Must be regional on how to pronounce Bream. I have always heard it said breAm....with the A pronounced (to rhyme with dream)....not Brim (to rhyme with rim)....like you are saying it, Paul....neither is right or wrong, just depends on where you live!
I actually find the fact that they show the color of the fish's flesh extremely disgusting. I'm not even vegetarian or vegan, I just think showing a "living thing" that isn't a zombie with exposed flesh like nothing wrong is terrible.
Still, a bare handful of people DO die every year from consuming it due to respiratory failure. This is why the flesh (ostensibly not toxic, but again) is served plated in the formation of a chrysanthemum, a flower representing death.
