Snow Blizzards and a Cozy Winter at the Cottage

- This past winter at the cottage was not as hard as I expected. We didn’t get too much snow, and we had many beautiful days-both sunny and white, as well as stormy.
I worked hard and intensively on the renovations from March 2023 to December 2023, so I took a long break after the New Year.
I used my free time to relax and enjoy my 'new' home, as well as to edit all the material I had filmed over the past few months-and I’m still doing that.
With a full-time job (and sometimes more), commuting to work, managing a house and a large garden by myself, while trying to renovate and document the process, it all takes up so much of my time. I can’t commit to a regular upload schedule just yet, but that is my goal. If you’re reading this, I just want to say thank you so much-for both watching my video and for taking the time to read.

The thing about snowblowers is no matter which way you point the chute,the wind will change direction to blow the snow in your face.You've worked so hard for so long you deserve a break.You're wise to do that to keep from burning out.
Hahaha, that is so true. Same as with the smoke from a bondfire, the smoke will follow you and burn your eyes wherever you go!

It's so beautiful where you live. Java does not act like she's ten years old, wow. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I really loved the shot of the sunlight sparkling on the snow. Your dad is so funny, and seems like a great guy. Don't feel too bad about the studio. Mine's been longer than a year coming together, because it just wasn't urgent, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed or stuck at times during a whole house renovation.

I've just had to embraced that renovations takes time at this point and that no room will be finish and sparkling right away. It's sometime kind of nice that I let the rooms develop as I live there.

You are spot on about the season-thing. It is REAL. The spring is superbusy for preparing the garden and everything that is suppose to be planted, summer is the time to care for said garden as well as utilize the bright days and warmth for renovations. Autumn is filled with harvesting; berries, potatoes, vegetables and prepare the garden for winter. It never ends!😂 But I love all the seasons for what they bring. Wintertime will always be the most relaxing time of year and I'm not mad about it, haha!
What a nice surprise on a boring Monday evening! Stunning shots of the water / ocean, and mounatins. I would be there every day! I was surprised that it wasn't frozen over at least partially. Does it ever get icy? Nice to have that view all winter.

I'm happy to hear that, thank you!💛 I see the ocean and mountains so often that I sometimes think it might be boring for others to see me film them again and again. So it's nice that you enjoyed it! It never gets icy actually. I live on a huge island and the mountain view is the mainland. If I were to live in a deep fjord, the water would freeze, but the current is so strong here that it never happens (which I kinda find sad. I would love to see, hear and walk on the ice).
@@MathildeHenriksen I will never get sick of that view. I can certainly understand the desire to have the ice if it's not something you normally get. No ice fishing I suppose too.

PS I can understand why it's stressful to think about the amount of footage you have and editing it and getting it up etc. Good on you for taking the more peaceful route.

Yes, its called Kvaløya (Whale-island) and is the 2nd biggst island by the coast of Norway.

Glad to see the snowblower. Shouldn't you store it somewhere inside? Maybe the wood shed? It is going to freeze solid to the ground.
The snowblower saved my back last winter! I'm very happy to have it. I store it under tarpaulin and that seem to work quite well. It there is room in the wood shed, i might store it there next winter.

It takes time and a lot of feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to begin so no worries that is totally normal and as you get the time and energy it will get done 😊
Java is so energetic 😮 I can't believe she is 10 😂 my dog Bonnie (Staffordshire blue terrier) just turned 9 and while she still has some energy nowhere near that much (then again she is actually a very lazy dog 😂).
Never feel you have to explain Java's safety we know you adore her and would never put her in danger xx

Java is very energetic still, but also loves to be 'lazy' all day if she can. Sometimes she doesn't get out of bed until 2pm in the weekends!😂 Bonnie sounds wonderful, I love dogs, and a lazy, cuddly dog no less💛

Loved the video! It makes me miss the snow so much. Where I live, snow very seldom looks like this, it melts right away or gets dirty and trampled very quickly. And it doesn't snow as often as it used to. Snow like yours makes me very happy, and gives me a great sense of calm. Hopefully someday I can move up north and live a bit more peacefully
Thank you so much!💛 The winters where I live is often beautiful in late December, January and early February. Mid Feburary and all the way up to May, we have a lot of rain which makes the snow also very dirty and wet and awful, so I understand that those kind of winter aren't just it. I truly hope that you'll find your peaceful home someday💛

OMG I would be constantly panicking about eagles and pets.
Trust me, I do😱 They rarely catch big animals such as cats and small dogs, but it happens. I always keep an eye out, and I've learnt the alert sounds smaller birds makes when eagle(s) are approaching.

I always enjoy your videos when they come. From my own experience, when you're working full time and doing all the other needed things the energy for creativity often flies out the window. You're doing well.
Your words is soothing, thank you💛 I beat myself up a lot because I don't edit and post more often. And you are spot on, time flies! I try to squeeze in 4-6 hours of editing-time every week, but I make my life harder since I'm a perfectionist. Your little house has come along quite nicely. It's good that you have been able to enjoy your cozy little home through the long, cold winter. It is quite easy to get overwhelmed with so much to do but lucky for that you are able to tick off the renovations without a deadline. Your sweet pup is so cute... and so full of energy! The scenery around your home is stunning. How fortunate you are to love and appreciate it so much and not mind the cold.

This video has been done a week or two, but life happened and posting it had to wait. My adorable little Java had an operation to remove breast cancer-tissue, but it went very well and she is (hopefully) as healthy as always. I hope she will stay many more years with me💛 Thank you for your never ending support💛

I always enjoy your videos. Only one question: can you explain me, why are you using so dark colours on the walls?
Thank you💛 Great question! Since I live in Northen Norway, the light can be incredible bright and sharp during summer, and also when it's snow and sunny outside. I'm light sensitiv and gets a headache/migraine if it's too bright, so white -or light colored walls can sometimes make it worse. I do think light colors is beautiful and I might try lighter shades in the future. But I've always wanted to try darker colored walls and I love them so far. It makes it very cozy and nice, especially with the fireplace and small, warm light sources.
