Bruh I want a maxima so bad, and I'm getting one as my next car. I don't care what people say about the cvt, cause from what I've seen, as long as you take care of it the right way, 9/10 times it's gonna last a long time. My cousin had a 6th gen maxima with over 200k miles on it and the stock cvt was still going strong. Plus, literally every car brand out there has their problems, including toyota. Hell, ford is also known for having transmission issues, and just like nissan they're still popular. So I'm just gonna get what I want.
I got mine finally a year ago. Been in love everyday since. Never thought I’d be able to own one. Dreams do come true ❤️ you’ll love it man, trust me. The system…… so good.
Things I learned about my 2014 Maxima. You need to change the tran fluid every 25k miles. Pull plug about 6 quarts comes out. Refil. Also, change the filter behind the driver side front wheel well. Some add an additional cooler for tran fluid instead of using the part of radiator gives extra cooling capacity. Fluid needs to be within the middle of the grid mark on the dip stick when the fluid temp is 160. Dont over/under fill Use a panlong Bluetooth ODBII diagnostic scanner to measure tran fluid temp.
Yeah I learned that too. I take the pan off every 20k miles and clean the pan and replace the outer filter cooler filter. The problem this dude had was the wire connections to his transmission because if it wasn't reading any pressure when they should of saved his money and checked the connections. Makes me mad how they said he needs another cvt. Look at it this way if it worked then stopped working then what does that tell ya? 🤔 . They probably took his old cvt and tested it and resold it on the market.

Just brought a 2014 3 weeks ago. 103,000 miles. I love it, so far so good. Question, have you ever tuned it or know someone with a 2014 that got tuned?
Here it is: ruclips.net/video/WZthHiK_ywg/видео.html You may have to scroll a bit down to find the dyno results. Engine died before the transmission did. These CVTs have an issue with overheating which causes premature wear. It’s recommended to install an aftermarket trans cooler.
I got a 05 maxima thought my tranny was toast. Car would got into gear hard and slip really bad. Comes find out maxima sensors are bad for going out. Changed both camshaft sensors and changed my tranny fluid car rides excellent now

