This is hard to explain but with sock laying on table push heel in then glue edges when putting on gnome put that little indentation on side where hat fall over no cutting at all. Hope you understand I do not make youtube but thought you might like this tip.. Absolutely love you gnomes..thanks

Hi Duane , I have a suggestion,. Wen I use to sew, I used a large safety pin,. I would pin one part of the open end, NOT BOTH PIECED, only one single material, than close the safety pin, tuck the pin DOWN that open end, start to push down the pin & material down threw the center pushing the pin down the center gradually pushing the pin & material untill one reaches the other end & one sees the head of the safety pin. Than the material easily turns inside out. I hope this helps ur followers
Thanks for the excellent explanation and patterns! Your gnomes are adorable. I have a tip to seal the gnome body after stuffing. I use a small wire tie. It works great!!
You can cut the sick in half across the heel and use the toe part filled for the body and the cuff end for a hat. Great for mixing different socks together to get a cute gnome.
For felt arms try using a dowel. Wrap the felt around the dowel. Overlap the seam and glue or sew. Place the overlapped seam against the body as usual so it won’t be seen. Then you don’t have to turn the felt for the arms.

You can also glue a piece of ribbon on one open end of the arm. Then just pull the ribbon through and turn the arms inside out that way
Tweezers and hemostats work great

Duane - use curves needle nose pliers and insert through sleeve. Grab edge and then pull through the sleeve. Game changer!!!
Another A ++++++ for your creation. Would love to make them but I’m having trouble finding that texture of socks. But as always beautiful 😍
Wow thank you. I started out by buying women’s socks at Target or Walmart. I also have bought fleece socks on Amazon.

Using needle point plyers works for sleeves.

You need a bodkin to turn things inside out. It's a sewing tool.
he likes to give people options when they may not have all of the tools. He's mentioned them before.

Where do you find solid wooden balls, please? I can only find balls with holes drilled through them, as for jewelry making.
