Hi,
Yeah they have some local shops which are worth visiting, as you exit the hotel turn left and walk down you will see shops that have large elephant statues outside. If you carry on walking they have a bowling alley and additional shopping centres, plus places to eat.
A short taxi ride they have the mall of sousse which is also worth visiting.
The hotel has many excursions which you can also do, as at reception or at the beach bar for details on what they can offer you. Also the price they offer you can negotiate, make sure you do to get the price your happy with, the price is not fixed.
Also another short taxi ride you can go to the sousse port which has market style stalls, and more shops.

Yes this is a standard room, this was a seaview room as you can see the sea when you look outside the window (as per the hotels explanation of a sea view room). The rooms on the other side of the hotel are garden view where you can't see the sea when looking out the window.
