Why did the "bye baby bat!!" Make me tear up a little bit?? I'm sitting here at 22 years old, finally comfortable exploring my darker/more alt side again after losing that part of myself for awhile, and something in you guys' words just healed my heart. Thank you.
Sweetie I'm 40, started getting back into my authentic Goth/Alt self after having some traumatic stuff. Gave up on the lifestyle for a bad relationship, had to be a 'responsible mother' but when my own mother died I realised she wasted a lot of her life conforming to other people and I wasn't going to do that anymore. It's never too late to be yourself and make yourself happy and yes, that 'bye baby bat' made me tear up too. Going to see Fall Out Boy this year and relive what I missed out on by trying to be what other people thought I should be. Alt Adults are awesome too ❤
Honestly, emo/scene kids are some of the sweetest and most kindest people I have ever met, because we're ALL going through something, they just understand that more than most people.
This made my day ! There are so many people out there who will bully you for your looks, but honestly, they aren't worth your time. It's people like you I look up to because you're cool and don't care if I'm emo, scene, or any style really !

The interactions I’ve had with emo girls have been some of the best out of many people I’ve met throughout my life. They are some of the kindest people I’ve ever met. That being said keep the smiles going around. The world need it right now.
The gesture of acceptance almost made me shed a tear. Originally it was just about such: Being accepted for some way I am. But I just remembered the troubles I've been having with switching to wet shaving and using a more traditional razor. I cut myself on the lip in two places and on the lower-left of my chin, and I just don't feel confident about my facial hair situation, one that is also coupled with a bad case of acne that only now is starting to finally come under control. I guess I never did have high self esteem, but the cause is for another day, if at all to be uttered. Many thanks, friend. The world needs more kindness and tolerance from my point of view.
