      No kidding. I paid $5000 BELOW MSRP for a new 2023 Genesis GV70 in August. New 2024 models were arriving the following week. Even so, I shopped around and did not see as much price gouging as there was during the pandemic.

      @@1GekoKing 2.5L Sport Prestige. Like I said before, the local dealership was making room for the 2024 models that were coming in at the time. I always buy new vehicles towards the end of their model year for discounts. The pandemic kind of changed that but things appear to be going towards normal now that there is inventory.

    I just bought my vehicle I had them remove all the fees and markups get em at the end of the year so you can get a better deal because that's when they try to get there numbers in to get there bonus and more willing to work with you.

    Only in the US I think. In Canada, Genesis does not allow dealers to charge over MSRP.

    I have to believe the final prices shown in this video are what people are paying for trim level options above the base model. Who would be so stupid as to pay those kind of dealer markups?

    I went looking for a replacement car a year ago and none of the SUV’s I looked at were priced over MSRP. GV70, RDX, Macan, Volvo, So this is weird. I just got $10k off my 2023 SQ5 two weeks ago. Decent trade in offer to boot. I will NEVER pay at or over MSRP ever again.

      @@patriot4757 Best overall for me!! GV70 2.5 was good but I don’t trust Hyundai; did not like the X3, Volvo or RDX. Macan is too pricey. I’m enjoying the hell out of the Audi

    Well, I am angry to see the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid on the list! I was planning on getting one in late 2024 after my current lease ends, but if my local dealership (who've we purchased a 2023 Camry from recently) pulls the over MSRP bull crap on us, I'm going to walk -- back to my Hyundai dealership and either lease Hyundai #5, or tell them all to go to hell and buy my current vehicle at Lease end. Maybe they will then work with me if I have a lease buy-out option in my pocket! Thanks for a great video. Noticed that most the vehicles on your list are luxury cars, as if "rich" folks can afford to waste their money more than us "poor souls".

      They are also not watching this video. This is a lame attempt by manufacturers to create a false narrative so people think, well, everyone pays this. I’m in the same situation, my lease is up in June…low miles due to covid and still work from home often. Yeah, I would like to get something new, but I’ve had no issues and I’m not going to get screwed over for a smaller, cheaper made, less optioned vehicle. If consumers stop buying, it will drive down demand. I really don’t think most people are paying over MSRP for most vehicles

    I stopped with the Genesis GV80 after the video states that the average price people paid for it was thousands above the average MSRP which is around $59,000. The next point was that the top selling model is a loaded Prestige which lists for $22,000 more than the base model. Of course the average price people paid was going to be above $59,000 if most buyers are opting for the Prestige. That's not dealer markup.

      There marked up, a 2022-2023 used GV80 costs 67-68k, used ones cost more than a bmw x5.. let that sink in. It's an overpriced Hyundai that gets serviced at Hyundai.

    I was in the market for a new SUV for me back in end of 2022 summer then this past December for my wife. We both selected the ones we wanted then I started shopping/negotiating for them if I ever saw a dealer markup I immediately crossed them off the list. What kind of person would ever see that and say oh ok I’ll pay that…citizens who paid this hit an all new kind of stupid!

    This data is most likely based on 2021 and 2022 pricing versus current pricing. Supply chain is much better now and interest rates are horrible. Buyers have the power now relative to MSRP for most vehicles……

    The people paying additional dealer markups are not only being wasteful with their own money, but they are also being selfish. The only reason dealers are charging the markups is because people pay them. When people pay the markups not only are they rewarding the dealer's bad behavior, but they are also making car shopping harder for everyone else by encouraging dealers to continue with the markups.

      Do your diligent research to come to an acceptable price, walk-in a dealer with pre-approved loan, tell them in straight face 1 price (yours). If they start the bs, walk away. No negotiation.

      Do your research, decide on what you will pay. give the dealer your final offer. Walk if they start negotiating. If you are desperate for that car go ahead and pay which will cost every body else who likes that car.

    Dude, I got a fully loaded to the max $70k GV70 last month for only $64! And got 4,49% 60 months from them.
    Go find the unit that’s been sitting on thier lot past 90 days!!!

    !?! the 'suggested retail price' that u showed on a Mulroney label shows that that is the base price (like in the MB gl examples), which then get the options list, which in that case totalled about 10K so it's not overpriced at all! What is up with this channel and having no basis in reality!?!? I loathe dealers with a passion but u dn't know what u r talking about!!?/ what is up!?

    This is such a BS video...Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and everyone with desireable cars were marking up vehicles (anecdotally, Toyota and Honda were among the worst offenders imo). Search for dealerships who weren't doing this.. Today, you can walk into a Genesis dealership and find one at MSRP (at least my local Genesis dealership was doing this). You guys absolutely suck..
