Yeah, no kidding! I just found Wolf Alice in 2020 and listened to some old live concerts and was kind of "meh" about them. But then the more recent stuff, especially her performance on KEXP doing "Don't Delete The Kisses" just absolutely stunned me. So did "Last Man On Earth" on BBC. The entire band really just keeps impossibly improving.
We heard them at the Pilton party in Glastonbury which was the last gig they played before lockdown, we kept looking at each other all through the gig going “is it me or is Ellie’s vocal just amazing?!” Just soared out of the PA..
It's really cool how, as amazing and beautiful Ellie is, she doesn't overshadow the band. She slots in there and lives within the music and it's awesome.
It is seriously unreal when she goes into the super high vibrato after “I just want to make you happy” the second time in each chorus. This song is so sweet and an ultimate tear jerker from the sheer beauty. And pure lyrics.
Bring Me The Horizon made 2020 more bearable by releasing their new album, so did Rina Sawayama. Now, 2021 is made better by Wolf Alice. Can you see? Those mucisians are all from UK.
I've heard it at work on Absolute Radio, which usually play old music, and I was thinking: what is that Fleetwood Mac song? How come I don't know it? And then I googled the lyrics, and wow. It's not only Fleetwood Mac, it's not even old. This is fresh. And great. Wow.
Definite Fleetwood Mac vibe to this (always cool) She has a stunning voice. Not many female vocalists from this era give me chills like Ellie Rowsell does.
This song hits me right in the feels. It's really evocative of those times when you hurt someone and you desperately want to fix it, but there's nothing that you can do.
im a 60 year old man who pretty much only listens to music from 2000 and back. then isaw this, gave it a chance. people say im a hard man…wellthis just made a grown man cry and i dont even know why i did. now THAT is goos music. 3 days later i got my 57 year old woman of my dreams to like it too. its soooo danceable. turns out theres ALOT more good music from this band
Such a delectable tune. Incredible vocal melodies and performance, arrangements, and production. If there was any justice in the world, this would be at least a top 40 hit.
This band spews fantastic songs like a storm deluge. I knew it back in 2015 first seeing them in tiny 100 person Club Bardot Los Angeles. and some of the kindest, sweetest people i've ever met as well
Every time some my age tells me ther is no good new music I point them at this track. I'm now a "70 something" so old enough to be these kids grandparent! This is the new rock music. It is going to be OK! For the record, a few years ago I saw them do "Visions of a Life" at Allie Pallie and it was awesome, even though I did not enjoy being in such a crowd. The mjsic made up for it.
Excellent performance and it's the best album I've heard in a long time, I admire them a lot, all their work I love, they're the best, greetings from Mexico. Excelente interpretación y es el mejor álbum que he escuchado en mucho tiempo, los admiro mucho, todo su trabajo me encanta ,son los mejores , saludos desde México
I've known of Wolf Alice now for a few years & thought yeah they are good, then recently watched them live, like at Glastonbury & they are amazing!!! & I'm questioning myself why I haven't been listening to them more, I fuckin love this song, love Ellie's voice
I've not really listened to much since the 90s, first two kings of Leon albums probably the latest but this band have blown me away with every album so far, just wish I was younger to go see them live 👍
There's a LOT of good bands out there. This is just one of them. I grew up listening to music from the sixties & seventies through school. I survived those dark Disco days. It's been basically all rock since then. Sorry it's been twenty years since you got back into music. I can't go more than a few days.
I cannot even describe what I feel hearing this...I just know it's good. Every time I find a new song and think it doesn't get any better than this, BAM.....I find this chick with banger after banger. Dammit, what am I doing with my life...not enough apparently
I thought this song couldn’t get any more perfect… and then I listened to this live version! Fleetwood Mac vibes all over this and I am living for it 🖤
I've only been following em about 6 months when my nephew introduced me to em, obviously been living in a cave. Now I'm absolutely intoxicated with em, all 3 albums are fantastic with some very different songs on all albums. Can't wait to see em in January
I did wonder how the chorus lyrics would work when I heard the song on the album, turns out the boys sung the how can I make it OK bit. Good work everyone.
Wow! I’ve only just come across Wolf Alice. My god, vocals of shear crystal. What a complete breath of fresh air to the mainstream crap that’s been assaulting my earoles for so long. Thank you! Thank you!Thank you!
Reminds me so much of the band Til Tuesday from the 1980's. Ellie's vocal even has a real Aimee Mann feel to it. Love that they now have a separate keyboardist at least on a part-time basis. Really fills in the sound on these types of songs. Frees up Joff from having to key so many fills through the guitar.
I agree. Til Tuesday had a gorgeous and really talented vocalist. I don't remember her name. They had been a bridge between new wave, pop rock and.. I think..they, had inspired a lot of Dream Pop bands. I prefer the heavy side of WA... Giant Peach You're a Germ, Your Love Whore are masterpieces. 👍
@@ekoeschannel140 Aimee Mann was the bass playing lead singer of Til Tuesday- she is still active but does very different music. What is cool about Wolf Alice is that they have more than one side. Dream Pop is a good description of some of the songs on Blue Weekend. No telling what they will do next.
Aimee Mann does indie folk and once in awhile a new wave inspired song like Freeway. She also covered Drive by The Cars.Wolf Alice were going for Cocteau Twins meets Fleetwood Mac.
woah I accidentally had this playing in one tab and the studio version playing in another, and DAMN!!!! her voice was overlapping at different parts of the song, and it was an absolutely incredible mashup!!!!!! so emotional!! I started the album version around 20 seconds into this version...
Ellie have voice of an angel
Ellie just keeps delivering better and better vocals every album! So gorgeous.
Totally agree with you with Ellie's vox
Yeah, no kidding! I just found Wolf Alice in 2020 and listened to some old live concerts and was kind of "meh" about them. But then the more recent stuff, especially her performance on KEXP doing "Don't Delete The Kisses" just absolutely stunned me. So did "Last Man On Earth" on BBC.

