I hope this comment helps Jeff, Sir. The average patrol air time for a helicopter is about 2 hours, from lift-off to refuel. During pursuits though this can be reduced down to 45 minutes based on the speed the craft is traveling, similar to a motor vehicle. NOW to really make a mess of things this also depends on the type of craft. Northern California CHP for instance a number of years back purchased and actively use Blackhawk helicopters that have been retrofitted for patrol and pursuits. Those can stay in the air average 3 hours and can keep up and even outrun most ground vehicles. Again pursuit times will reduce its air-time dependent on the speeds to around an hour to maybe 1 hr 15 minutes. Unfortunately this is mostly guess work as certain information is still classified but this comes from my military time having worked with them.

I watch Las Vegas Metro's helicopters fly around ( Flight Radar 24) and it appears they fly circles around traffic stops. Also on Miami PD's latest vid their rotor has the Lo-jack system on it. It is interesting to think what air units are doing

The area I live in (DMV area Washington DC) air units don’t really patrol all that much if at all between the level of crime and accidents they don’t even have time plus the cost of fuel is astronomical in this area

I thought somthing was odd as well but he forgot he had the master volume down for iracing as it was really loud but he eventually realizes it and turns it up to normal :)

Not in their server. Other servers have it (like DOJ) but OCRP has a different code set up

For the record, from someone who flew helicopters for about a decade in the military and also has a law enforcement career…hover is not hard on helicopters. We would spend hours hovering around doing different types of training. Yes a helicopter is more efficient flying above effective translational lift speed, but it doesn’t both the engines and transmission to hover, that’s what they’re designed to do. Also there are many law enforcement agency in the US and other countries that will hover and attempt to locate people on the ground. If there is intel of a serious threat to you or the aircraft and hovering is a must you just pull into a higher offset hover. Just wanted to remind everyone that as these guys are great at video game rp there is still a real difference between their operations and knowledge and real world operations and knowledge. Cheers
I'm a heli pilot as well for FDEM. I noticed when Jeff took over he would circle at 50-60 kts and they would lose the subject. You circle at 20 kts max so the camera is more stable, or simply hover the area. They were going way too fast in a tight circle to catch anything.
Only one I watch where the volume is always so low. Amp up the game volume
