Where I live in North Carolina USA some farmers grow fields of tomatoes using no irrigation and some do not stake or trellis either. They use bush or determinate type fast producing varieties such as Early Girl dwarf plants. If the weather cooperates they get a nice crop.
Honestly I found this video so helpful. I've already realized the multitude of mistakes I made when I planted my tomatoes 4 weeks ago. Never again 🙅🏽♂️
This was really useful. Thank you. May we have more of these videos with practical examples. Q: may you explain more about seedling gardening. Is it done for all plants or just tomatoes?
We get into the argument for till Vs. no till agriculture. Both have merits and unwanted consequences. My takeaway is, if you till, you must protect your land from becoming a worn out useless wasteland. One way is a good cover crop or green manure. In addition to crop rotation, if possible the land should be given some time off from producing food for us and our animals.