Feels like she's been through some classical training for this album in lockdown, some seriously pure powerful tones.
We heard them at the Pilton party in Glastonbury which was the last gig they played before lockdown, we kept looking at each other all through the gig going “is it me or is Ellie’s vocal just amazing?!”
Just soared out of the PA..
What sorcery is this? Another tune that shows their ever expanding talent. LOVE. Thank you
Love how beautifully they're evolving, this song is perfect
Another 5 star I'm guessing Jon
right. their growth is just amazing
te amooooo
I didn’t know the band but I decided to watch your review anyway and then I checked them out, thanks for introducing me to such an amazing band Jon!
Still glad you introduced my to Wolf Alice Jon, cheers!
Does her voice give anybody else goosebumps?
Ho yeah for sure! Can't stop listening...
Every time
I cant imagine people that dont get goosebumps from her voice
I like how I can hear tones of Debbie Harry and Chrissie Hynde in there at the same time
Since I first heard "Moaning Lisa Smile". One day I may even be able to explain why. But not today. Today I just listen and smile.
2021: How can I make it okay?
Wolf Alice: *releases Blue Weekend*
truth
Hands down makes everything okay!
Just received an email telling me my order is on its way!
You won a special prize for best comment. Regards

jesus christ, this song sounds even better live
Did you hear the stripped back acoustic version they did for The Current? Absolutely untouchable as a band right now

Ellie’s vocals is out of this world! It’s so versatile! The way she can go from soft and soothing to doing more heavier stuff is so incredible
This is the best version of the song.
This song is a new masterpiece in music history , fantastic sound , and fantastic vocals from Ellie
Ellie's vibrato and voice control is just exquisite - lifts this track above and beyond.
It is seriously unreal when she goes into the super high vibrato after “I just want to make you happy” the second time in each chorus. This song is so sweet and an ultimate tear jerker from the sheer beauty. And pure lyrics.
Underrated band. We need more wolf Alice please.
Fantastic, this song has a Fleetwood Mac vibe
Just heard this on the radio, didn't know it was them, was getting serious Fleetwood Mac vibes.
Dammit Ellie.......Those vocals. I´m still recovering from ¨No hard feelings¨
And, as per usual, england keeps pushing out some of the absolute best bands. Such a fantastic album! Super stoked for the US tour!

Can't wait for the live version of Delicious Things
Favourite track! 💙
Might be my favourite Wolf Alice track generally
This band just keeps getting better and better. Great vocals. Bit of an 80s synth-rock vibe.
Saw her at latitude this year, reminds me of Donna lewis a tad
Just a bit!? Did the 50 monitors in the background give it away? 😏
Reminds me of Til Tuesday

Mesmerizing song, love u Ellie
Thank you, Wolf Alice, for making my twenties more endurable.
My favourite song on the album and I think possibly my favourite song of theirs ever. The songwriting, the lyrics, pure class. Love it.
The construction of the choirs is superb, there is a maturity of composition that is truly amazing. In short, a masterpiece.
Ellie is a rock goddess...Can't wait to see you guys live this fall !!!!
This song is incredible. Flawlessly and so powerfully sung and the band sounds beautiful.
