Love the ambo. Perfect to have as a camper van. If your dog is chewing stuff up, that means she's bored. She's very young and needs to be stimulated. Short/long walks won't do. She needs to run for at least 90 minutes to 2 hours. Get lots of different chew toys and you guys should be very happy together :-)
yep. I've trained all my dogs to fetch tennis balls. my current little girl looks alot like his. she chews up a tennis ball every two days. kong toys dont last a few if i dont run her hard. everyday. if i run her good no problems. if i dont she turns into a little devil dog. my fault if she does.
very cool just i hope you let that big beautiful dog out and let him run around alot the way he supposed to because he will go crazy if hes stuck in a small room all day
Crate training is a fantastic idea. She's going to have the chewing instinct until she gets out of her puppy phase, which could last until she's 2 years old. In the mean time, give her something to chew on so she won't destroy stuff you don't want destroyed. A Kong toy is a fantastic investment.
Great ,great setup. An ambulance seems like the best way to go. I had never thought of that but it's brilliant. I've been watching a ton of these van dwelling videos lately and they're really inspiring and have so many great ideas in them. Really considering doing this. I'm so sick of the rat race; it depresses the hell out of me. I'm probably too old to pull it off though. lol.
came over from Into The Mystery 13 vid u did, your ambulance is dope all u need is a 12 volt fridge & a loogaloo with lots of trash bags & urine bottle that's it then your home is official I dig it
You need to put a soft bed in her kennel. You can get them for about 20 bucks. Thats probably why she doesnt like to go in there. Both my dogs ha e tbeirs set up in the house and they go in and out as they please. They love theirs.
People get too enamored with "pure sine" inverters. As a farmers' market musician, I have used lesser expensive inverters to operate my PA system outdoors. If you aren't operating delicate electronics, it just doesn't matter.
I have a few questions about your ambulance camper. Do you have a portable camp toilet inside your ambulance or do need to stop somewhere if you need to use one ? Do you have any experience relaxing and falling asleep in a LAZBOY recliner ? I would want to have both a bed and a recliner inside the ambulance that way if I have trouble falling asleep on a bed I could relax and fall asleep in a recliner instead. How long can you run all of your electrical items in your ambulance camper before you run out of power ? Does your inverter shut down automatically when the voltage drops too low to the point that you could not start your diesel engine? How often do you need to run the engine in order to fully recharge your batteries ? How often do you need to refuel your ambulance camper with diesel ?
I had a 5 gallon bucket with toilet seat. Would use bags for waste. I’m not sure a lazy boy would fit. And if it did fit I wouldn’t like how much room it would take up. The only thing I would run is the LED lights without running the ambulance because it didn’t have separate house batteries. Planned on running the box on solar but never got to do it. It had a 200a alternator so it wouldn’t take very long to charge the batteries. That’s 2400w of charging power. I got about 16-18 mpg and it had a 50 gallon tank. I hope this answers your questions.
@@DjVendetta I know that I would still want to have a lazboy recliner and a bed since I want to be able to rock myself to sleep in a rocker recliner. I do this often now. I was thinking of using a inflatable mattress that way I would have both a reckiner and a bed. I would use a electric pump to inflate the mattress when I want to along with the rocker recliner. Would this work in this situation ?
+DJ Vendetta Get that's not half bad! I'm hunting for something. Keep changing my mind. I really like that gas mileage and that you can stand up. Would you ever desire to add a mini wood burning stove? Not even sure you would need to add that. What do you think when you've seen people install them? Have you seen them installed?
I have several other questions about your ambulance camper. Are you able to get some sleep with the diesel engine running ? I did see that your diesel engine is pretty quiet with the cab pass through door closed. Do you have the ability to run the AC and heater off of the main engine ?
Yes it was much quieter with the door closed, but to be honest the noise from the engine would help me sleep. But obviously with the door closed. The AC was part of the cabs ac system. The engine had to be running to use it.
@@DjVendetta Another idea that I have is to possibility of having a recliner only and no bed. I know that I do fall asleep faster on a recliner and stay asleep longer. Would you be able to fall asleep in a recliner yourself ?
Hey DJ Vendetta, I also have considered an ambulance but I was told by the time the medics let one go it's pretty much shot. Did you have to put much $$$ into yours when you first got it?
When looking for one, make sure it still has all the equipment. Even if your not going to use it, it's a lot easier to remove excess wiring and equipment if it's still there. If they remove the equipment it's usually a hack job that leaves a lot of exposed wires that can short out and mess things up. Only buy one that is rust free. I would also suggest to go for the 7.3. As the 6.0 has issues that can be remedied but is costly. The 6.4 is junk. The 6.7 is awesome but expensive to repair. Try and fine one with less then 200k on it as it will still give you another 300k or so of good miles. If it's a 7.3, the transmissions are ok as long as they are taken care of. Make sure the tranny fluid looks good and it doesn't slip or throw a code. You will know something is wrong with it if the OD light flashes. Many can be found in great shape but you have to do your due diligence to find one. They typically are cared for very well as in regular maintenance schedules so the best idea is to buy one from the government not a private seller. Don't go with a medium duty unless you have a good budget for repairs if they are needed.
DJ Vendetta Hope she's as happy there as she was with you. Keep on keeping on. Hopefully the job situation is better now. Which state are you in? Are you near Kentucky now?

so those little brown dots that are by the fan that's Betadine or iodine they use for prepping when they have to put in an IV
Thanks that was a lot of help. I have heard the 7.3 engines are better less problems

nice ambulance. get your doggy some big bones to chew on!
I found her a better home last year. But stay tuned for my new build that I will be starting soon.
One question: why is there not a little something for your dog to lay on in the cage instead of just the bars on the floor?
Cause she would chew it apart.
Not a fan of crates, try a muzzle. That's what I use and has worked out well.
No need, she has a new home now.
this is sick!
Thanks man!

I'm thinking of getting an ambulance, what are the registration options for something like this for personal use as a daily driver/camper?
Sweet! I looked at an ambulance recently for this purpose. I love the fact they are bullet proof. How's the gas mileage?
I get 14-18mpg and they are a great platform to start with.

what kind of mileage do you get?
Up to 18 on the highway.

Wow.. i'm sold.. just about to sell our rv to buy a van but now I'm on the hunt for an ambulance lol.. wife says go for it..
new sub.

cute pup.. we have her smaller twin..
Awesome! If you get a ford make sure it's a turbo diesel. My non turbo strains a lot trying to go up hills.
same mileage my schoolie gets.
Get her some rawhides, or huge bones from a butcher ( most of the time for free ).
DirtySouthTV thanks for the advice however she has a new home.
DJ Vendetta Hope she's as happy there as she was with you. Keep on keeping on. Hopefully the job situation is better now.