@@Paulog1990 It has the VQ35DE which is the same motor as in the 350Z. You can fuck with them without a problem. Just make sure the CVT temps are down and you’ll be fine. Lmao.
Install a transmission cooler. Your problems are solved. Transmission fluid over heating is a known problem. Nissan even issued TSB to install an external transmission fluid cooler
How much does it cost to get a new transmission on the nissan maxima? I have a 2014 nissan maxima. I like the car alot. It currently has 94k miles. I drove it from texas to new york and it's done well. Lol already figuring the transmission will go out someday
After having the p01778 code and trying to fix it, I replaced the stepper motor in the Transmission and it worked for awhile until I was on the freeway then I had a preassure selinoid stuck off and limp mode car trying to die. That caused other codes. Was on the toll 99 in houston during a fatal accident. Luckyly had my wireless scan tool to pull over and shut it off and clear the code faults to get back to almost normal. That saved my ass for a tow. Traded the car in and said my goodbye to the 2014 maxima at 112k miles. I was sad to see it go. I got $3700 for the trade in and bought a 2017 mazda 3 touring. So I think it needed new sensors. But mechanics will tell you, your transmission is done. Don't give up, get new speed sensors and replace the selinoids then take it to a dealership and get it reprogrammed. But It could of been the wiring in the Transmission from getting hot and cold expanding the wiring and contracting them causing resistance to the sensors. Guys their are more and more complaints about the nissian cvt so if you have one be aware but don't freak out. I've seen more and more nissians on the side of the freeways. If you comming with problems then you need to buy a scan tool to reset the codes so your car gets out of limp mode and the car has to go through several fault cycles to ping that light on causing more and more problems if you get in an emergency situation like me. I enjoyed watching these videos. Good luck to all those out their I loved my maxima 😢
You have to change the oil every 4k-7k that's what I did the transmission is locked at over 23o,000.....might be a bad module, that's what I looked at.
The other thing is a lot of people are waiting for the transmissions to go out and then they are swapping them to manuals. I have a 2012 he has about 80,000 miles on it.
Hey I have a 2014 Nissan Maxima, I can drive my car all day but as soon as I hit the interstate driving over 60 mph my rpm hand goes up between the 3 k 4 (which I think is too high) I took the car to auto store & it said code 1778. When I googled it said step motor I purchase that ( have not replace it as of yet). Spent over $130 for transmission fluid my question to you is : Should I change the step motor & fluid? I bought the car @ 103,000 miles now I’m @ 109,000. Also sorry to hear about your car this was the most honest video I’ve ever seen!💙 Hope by now you have your car & it’s running great.
@@ThisBGama thanks for responding! One more question, what video did you start with if you remember? I will definitely take your response into consideration, thanks‼️
I have this same car bro they put thr wrong oil filter we caught it right when I turned the car on oil shot out all over. Now the cars in limp how can I fox this?
Aye man I’m trynna get a 12 maxima with about 50k on the odo. You think the cvt would be good even tho the cars been around for 8-9 years? I plan to flush the fluids and stuff if I get it but even then I’m a little skeptical..
It’s to catch oil that was coming from the crankcase and was being dumped back into the intake manifold. So I disconnected it from my intake. Put the small filter on one end. And capped of the end on the intake.
So I'm confused.....so you had to relearn the throttle bottle. When you inside the new throttle body, do you or do you not have to reprogram the new throttle body??
Jus to think of it , I just watched your video of you changing the tranny fluid with Castrol. I feel like there’s a reason why Nissan cvt ns2 fluid would have been more safer to use not to mention that it also says it
Bro I had mine go out at 55k miles 2011 maxima I paid $432 out the door 🚪 Nissan paid 90% I paid 10% at Cerritos Nissan California, I sold the car right after but miss the car just hate the CVT
I’ve been wanting to buy my second maxima for the longest, only thing I’m scared of is if I try to build it lowkey scared the transmission won’t hold up past 400hp stupid cvt lmso
Don’t buy if it’s crazy high on mileage, original trans and high miles is not a good sign, check how many previous owners and see how smooth it drives.
I'm here late with a 2008 NM, bought it 2010 with 41k and now 2022 it has 335k & I think the transmission is going out, one shop said it was the chain, I never change the transmission fluid 😨
So our transmissions are crap. I'm on my second one and going to my third on Tuesday. I'm waiting for my warranty to end so I can put a 6 speed manual in it. Rebuilds are all they have however they're selling them like new. Also, Nissan have a mileage criteria for these transmissions that they don't tell you about and if you go over there mileage you have to pay for the parts if something happens, so fam if it's possible get the 6 speed manual transmission and be done with it. NIS Performance here in NC is where I'm going cause these things are $6500 a pop.....well that's what they charge my warranty company anyways. Twice now and possibly a third time. Oh I purchase my car November of 2019 and it's a 2013 as well
Mannnnnn!!!! Yea I wanted to just do the swap and get it over with but I was in no way shape or form ready. And yea I need this trans cuz it’s hard getting around without my car. That’s my everything. Gerson will be doing my swap (6mt) maxima owner.

Yo fam I know you’ve heard this before about Nissan’s . I currently own two Infiniti’s Jx / fx 35 . Nissan of course owns Infiniti’s an is the reason for the terrible cvt transmission . Save you’re money an get a Lexus GS or a Honda new body . Nissan is stopping production of the maxima they are not making anymore due to poor sales . Eventually I believe Nissan is going to be out of business in the next 5yrs due to poor reliability an sales . I’m already jumping ship my fx trans blew an am done with the brand am going Lexus or or Honda . Toyota are good but lack power to me .
I know and you have a valid points but I’m one of those guys that deviate from the norm. I want to stick with it to prove that I can care for the car till the end of my time

It's that cvt... Get a 2001 20th anniversary. If you replaced all those parts imagine what you could've done to the 01 ...get New everything suspension parts cheap the engine and transmission you will never have an issue with replace exhaust all sensors... You can make the 2001 clean the transmission is way better and you can make that car look nice iknow you could
That all depends on the color of the fluid. If at 100 K and it still has a little bit of red to it absolutely change it. if it’s completely black, then leave it alone change your fluid every 30 K once your new transmission is installed

Damn man I’m sorry to hear that... I hope all goes well! What exhaust you running?

