Any river named "Salmon River" has to be good! Nice catches. Just got my PB Brown Trout but I'm gonna hit up the Columbia this spring for big steelheads! You are an inspiration. Sub from me!
What kind of rod/reel set up is Andy using? It looks like a Spey fly rod, but it's not. I think I've seen something like it in really old photos of people fishing steelhead, but I dunno.
You might want to contact the biologist at NYS DEC to set you straight on this. The NYS fish hatchery in Altmar (I still recognize it as a town) raises just under 1 million Steelhead to be released in the Salmon River annually. There are Rainbow Trout as well. However, these are Steelhead.
Awesome!! Great trip! Home of the blue Goo!! Love it! Fish on!!
Excellent video, very informative, well done.
Big fish, looks like catch and release is working wonders for average size. Really great
You put that many fish in the boat on the SR that’s an amazing day! You guys must of been on pods of them

It's good once the actual salmon run is over, otherwise it's so crowded like shoulder to shoulder fishing
I have always wanted to do that!
2/3 GRAM BACKWOOD AND A 5TH IF CROWN AND YOU WILL CATCH CHROME
