At Mexico, we think quite the same! Every time you think they are finished, they do a diffetent thing. I can tell you that each "bolero" (the person who clean your shoes), has a little different techniques. It is not necesary the fire, because there are more people that finish the shoes like these, without fire, but... It is a good technique to bring people and admire their works.
Cuernavaca, downtown center, they have, a good "boleros" too. The act of clean your shoes with this people is called to give "bola" from the word "bolero", is the movement in circles one of the explenations...
This is called pride in your work. Going above and beyond. We can all learn something. I gotta say i was blessed watching this

Remarkable talent! I've had shoe shines in NY, Dallas,LA,Miami, New Orleans to name a few places. None have applied the amount of labor intensive effort as this person has. I would love to have my shoes cleaned, treated and shined by this talented person. This skill level is difficult to find. I hope you tipped this person well.
oboy inflrida A NYC shoe shine takes 5 minutes cost $9 with tip and they don’t saddle soap your shoes. I asked a “famous” leather place to wash the shoes first and they said it’s a drop off service and would cost $50.

Here in mexico sears is not owned by american sears; it is owned by carlos slim; it only uses it's name and is one of the top retailers in mexico
