I can't find any pics. Are the Elac's ported on the back or are the closed?
@@jonny4036 back ported. You can see it in my full review linked above in the comment
Very beautiful to hear a man dedicated to his craft. Your passion is evident in every video. Thanks for being you.
Thank you sir! 🙏 Thank you for being you. (We're sounding like Mr. Rogers over here. 🤣)
The Elacs sounds fantastic.
I liked the pioneers because they had space and soundstage but the bass on the elacs was very impressive for cruising and chillin.
first time i'm actually sitting down with my open back headphones to listen to one of Joe's binaural demos and that was the first thing i noticed. Pioneers had waaay more space and soundstage.
Wow those elac's are quality for their size.🤯
I think bs22 controlled that bass a lot better and let the midrange through. elacs might have gone a little lower but it bloomed so much that its hard to tell what frequency was really coming through
The Pioneer BS22 still beats everything that even tries to come close
The Pioneer speakers sounded substantially better in my opinion, more open, clear, and HiFi. Nice comparison.
I'm going for the pioneers..
I'll take the Pioneer with a sub for sure! They seemed to have better highs and mids over RUclips. Now, if they were EQ'd, it might be different. There are too many variables, but I'm sticking with the Pioneer.
I have a near-field setup on my Computer desk using the Pioneers @ ear-level (seated), 3.5 ft apart along with a budget Parts Express 10" powered sub centered right at my feet....It isn't meant to get loud...but It can...for that occasional Air-drumming session. Really, the sound you can get from a "budget" SMSL DAC/Amp, bookshelf speakers and a little Subwoofer is pretty amazing 😁
demo'd the Elacs....great units....
BS41 sounds more smooth, the pioneers has a peak around 2-3k, really fatiguing
Put your mike in the center of the two speakers. I'm picking up more left side than both, but they sound great I agree with your assessment.
The mics are on my head and I don't have a perfectly centered seat.
Definitely more bass from ELAC BS41 but little boomy, you don't need a sub with these speakers. Pioneer BS22LR are more bright and bass is tight. I heard that ELAC BS41 is designed by Andrew Jones. I am glad that I am still using my Pioneer BS22LRs
The bs22 sounds so crisp and open, I had to turn down a hair.
The bs41 sounded slightly compressed, clean but not as present, I really liked their sound...
Till the pioneers slapped that smug look of contentment off my face.
Again with this Andrew Jones designed speaker you might want to replace the sand caste resistor on the tweeter circuit with a lower value thin film one. Wondering what he is doing today. Maybe we find out soon.
Monolith Encore B6 vs these two?
I'd go for the Elac since it sounds like it has more meat on the bones. The pioneers sound thin and fatiguing.
With extra subs the Pioneer sounds better. As you said Joe, they are still sounding very good.
i'm team pioneer on this one however the ELACs certainly weren't bad
The Pioneer’s have muuuch better imaging and staging.
Great review. Just call them. Debut B 4.2 styling same.
Im definitely getting the Elacs since i have fs52 and bs21..... deeper bass is fun on the Elacs but the midrange and treble goes to pioneer
Elac`s compromised the mids for more woofy bass. Zero interest in them.
Those background vocals are so lush.
Kudos to the mixing engineer on those vocals. They sat in the mix perfectly.
Yeah, I know this is a speaker review, but the musician in me came out 😎😎😎😎
For it's price? How can you beat the Pioneers? With the money you save, you can buy a sub if you think it needs a bass punch.
Elac sounds more fuller and natural in low-middle range. BS22 is really overrated, I sold my BS22 and kept BS21 that is much better
sounds like the pioneers are maybe more sensitive
Great demo Thanks! Just wondering, how do these compare to the Micca MB42X's?
Sorry Micca, but it kills them
@@joentell Does that go for the RB42s as well?
@@thomaswachter7782 RB42 is closer. What the RB42 does right is have way more bass than you would ever expect from such a small speaker.
I like the midrange on the ELACs
The Pioneers are a bit bright. Not horrible though.
too hard to compare adequately they way the two sounds don’t touch closely snd often.
To me the Pioneers are a bit harsh.
Pioneer all day
To me ELAC without Jet5 tweeter aren't ELAC . BS244.3 are the way.
Baller!
at this point....BS22
I'm always interested in hearing your reasoning.
@@leojack987 you can see I still own mine. My FS52's (I owned 2 pairs) were destroyed in a storage fire.
