    Faking noise to produce seemingly higher resolutions? I've seen stuff like this before, but never to this extent! Spectacular!

    oh man the end... my mind is blown how they did this. How did they predetermine the paths so that there were never more than 8 sprites on a line and make it look so natural? ( at lest that’s what I presume they did! )

      I'm pretty sure you're right (about it being set up so that there are only ever 8 sprites on any scan line). I wonder if they just ran simulations on a regular PC to figure out what works before coding it into the C64.
