i always use a bookmark! i love the process of going through all my bookmarks and trying to find one that perfectly matches the vibe of the book i'm about to start reading! i also always organize things by height! i try to have the books the same height on each shelf if possible because differing heights bother me so much
I counted my books recently and I own almost 1200 books (which I have somehow managed to cram into 8 bookcases). I go to library book sales, retail stores, and second-hand bookstores way too much and have accumulated these over 9 years. And yes, most of it is unread. And yes, that will not stop me from buying more. 90% of my collection is old history books, but I too have the bad habit of collecting series without reading it first or even buying the books out of order.
I used to have 200-300 books, but I live in NYC, so I have small living spaces, rent, and move a lot. I have some books at my family's home, but I've slowly decluttered and moved toward using my Kobo more. Now, if I buy a book, it has to be beautiful or unique physically. Otherwise, I buy it ebook. I have about 50-60 books now, and I keep whittling it down, and I hope to actually have about like 20-30 books in the long-term. (I try to donate my books to a shelter.) I don't re-read much, so I only keep my absolute favorites or things I reference, like non-fiction, cookbooks, etc.
My husband doesn't use bookmarks at ALL. it's absolutely pathological to me. He just closes a book and then picks it up later and is just like "oh yeah. Chapter 37. That's where I was" 😮
The amount of videos from 2+ years ago that I had to fill my days with during this 2 week break 😭 I've missed you, very quickly have become my favorite booktuber. And to answer your question, I personally do use my bookmark... my one sad little bookmark lol.
Oh, I’ve DEFINITELY outgrown my library space. Goodreads says I own 625 books, but it doesn’t let you include multiples, so I know I’m closer to 640. Next year has to be a read-off-my-shelf year. 💀
I feel the pain involved in this video. Organizing my bookshelves is a never ending project. Mostly due to my personal ocd issues. I like to organize by colour and height but also like to have series together. Makes it pretty much impossible to be satisfied 😅💀
The British Library has been publishing these short-story horror collections written by 1800s (or older) authors. Each chapter, you get a little backstory about the author, and then a short story they wrote. Gorgeous cover art, and they are all color-coded, too. As of late, I've been reading: Penny Bloods: Gothic Tales of Dangerous Women, The Open Door: And Other Stories of the Seen & Unseen, and Visions of the Vampire: Two Centuries of Blood-Sucking Tales. 💀
I read a lot of books on the train while going to work etc. and I always pick out a bookmark when I pick out a book, so it's already in there even if I don't start it immidiately xD I do own 30ish bookmarks or more so it's not a problem for me 😂
Girl yesss!! I love you & all your books & your content! I have roughly about 1,000 physical books 😅probably more by now. I just love books so much & I’ve been reading since I was 7-8 years old & never stopped 📚📖🤍
i have a shed in my backyard that i turned into a library because I was outgrowing my shelves in my bedroom. I completely understand all your problems. I have completely stopped buying manga (even though they are beautiful and I love them) and only allow myself to buy it if it's omnibus and or very few volumes. I also don't really buy series anymore, and I will allow myself to buy the second book only after reading the first just cuz I know I have only a certain amount of shelves and once I outgrow those then they can't even be in the designated library anymore and I need other spaces for them and that just doesn't work for me and my brain. I need everything uniform or i will die lol 💀
I have easily over 800 books. I use them as decor everywhere at this point. Because apartment living does not allow for the space needed for the amount of bookshelves I need 😅
I tried to track all the physical books I owned in a spreadsheet. Stopped at 500. Bought plenty more since then. Most in boxes in my basement because I don't have enough bookcases. This doesn't count ebooks, audiobooks, books in my office at work, or books still in storage at my parent's.
I feel this whole video on my soul 💀😹 I had my read/unread books separated and then had my 2024 TBR on its own shelf, but then I got annoyed with them so now everything’s just by genre & then target audience & alphabetical. I never thought of separating read/unread within genres & I love that.
According to goodreads I have 932 books lol I have a huge living room that I have my library in and I turned my small dining room into our living room. My husband and kids just have to deal because I can't help myself and wouldn't even if I could!
knew i loved u immediately when i saw hex, tender of the flesh and dead silence ❤❤ i love horror manga too and finished stitches and ptsd radio and also just read you like it darker and Ariadne
It looks so good 💀I am also a book collectors and have been since I was a kid, so I am with you on this one 😅 Though most of mine is boxed away as I don't have room until we move 🫠 But this is absolute goals so well done 🫡
Bookmarkers, yes! Listen, but I only use the ones that I've made from tearing up tea and other beverage boxes. I use these markers in books that I give as gifts too. They are cute AF. I have them stashed around my place. 💀
I've got 700+ books, and I'm starting to question myself about if i should buy this or that book i want because they don't fit anymore in my library. I bought another bookshelf and it's full already.
I use only one cherished bookmark..I recently accidentally left it in a library book and the librarian savior found it before the next person got the book hold. I would love to see like TBR take down or challenge type video. Those are a lot of fun watching lately..💀