Just brought a 2014 3 weeks ago. 103,000 miles. I love it, so far so good. Question, have you ever tuned it or know someone with a 2014 that got tuned?
I never tuned it. It’s not recommended. It will put too much stress on the trans
Someone almost got 500 HP on their CVT believe it or not. It was a turbocharged Altima.
Here it is: ruclips.net/video/WZthHiK_ywg/видео.html
You may have to scroll a bit down to find the dyno results. Engine died before the transmission did. These CVTs have an issue with overheating which causes premature wear. It’s recommended to install an aftermarket trans cooler.
Sheesh
I did that. Installed an aftermarket cooler and I’ve been good since
The transmission mechanic was so nice
I got a 05 maxima thought my tranny was toast. Car would got into gear hard and slip really bad. Comes find out maxima sensors are bad for going out. Changed both camshaft sensors and changed my tranny fluid car rides excellent now
Good stuff, glad you didn’t have to get a new tranny
Just subbed and I've swapped out 2 cvt smh one for my gf Sentra and a Altima both 08 both with step motor/valve body codes. Called a bunch of junkyards and did it in my driveway with the help of youtube
That’s what I wanted to do but I was going to get a manual swap done but I was not prepared
@@ThisBGama yoo tbh at the time me either definitely felt overwhelmed but hell yeah that manual swap would be beastly i only mess with with nissan/Infiniti, just sold my 04 max and 03 g35 looking for something atm
I had the same problem waste 1200 on Solenoid, crank sensor , labor and work to be done and traveling back from Miami to georgia parked car and car never moved . Had to get a brand new transmission and waited 2 months for the shit to be done . Crazy thing is all that shit was under warranty but the dealership lied because they didn’t want to fix it but big ups to Nissan they came thru
Dammm
I like how honest you are. Most people don't admit shit. New subscriber here. I just got an 09 SV. Has 105,000 miles. I love it. Almost bought the K&N air intake. Not sure yet if I'm going to do anything to it. You're vids may inspire me. Lol
Welcome to the fam and I appreciate the feedback 🤞🏾
Don’t mess with anything on the engine. Leave it stock. Maximas are strictly a looks car.
@@Paulog1990 It has the VQ35DE which is the same motor as in the 350Z. You can fuck with them without a problem. Just make sure the CVT temps are down and you’ll be fine. Lmao.
@@Iridiumcosmos how do u check cvt temp
Install a transmission cooler.
Your problems are solved.
Transmission fluid over heating is a known problem.
Nissan even issued TSB to install an external transmission fluid cooler
That’s true. I plan on it
@@ThisBGamalmk where to get it bro and if u upload and install vid that would be cool
How much does it cost to get a new transmission on the nissan maxima? I have a 2014 nissan maxima. I like the car alot. It currently has 94k miles. I drove it from texas to new york and it's done well. Lol already figuring the transmission will go out someday
About $4.5k
😢
Thank you for your comment, learned a lot. Stay safe hope you’re enjoying the new car man.
You have to change the oil every 4k-7k that's what I did the transmission is locked at over 23o,000.....might be a bad module, that's what I looked at.
I’m at 226k now
Always good to have friends.
Yes yes, friends can be more helpful than family
@@ThisBGama I hope you get your Max back on the streets soon.
Thanks man
@ThisBGama no lie!
The other thing is a lot of people are waiting for the transmissions to go out and then they are swapping them to manuals. I have a 2012 he has about 80,000 miles on it.
Baby that car
How much does that cost?
Or can you put a g37 tranny in dat bih??
About 5k
@@ThisBGama Tru Tru should I do it?
My trans went back in July. I was driving like an ass and not in sport mode. Biggest regret!!! I’m sorry Maxine! 😂😅
13:25 you were doing about 120mph so i think the car is good👍🏾
It sure is 🤝
i got same maxi 13 and its still driving strong i hope you changed the metal cvt filter access from tire housing.
Had to get a whole nee CVT
Why would you push it so hard right after limp mode? Damn that Honda misfiring like crazy!
Check your air filter and then you may need to clean you MAF sensor before tackling anything else
