In the 1830's The Shell Trading Company began selling exotic sea shells. They imported tropical shells and sold them as shell bejeweled boxes and such. As the importer (Marcus Samuel) was able to control the flow of shells and manipulate supply and demand. His son's inherited and began also selling kerosene and eventually the Shell Oil Company was born and still exists today. So this video using selling sea shells is amazing. (and also based on historical fact).
In the same vein. It amazes me that lobbying is allowed, considering it means corporations can buy government officials who donate mass amounts to their campaigns, but of course those officials are the ones making the lobbying rules so...

Technically politicians can’t pass bills to enrich themselves. Of course some do, but some have also been caught and forced out of office. Some will be all their investments into a blind trust for as long as they serve. What’s more significant to me is that legislators are often the ones who write and pass election laws. They literally write the rules for a contest they’re trying to win. That’s a far more foundational conflict of interest.
