Tbh. It's not really about the "solution". That's just soapy water. It's really about the brushes. Get a soft, mid, and hard brush and some dish soap and you gucci.

I used the same technique… came out great… although I noticed the nubuck doesn’t feel exactly the same anymore.

Use a nubuck/suede brush after they dry to make it buttery. I got the kit at Walmart

I know its 3 years later but you can push it back and heat it up with a heat gun.