MAF sensor where’s that located? Thanks for quick response. Just followed you on Insta
It’s inside you air intake tube
That black long thing that’s connected to the air filter is loose. Is there anyway I can send a pic?
Dm on IG
How did you get so knowledgeable of cars? I'm tired of not knowing how to take care of my car myself 😔
Through RUclips videos and pushing myself to do it on my own at times.
@@ThisBGama thanks for responding! One more question, what video did you start with if you remember? I will definitely take your response into consideration, thanks‼️
@teddyructeddyruc8188 no specific video. Just whenever I had a question of how something works or how to fix something, I looked it up
I have this same car bro they put thr wrong oil filter we caught it right when I turned the car on oil shot out all over. Now the cars in limp how can I fox this?
I saw that so late. Just have to disconnect and reconnect battery so the computer can reset all the codes after you fix the oil issue
What kind of exhaust you have on that car bro? And have you seen the Tesla style screens for this vehicle they have them on Ali express
Yea that’s also something I plan on doing and no aftermarket exhaust. Just a. Resonator and muffler delete
Rip :( Love the video watch it while eating
Thanks family. Hopefully the food was good
Aye man I’m trynna get a 12 maxima with about 50k on the odo. You think the cvt would be good even tho the cars been around for 8-9 years? I plan to flush the fluids and stuff if I get it but even then I’m a little skeptical..
Also keep up the good content I recently subbed with notis
Appreciate you
Sorry to hear about the max bro. She'll be back and better
I did have one question... how did you change your cluster displays from orange to blue ?
I didn’t. The 2013 display is white. And thanks for the kind words
@@ThisBGama oh I see smh. I got a 11 it's the ugly orange. Maybe I'll swap to the newer cluster.
what is the small red filter in your engine bay? it looks like a mini cold air to take to the left of your actual intake
Well dang.......I'm in the same predicament fam......NEW TRANSMISSION IT IS......
Sheesh
Jus to think of it , I just watched your video of you changing the tranny fluid with Castrol. I feel like there’s a reason why Nissan cvt ns2 fluid would have been more safer to use not to mention that it also says it
True
Bro I had mine go out at 55k miles 2011 maxima I paid $432 out the door 🚪 Nissan paid 90% I paid 10% at Cerritos Nissan California, I sold the car right after but miss the car just hate the CVT
Yea the CVT is a big downside but I got bigger plans so I gotta ride through it
Love the vids👍🏻 need a tune for my maxi
Thanks and I plan on getting one too once the car is ready
I’ve been wanting to buy my second maxima for the longest, only thing I’m scared of is if I try to build it lowkey scared the transmission won’t hold up past 400hp stupid cvt lmso
CVT won’t even see 350
i might buy a maxima or altima next month what do you think i should keep in mind when purchasing one probably 2010 one
Don’t buy if it’s crazy high on mileage, original trans and high miles is not a good sign, check how many previous owners and see how smooth it drives.
Damn bro im scared now on mine lol but good luck bro on the trans.
Thanks a lot
Does your steering wheel shake when you go over 70 miles per hour?
No, that sounds like a bad axle, ball joint, could be an alignment or bad tire
Mine does want to have a checked out today
That’s your brake rotors for sure
I'm here late with a 2008 NM, bought it 2010 with 41k and now 2022 it has 335k & I think the transmission is going out, one shop said it was the chain, I never change the transmission fluid 😨
That’s really good. You took great care of that car. The transmission was bound to give out. Even if you did change transmission fluid
Had the same problem on my 2007 Nissan Maxima , replaced MAF sensor , both cam and crank sensor, evap valve, throttle body and the actual pedal assembly, bought the ECM , BCM and the ignition switch smh , and still the car was going into limp mode and wouldn’t accelerate
Did you ever changes the trans or solve the problem?
How many miles you have on ur 07?
186k
but what are the symptoms cause i gotta 12 w 136k miles n ima lil scary
Shii I’m scared too cause I have an 09 with 145k😂
Better maintain and baby it