I, too, am a book ho. I have over 3,500 books and that doesn't include e-books. I have them all over my house and in two storage units. I also purchase entire series and then I don't read them for years. I'm certain I WILL read them at some point. But I love them. I may have a problem, but books can see me coming and they just know that I can't leave them behind. It's pathetic. It's glorious. I'm not changing. Keep rambling. 💀 (BTW - your library rocks and looks WAY better than mine.) I also have dozens of bookmarks, but I always use the same one all the time. Did I mention that I have a problem? Time to take my medication. See ya Tiff.
I currently as of Monday August 26, 2024 at 3:46pm eastern time have 1094 books. It’s disgusting, but in the most beautiful way possible. I could have 1,094 bottles of alcohol, 1,094 stolen items or 1,094 cats so I’m good with my books.
I love watching your videos and could listen to you talk about anything., Maybe the next voice over video you could do a q&a., Thanks for your content! Byyyeeee =)
Living vicariously. Oh how I miss the feel of an actual book in my hands. Watching you organize was very relaxing. It was fun seeing the kitties help too!💀
See, I only have my room for space for books (because I can't afford to move out of my parents house lol I love life 😭) so I have to be mindful, very demure, with my purchases and if I don't like a book it's gone. But I live vicariously through these videos and your bookshelves. 💀 I'm the realest.
New Horror I loved: Bury Your Gays by Chuck Tingle! Can't stop thinking about it. The Eyes Are The Best Part by Monika Kim also incredible. A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher, I Was A Teenage Slasher by Stephen Graham Jones, Dear Hanna by Zoje Stage, You Like It Darker by Stephen King. And I definitely thought you were a gay vampire for sure....a gampire if you will. Or maybe vampgay?
Just finished Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay and it was like 3.5 stars. It had a handful of unsettling scenes but just overall didn't land for me. However today I picked up We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer because I was getting fomo and HOLY SHIT this writing?! I'm obsessed already. 💀
5:52 car in the toilet alert, what will they find? Edit: I'm a height girlie as well! I like it when books are moreso organized by height than color or genre 💀
My mom worked in a hospital and she had a terminal patient that got bad news and broke down and said I never had enough pretty. 💀 Opened up a switch in me and I will purchase the things that are beautiful now. Even if they are more expensive.
💀 I've been collecting books since middle school and I'm a book hoarder lol. Didn't count all my books but I'm pretty sure I have about 500 since I never unhaul.
We have 3 readers whose books have spilled over from bedrooms into my bookroom, the 5 stars are in the living room, and Stephen King lives in the dining room. 😂 💀
My library is a whole room too- I buy second hand but reading is the thing that brings me so much joy and my library is a great representation of who I am. Never feel guilty in having a library- you have a room of adventures waiting for you to read! 💀
I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed so much watching one of your videos 😂 Bless Tiffany and these video diaries dedicated to her Also bookmark garbage all the way ✌️💀
I also buy entire series without reading the first one and knowing if I would like it. But to justify it I say to myself, I'm a person that like to finish things, and to finish the series I started I have to almost binge read and for that I need to have them at my disposal. And I also don't have the money to buy books on a whim. So if I buy them all, I will read them all. If I don't like the first book, I can sell the books and regain 3, 4 or more spaces on the shelves. It's a win-win situation... Then I proceed to not read them either. 💀 My dream is also to be a gay vampire, I'm 50% there anyway.
☠Loved this! I have a pretty small collection (maybe 50 novels in total?) and I really struggled to reorganise my collection recently because I'm running out of space so this is highly relatable even though I'm not much of a book collector (libraries for the win for broke biches)
I never usually comment on videos 🙁 but I just had to on this one. I loved your voiceover and you remind me so much of the character Abby Normal in a book trilogy I read by Christopher Moore, Bloodsucking Fiends (she is more present on the last book-Bite Me). It’s basically about this guy that falls in love with a newly turned vampire and all the stupid shit that happens to them while trying to figure out her new vampire powers and Abby Normal is his “assistant”. If you haven’t read them I highly recommend them.
the Tiffany lore deepens every time. I am seated to hear more, Mother.
Please, please, please never script a voiceover. This was fabulous. 💀
This voiceover was amazing. Please do this every time 💀
Love the kitty's helping sort
The gay vampire rant was truly life changing because your so right- what more could anyone want to be in life if not a gay vampire?
i always use a bookmark! i love the process of going through all my bookmarks and trying to find one that perfectly matches the vibe of the book i'm about to start reading!
i also always organize things by height! i try to have the books the same height on each shelf if possible because differing heights bother me so much
Jordaline being slick pretending she is not a gay vampire already, to throw us off the trail.
This was the funnest book organization video I’ve ever seen. And if it helps I have a larger library. We’re all severely addicted lol
90% of my collection is old history books, but I too have the bad habit of collecting series without reading it first or even buying the books out of order.
this was my second video of you, and that voice over .... unhinged ! im directly subscribing !!!!!

