I agree that the show does a fantastic job making an impossible book into a show. My only issue is how boring Dourne and the Sandsnakes are in the show.
Yeah, that was a bit of a shame. I'm not a book reader, just a viewer, so I don't have that scale, but boring storylines anywhere are disappointing, especially with the potential it had. Same goes for all of season 7
I would LOVE to see a revisited season 6 since this is when they started the immediate reactions to the series and well now that the series is done, wonder how things would change, plus the overall quality improvement now. I mean this is still very enjoyable

I’ve been through this before with adaptations of books to film/series and there are always some disappointments but regardless what’s left out or changed this show is amazing. The books are classics on their own but D&D did a remarkable job in my opinion.

There was no point of a sit down with Thorne and Snow. Thorne killed Snow because he hated him, and Snow knew it years ago... everything else was details.
I think Ned did hear Bran in some way shape or form, but it wouldn't have changed anything, cause if him hearing Bran had caused anything it would a ready be in effect. It's like with Hold the Door, it hasn't happened yet, but it has, it's a closed loop. Greenseer's sorta have the ability to change the past, but into the past that they already know. So I think they more guide history into it's inevitable fate.
Well put about the nit-picky book readers. I too have read and watched and I love both but as separate entities and it has been said that they are in fact two different things so they should just stop moaning and enjoy it for what it is - a great fucking show.
Why is this episode called Oathbreaker though? Brienne didn't even show up! At some point I was looking up episode names, when I saw "Oathbreaker" I was like "Holy Shit, wtf is Brienne gonna do in season 6?". Apparently not much
I'm a book reader. I haven't yet seen GoT on TV, but I've picked up a few things. The one thing I miss is Martin's breadcrumbs and the fact that he almost always ties up loose threads. The other thing is the lack of subtlety in the sex scenes. Especially Khal Drogo, who in the book turns out to be a sensitive lover, a man Daenerys could legitimately love. The show seems to have taken the lazy low road in that scene.
Agree 100% on the stuck up book readers. I read the books and watch the show too. Each have their pros and cons, if you want to bitch about everything the show does differently just don't watch.
