Damn this kids Footwork and rhythm is elite for his size. Possibly a world beater for the Natty team.

Someone tell me if this is dumb.
If you watch his swings he almost always swings to 1 and 5(to avoid the mb), as this mb theoretically, if you knew your outside would be helping to take away 5, shouldn’t you commit to taking away 1? That way the hitter would be forced to hit to zone 6 which they would have to read in the air?

Because if you commit taking away 1 to hard he will just bounce it on the 10ft line everytime he can do it even when you try to cover it. see @3:00

@@jimmydevron5480 for that one if the blocker was taking away 1 he would have gotten a block? I don’t understand. I’m also not saying you should do it every time, just occasionally to surprise the hitter.

@@reckingcrew2277Usually middle blockers have the highest attack efficiency rate. If u are taller than 2m with decent jump it is hard to block u, especially if u are usually 1vs1 ur opponent middle blocker. That is why in modern volleyball it is so important to not let setter set from zone R+/R++

@@andriibakhtiozin4477 I don’t know R notation for zones, mind clarifying?

@@reckingcrew2277 damn, wrote big comment but received error trying posting it..
"R" I think means "receive". R+ means setter receives ball between zone 3 and 2 and close to net. R++ mean everything above plus high enough. So actually R++ means that the setter has opportunity to involve all 4 attackers and so for blockers it will be a nightmare to guess where setter is going to set.
As far as I remember bad Receive indicated by "R-" and then u add meters and zones or positions.
I'm not good at this as well, our trainer just always emphasize that we have to try pass ball to the setter in R++
