- With the help of the Denon Conversion Utility (DECU), I was initially able to transfer my Serato crates to Engine DJ. It's an app that I use all the time to keep my Serato and Engine DJ libraries synced, as it also converts all the cues and loops.
A big respect to the developer of this app @MixMasterG , he's also very helpful when it comes to queries and support for the app. Make sure you check out his channel.
Dj Cruza thank you for this, I'm the developer of DJCU and DeCu, feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
Thank you for developing these apps and for the support you give for it. Feel free to answer any questions in the comments
I need to get my crates and all music off of serato dj from an old pc, onto this mixstream pro+. easy way? just transfer to a usb drive, then put on new pc? and use engine OS to load usb? or just start over... if I were to start over, best to use a standalone streaming app like tidal or beatport, or create a dropbox? or stick with usb
If you haven't managed to do it yet, I'm going to put together a video showing you how to
@@djcruza Haven’t yet. Yes please
Hello there. Im a serato dj pro user and want to start using engine dj to dj with my new denon prime go. But I have all of my music files stored in my external hard drive and i want to move all my music files to my internal hard drive in my macbook pro. How cn I go about this? And set up engine dj software onto my macbook pro?
Hi there, first of all Engine DJ software is a simple installation. Once you have that on your Mac, you need to get hold of the the DJ Conversion Utility and the Denon Conversion Utility apps. With these (as described in the video).
You said that you want to put all of your music files onto your internal hard drive, this is not necessary if you want to use music on your Prime Go, as you need that music on an external drive. Through the conversion, you can use the same external drive for your Prime Go and Serato without having to move or copy any files onto your computer, that’s how I use mine.
But if you need your music files on your computer, the best way to get them on there is doing it in Serato. You need to make sure that no controller or mixer is plugged in so that you are in preparation mode in Serato. Click on the “Files” button and you will see a file browser appear. You can then drag the required crates onto your internal hard drive.you then be asked whether you want to copy, move or cancel. Only tick the box below if you no longer want to use the crates from external any more.
Once completed, Serato will now see the crates and music from your internal hard. Then from there you can convert to Engine.
I hope this helps.
@@djcruza thanks for the info. I will download those apps and try it.
If I am only using Serato and Engine DJ, do I still need Rekordbox installed for that first export step where it has to open Rekordbox or will it move past that smoothly if I don't have that software. I'm trying not to install more than I need if I never use Rekordbox.
Yes, you will still need Rekordbox. You can eventually find Rekordbox useful when it comes to managing your music and playlists, as it goes a lot more deeper than Engine DJ and Serato. I just use Engine DJ as a means to get my music onto my Prime 4.
Where can I download this software please!?
