I worked in the prison system in Texas for 10 years. They never used honey like that and they never had access to fresh veggies like that unless they worked in the kitchen. This is not a typical prison spread. It is interesting though.
Trust me, they do not use the lids to chop up veggies. That could be used as a weapon. The have washable utensibles that can be purchased in commisary. Pretty much everything we can get at a convenience store is sold in prisons.
