I have done minor winter camping with this bag. It has helped me get fantastic sunset and sunrise landscape pictures in the Swedish archipelago. The combination of a relative hugh topp compartment and the expandable outside compartment can bring a long food, water, jacket, gloves, headlamp, extra monopod, fleece jacket and a bit more than that. I am considering some light weight camping with it. A tent or sleeping bag can be carried underneath.
It is versatile, last weekend it was used as a camera bag during a 14 hrs wedding shoot, providing all gear and food/water and lots more.

You can get a lot into it can't you, makes it pretty versatile as you can adapt to what you're doing!

Hello Adam. Many thanks for getting back to me after I commented on for initial review of this bag. This follow-up review is also very well presented and, in my view, a prospective buyer would certainly feel more equipped, no pun intended, before making a purchase. I would like to add that based on both reviews I have purchased the smaller BP 350 AW version and am very pleased with the quality and general utility of this camera bag. If there is a slight downside it would be that the bag is a little heavier than I would have liked. But hey! I may help me to get fitter. Always a good thing. Finally, many thanks again. And good luck with any future Vlogs. Daniel

Thanks for sharing! What's the longest/heaviest tripod you've mounted on the backpack? I'm looking for something that can support my big Benro (35" collapsed with ball head). Cheers!

I have this bag, it’s good sturdy and trust it in wet weather. I got it because of your first review the only thing I think is missing on this bag is mesh / elastic pockets on the side to fit a water bottle in

Glad you found the first review helpful! Do you like them side pockets? I've never got on with them, end up losing my stuff when I've used them

Like yourself I have my tripod on the side so can’t fit much more than a map in it. I do like the top pocket nice size and keeps it shape.

Спасибо большое за обзор после года использования. Забрал сегодня из магазина, но не ожидал, что будет такой большой. Посмотрим, как он себя покажет в условия России :)

    Awesome review, thanks for this.
Do you happen to have a tried the Flipside Trek 450 AW? I'm stuck between these two bags.
At the moment I mostly do 5-6 hour walks/hikes but I'm now packing a Sigma 150-600mm so my trusty Manfrotto street is going to need to be relegated to commuting bag only. I do think I may be doing longer trips and maybe even 1 night camping so more tempted by the larger models like this Whistler 450 AW but I guess that may even be too small so perhaps camping may require a whole other bag.

Great review. Are the waist straps removable? I find at times they can be annoying and get in the way. Also have you flown with this bag? Is it ok for cabin or is it to big?

The waist straps aren't removable, they're pretty solidly attached if I'm not using the waist straps I tend to just clip them together and have them hang down behind my back so they don't get in the way.
I have flown but I put my bag inside my suitcase and carried my camera in a smaller bag. When I got to the airport though it looked like it would have fit, think it might be a close call depending on who checks you in, I didn't feel like risking it

That's happening to you as well then! Don't understand how they can change it by £50 randomly. When I uploaded this it was £280 now it's £228.00. It's like they change it depending on what you search for...
