      I do enjoy violet, it works well with the Oud

    I blind bought this one and at first wasn't sure about it, mostly because the last few days I tried it at night and didn't get a chance to see how it smelled 4 to 6 hours down the road on my skin. Today is the first day being able to see how it develops throughout the day. When first putting it on it seemed a bit strong, not necessarily for my tastes but more that I'd worry about it being too much for people at work (i work in the medical field). 4 hours into it I'm really liking it and I agree that it's easy wearing. It's been a year or so since I've had a high quality oud fragrance and I love the immediate feeling of walking into an old theater or historic hotel that I get when I smell oud. It's definitely a more masculine scent and fall-winter leaning, but could be pulled off in cooler temperatures any time. Thanks for posting such a great review man! Keep it up!

    Oh hello!
    This sounds better than Santal Galore. The violet-ness appeals to me and I've been hearing about coffee notes in perfumes quite a bit the past few months as well. I get the impression that Areej Le Dore might be a little too hefty for me, more ways than one. So I might not get into ALD at all, grateful for the review still!
    Great review, cheers!

    I feel I have this one "covered" with other frags own so agree. I thought longevity was disappointing on my skin but only with 1 or 2 of sample sprays. A bit disappointed with the ALD6 as a whole. Santal Galore should be re-named Musk galore and Im not a big fan of dominant musk frags. Musk Lave just not in same league as say MEM. Grandenia I liked first part but deeper into dry down skin scent I just get endolic note which I find unpleasant. Cuir e Russie I think is better for me but again not very unique and do I want a garment frag?

      My favourite of the 5 also. I thought I was going to dislike this and Musk Lave and love Santal. Turns out that I don't like Santal at all. It reminds me of the smell of an Indian shop and Indian Bazaar. I'm getting Oud Noir and Musk Lave.

      @@qaidikramuddin I thought santal galore would be my favorite also but kinda glad its not as it will be most difficult to get. And musk lave and agar de noir have the best presentation! Which is just a nice bonus.

    The 5th collection contained an overly generous helping of synthetic civet, the 6th collection contains a very small amount, unfortunately I am "sensitive" to it, and it drowns out the other very beautiful ingredients, most people probably wouldn't notice it though It is least noticeable in Agar de Noir, but I'll still have to pass. Sad day for me! Loved and have Russian Oud, Baikal Gris, Walimah Attar, Oud Luwak, and Baikal Gris Attar!

      Thank you for your comment. Only 2 fragrances in the 5th collection had traces of synthetic civet. In the 6th collection we not used any synthetic civet.

      Areej le Doré Perfume thank you for letting me know! Unfortunately now I don’t know which ingredient is causing the problem! It was strongest in War and Peace.

    I couldn't get into this one, the sweetness was overwhelmingly saccharine and the medicinal quality was almost licorice-y

    How does it compare with bortnikoff and ensar oud?

    • @FragranceView
      @FragranceView  4 года назад +5

      I wasn't a big fan of Bortnifkoff from what I smelled to be honest, but I've not smelled all his work only a small selection.. Ensar doesn't use any synthetics at all in his blends he's very focused on purity of the art form and has a huge aversion to synthetics. Russian Adam is mixed media, but with emphasis on high quality naturals, I think they have quite different ideas and styles in approach. I probably gravitate a little more to Ensar's work overall for my personal taste, but I appreciate both of their work

    • @RichMitch
      @RichMitch 4 года назад +1

      @@FragranceView good question. I'd say Cuir de Russie. Though it has a staleness that I don't like, smells old. Like grandmothers house/cabbage vibe. And you can't wear it on skin either, so there's no chemistry aspect either. Seemed really pointless that, to me.
      I like the subsection of leathers that is cuir de Russie. I think you should tackle it btw

    • @Scythesabre
      @Scythesabre 4 года назад

      @@RichMitch I did not get anything that resembled typical leathers. Mostly a musk to me with a lot of stages and was quite nice while projecting for 11 or so hours. Did dry down to something old and that aspect sticks around. I think its best suited for one spray only and finely atomise so there is no concentrated spots to minimise the less desirable aspects.

    • @pami333
      @pami333 4 года назад

      It is a beautiful bottle that looks like a quality not seen often these days. I don't mind it being there and don't find in unprofessional. Actually I think it's a good idea to show the perfume the review is about, thoughout the whole video. I do not watch many reviews on YT, but as much as I have seen this kind of sets him apart from many of the others a bit.
      I understand though that opinions may differ, so maybe a compromise could be showing the bottle but using a pic that's a bit smaller and a bit less centered. Small changes might change the impression a lot.

    • @JoakimHallgren
      @JoakimHallgren 4 года назад

      @@pami333 Agreed. It could look good if it's a smaller picture to the side in some kind of frame around it. But the way it is just smashed on top of the video really does, in my opinion, look very unprofessional.
