After months of documenting celebrations on home soil, I’m delighted to finally spread my wings for a destination wedding, and where better than the beautiful shores of Italy’s Lake Como!
Together with the talented Fabrizio Vigano, we captured the lovely Hayley & Max exchanging vows at the most historic Villas in Lake Como - Villa Pliniana.
Villa Pliniana’s rich history will add a level of sophistication and intrigue to your destination wedding that is unmatched! The villa was built in 1573 by Count Giovanni Anguissola, governor of Como, on 18 waterfront acres surrounding an intermittent fresh-water spring that bursts out of the earth at unpredictable times. Over the centuries, the Villa has gone through periods of alternating fortune and decay as it has passed through the hands of several owners. It also has a history of housing many famous guests, including poets, composers, politicians, novelists, and artists. It is even said that Napoleon himself stayed at the Villa and played the same billiards that are still there today. What a beautiful wedding story to be able to tell in future years!