The cat sticking his head in the toilet 😂 did not expect that what a treat, your videos are always so great
I used to never use bookmarks until I started grabbing one immediately when I would take a book out to read. Then it would just live with the book.💀
My husband doesn't use bookmarks at ALL. it's absolutely pathological to me. He just closes a book and then picks it up later and is just like "oh yeah. Chapter 37. That's where I was" 😮
Today's bookmark was a Pringles lid. I usually end up using postits
Honestly, this is a close to Zen meditation as I get: watching someone reorganize their books.
Love seeing the kitties ‘helping’ u organize.
They so cuuuuute! ❤

I'd love to see you show off all of your horror novellas. I want to buy all of them!! 💀
I love using my magnetic bookmarks since they don't fall out, but I never use any of my beautiful paper ones, lol

I want a beautiful library as full and bountiful as yours! Also, bookmarks?! I don't know them 💀
Hi! My name is Phil and I own Geronimo’s Books in Santa Fe, NM. You have a fabulous collection! And my wife and I Cancers too, so we get it.
i try to pick a bookmark that i'm vibing with before i start reading but sometimes i don't pick one for the same reasons 😂
So I loved Paul tremblay’s new book for what that’s worth.
I've missed you Jordaline!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm not grounded YOU'RE GROUNDED! 🖤💙
💀 can't get enough of your videos mate 😂

Great reorganization. I based my nooks on genre and especially height as well 📚🧋
💀 I loved the voice over 😂
I recently read Poking Holes.. what a ride.

I love the outcome!!! 💀
Loved this!! 💀
I see you have The Age of Miracles. I loved that book. ❤
I've got 700+ books, and I'm starting to question myself about if i should buy this or that book i want because they don't fit anymore in my library. I bought another bookshelf and it's full already.
I have outgrown my shelves and carts! Now I just like them on the floor........700 books and counting over here.
I use only one cherished bookmark..I recently accidentally left it in a library book and the librarian savior found it before the next person got the book hold.
I would love to see like TBR take down or challenge type video. Those are a lot of fun watching lately..💀
Your library looks bee-U-tee-ful! Nice job Jordaline! I just finished Grey Dog by Elliot Gish, I think you'd love it, its soo good! 📚✌️❣️
Very nice library!
It's so interesting to me to see how the colors of certain genres look together. 💀
Question...where did you get your bookcases from?
The voiceover was everything 💀

You’re over 1,000! You have a proper library! 😍
@@thejenmath I know!!! That’s the reason I had no buying ban at all. Although I don’t believe in buying bans…..just shop smart.
@@BrendaETobar can you imagine the smell. I would have to have a second house preferably 1,094 miles away.
Love this video. Your Folk of the Air series is out of order at the beginning . It hurts my poor brain 🤣
I love watching your videos and could listen to you talk about anything., Maybe the next voice over video you could do a q&a., Thanks for your content! Byyyeeee =)
These livestreams were incredible tho
Living vicariously. Oh how I miss the feel of an actual book in my hands. Watching you organize was very relaxing. It was fun seeing the kitties help too!💀
I organise by genre and then by height. Height is excellent!
I've been OBSESSED with your channel lately, and thank you for posting I just ran out of things to listen to during work 😭
Also 💀

😂❤ you are so entertaining. I need to check my coins so I too can be a patron.
I also have a large tbr, I love it 😅 💀
💀☠ "nothing was being popped" 😂
Would love to know how many unread versus read you have.
Love your videos 💀
I still need to buy another bookcase to organize all the new books I got this year!! 💀
💀Love the video, and the voice over
I have to stack my books by size, height and width to be precise ! 📚📕📖📚💀❤
