Corbin technically he legally owned the firearm due the state’s laws. Also it’s not like he traveled a long ways to the protest, he worked as a lifeguard in Kenosha which is about 10 - 20 minutes from where he lived. For the large part of the time that he was in Kenosha that week he was getting rid of graffiti, the whole situation got out of control when he tried to extinguish a dumpster fire which started the confrontation. While it wasn’t a good idea to be there, it’s not like he went there with the sole intent to kill people. (Btw it’s a hunting law that allowed him to own the gun at his age ).
