  • Jesus has promised us to live an abundant life. This life is not about living for ourselves but living to accomplish the purpose of the Lord. Many of us are fearful when we hear this because it means that we would need to step out of our comfort zone and take up some roles and responsibilities that God would assign to us.
Joshua faced two great challenges, one is to take over the leadership role from Moses and two, to complete the conquest of the Promised Land. These two tasks are humongous. It is definitely not easy to take over a spiritual giant like Moses and conquer a land full of strong and mighty enemies. Joshua needed the strength of the Lord. This is not nothing he could accomplish based on his own strength. His strength is basically rested on two promises of God, one is the promise of victory and two, the promise of God's presence. But yet these promises of God is dependent on one important condition: obedience of the people. God's promise only works if we are obedient to Him. We can only live an abundant life if we are obedient to the Lord, and God would bless us with strength to overcome different challenges in life so that we can accomplish His purpose.
