    I was watching my ducks and how they so rapidly strain water through their bills 😄😄 and thought: what sort of weird sounds could I make by attaching a contact mic to the side of their water pan? 😆🤣

    Great video! Seems to be endless possibilitys with the field kit. I have a question about the coloured cables that are frequently used and have a female end on top of the male end. What is the purpose with them and Where can I find them?

    • @CatSynthTV
      @CatSynthTV  2 года назад +2

      Thanks! I think you are referring to the "stackable cables" - these are the ones that have a male connector and a female connector for connecting a second cable to the same jack. Several manufacturers (TipTop Audio, Intellijel, etc.) make them and they can be found at most outlets that sell modular synths.

    Interesting. I love playing with sound. I want to be able to take the electrical resistance from a plant and on ert that into midi using an ipad, is this pos ?

    • @CatSynthTV
      @CatSynthTV  3 года назад +1

      It should be possible. You would need to convert the raw sensor data to CV (which the Field Kit does) or directly to MIDI. Arduino is also a possible way to go for this.

      @@CatSynthTV Sounds great, wish I knew more about Ardunio? Am a dysleix monkey, though not an idiot. I presently feed 2 radio stations working in pararel, switching back and forth, and feeding the signals into 2 beatcutters, then resampling the results into 6 samplers. Though would love now to experiment with plants. There are devices out there alreedy but the are expensive and have preprogrammed ideas regarding scales and musical note conversion etc. Thanks for your quick reply

      @@ToastedGhost The radio station projects sounds cool, as does the idea to work with plants. Good luck!

      There are inexpensive humidity sensors for Arduino that you can connect to the sensor input of the FK via Dupont cables. That gives you CV. You’d then need a CV to MIDI interface.
      Alternatively if you have miRack you could try to take the CV and convert it there.

    It would be nice if they put a looper on this, and let you layer the loops. I guess using a pedal fx looper along with it would let you make some cool stuff. I have a MPC Live 2 that I could use too. I kind of want one. I'm getting into ambient music, after being a hip hop producer for many years. I'm not into hip hop much anymore. The older I get, the less I can relate to the genre. Especially rap that's coming out now. I like experimental ambient music. I love weird textures, rhythms, and tones. I'm getting away from daws and vsts, and I'm slowly building my hardware setup. I have a MPC Live 2, Korg Minilogue XD, Novation Laucnhkey, and I just ordered a small mixer to run into my interface, so I can track and mix in my computer. I still plan on using my computer for post production, but hardware is going to be what I focusing on. Software companies are too greedy. Some companies won't even let me resell the products that I paid thousands of dollars for, and others want paid again to transfer licenses. I'm becoming a software hater.

    Well done! I consider to by me one kit.
    How is the kind of the yellow patch cable named? Never saw it before. I mean, I can find pix online with only on TM named "tiptop" and then find some at eBay to purchase it only from GB but not have any idea of the name of it´s design in mind.
    Greetings from Germany!

      Modularaddict(dot)com calls them Stacking Eurorack Patch Cables. Elsewhere they are called stackable 3.5mm TS cables.