Good yo hear brother. Take good care of her
I've the same thing with my 2014 maxima

N the trans fluid looks fine but sounds like shit when I put it back n park until I cut the car off but I can turn it back on and wont make the grind noise did I blow my trans
You sure did
Aye bro wat was the signs? I gotta 09 Max and I bought it used in 2020. Idk if the trans have ever been changed but I feel my car have 2 sec delay wen I go from park to drive
That an early signs but most cars do that. But things like slow acceleration, loud wining, trembling and oil leaks
How much is the new CVT from Nissan's JATCO Ltd.???
I got mine for a little over $2k
Hey I was wondering how you line the rear when you lower the car
I count the threads
Wait so is that code for the solenoid not fixable? Cause I have that same code on my maxima and I bout a whole new CVT valve body and my trans is stock one and has about 235,000 miles on it!??
Under conditions like that. I’d say your trans was done for but that solenoid is rarely the issue needing to be fixed
@@ThisBGama dang we ready find out cause the valve body arrived today so ima change it tomorrow and see I’m a couple months or in sum time of it fixed or the trans was just dying
@vurisyt8469 let me know how it goes
What's up men just wanted to know how much they transmission cost u I just bought a 2014
Trans and labor was $4.8k

Can you check wassup with the transmission, ask to see why they on back order. 👀
@@ThisBGama because they are pieces of crap thanks to Renault. That’s why.
My maxima traction control light comes on after the car is warmed, any ideas bro.
ABS sensors bad
Hey I got a maxima as well and it’s been giving me problems got a couple questions for you if you don’t mind
My 2008 Nissan rogue had this issue, unfortunately it turned out the transmission was destroyed. Rip.. :,)
The outcome was the same for me
ty for ur channel abt to start modding my maxima
Yessir!
What code are you getting ?? Is it P0643?
Those CVTs are really destroying Nissan, and they still won’t get rid of them
Trueeee
Yes they are, ruining a whole brand
Help me out bro, got a Nissan maxima 2013 SV, my transmission is acting up on me. I got 2 codes, P0746 & P0868. Should I replace the CVT transmission or get it rebuild? Please let me know thanks!
Soon as I got off the highway and stopped at a red light. My car no longer wanted to accelerate forward. Every time I came to a stop it would do it
Sounds like trans is coming to an end.
@@ThisBGama one more thing bro, how much did you get quoted on a new transmission replacement
I was quoted $4.8k and that was labor, parts, and reprogramming TCU.
I want to stick with it to prove that I can care for the car till the end of my time
@@ThisBGama 👍 good luck
I agree. I was so excited to get my fully loaded maxi, she’s so pretty. HOWEVER this has been a very stressful experience for me especially since it’s my first car and I’m pregnant and in need of something more reliable. Literally every week is something new and I’m just about ready to trade sis in for a Lexus suv ux.
What is that little filter mod you have next to the cold air intake?
its to let the motor breathe out all unburnt gases from the cranckcase
It's that cvt... Get a 2001 20th anniversary. If you replaced all those parts imagine what you could've done to the 01 ...get New everything suspension parts cheap the engine and transmission you will never have an issue with replace exhaust all sensors... You can make the 2001 clean the transmission is way better and you can make that car look nice iknow you could
You’re right
Been watching. But just subbed
Much love
Same thing happened to me recently bro. Had to replace my 335 transmission
These cars don’t like just running. It’s always something lol
how much did the transmission repair + part cost you
$4.8k
How often were you changing your fluid?
The CVT is so sensitive I have it flushed at 100k and then never again. You’re instructed to leave the fluid in the trans of that car alone after 100k
That all depends on the color of the fluid. If at 100 K and it still has a little bit of red to it absolutely change it. if it’s completely black, then leave it alone change your fluid every 30 K once your new transmission is installed
Exhaust sounds badass.
Thanks family
Always listen to ur engine light sir
