I have to say Bryan It was bloody had work walking through the long grass to get the first shots, but I was well impress with the sight I saw. But when I went on Monday It was so much easier to walk as the farmer had cut the grass. Mike.
Glad you enjoyed the footage Stephen, I would have liked to have been there on the day It came down, but a local guy told me that all the roads would be closed off, but yes your are right all that time to build them towers. Cheers Mike.
Fascinating to watch and note the impact on the view of the cooling towers going. Before I watched the video all the way through and gave it some thought I would have said point blank it's obviously a nicer view without them. But there is a certain austere character and they have a place in history, particularly in the local area. Although overall I'd still have to say to me it looks nicer without. Great video!!!
Thank you Mr Hurt for your comment, I sort of agree with you, but I wonder if they were not going to build houses there would they have bothered taking them down.
Well what I was told the first time I went David was all the roads would be closed in the area, and to lock the gates to this field. Thank you for watching.
I know these cooling towers represented the bad old days of coal fired power stations pumping CO2 into the atmosphere but they were such a feature of the landscape for so long it's sad to see them go. Great video of today's railway traffic though. Thanks.
You are so right John as they are part of the landscape, but it does look different now but in time people get used to it. Cheers John for you comment. Mike.
Landscape not the same in my opinion. For me its a shame although some will disagree. It just reminds me of the constant MGRs that went in to these power stations so I suppose its sentimental haha
They certainly gave a sense of scale to the railway and an interesting background.

Nice contrast Mike. Great capture of those four Skodas.
Yeah Paul that was a nice sight when they came into view, pleased you enjoyed my video. Regards Mike.
Great imagination to film before and after Mike...excellent. I like your thinking and the views of the trains made this a really good video.
Many thanks Matthew.
Great filming Mike, love the before and after shots, all that work building those wonderfull towers, gone in seconds, cheers .

Another good selection, we now have the wires in Wales, but don't have any electric freights!
Very sad times for you Mike in your area.

Cheers Paul.
Good spot Mike, landscape looks better without the towers. Cheers
Well Its certainly different David. Cheers Mike.
I remember going to Ironbridge power station on a school trip before it was demolished a couple of years ago.
Yes I remember that event too, thanks for watching my video Ryan.
@@antman09ful1 You're welcome mate.
what a great viewpoint, guess no one was allowed there when they felled the towers?
Well what I was told the first time I went David was all the roads would be closed in the area, and to lock the gates to this field.
Thank you for watching.

@@RJH1971 great video
great compilation Mike. I watched them coming down and it reminded me of Marston brickworks and of course Fred Dibnah. Great finishing capture.
Yes and sometime when these things come down they don't on the first go.
nice one again mike, it was similar at didcot.
Yes they have taken a few of our landscapes over the last few years.
Cheers Steve, regards Mike.

Same we me you saying that Ben, I used to film the MGRs along that Walsall line a lot towards the end.
