Pro Tip - I was so tired of always changing the sizes on my PowerPoint to make it 8.5x11 every time that I made a worksheet or labels. So I made a blank powerpoint that was 8.5x11 and saved it as a template. I made one for both orientations and saved them by that name, so I have a 'landscape' template and a 'portrait' template. Now when I open PowerPoint and it takes me to the template page, I click the tap on the top from 'featured' to 'personal' and then chose whichever one I need. I don't have to ever touch the page set up or remove the text boxes that are automatically included. It has saved me so much time.
When you select all your objects, there's an option on one of the menus at the top to align them all to centre. Then you know everything is perfectly aligned. The are also options to align every highlighted object on one edge, or to evenly space them.
Hey, Shelly! I seriously can’t even still wait to see the moving in and set Vlogs of your new classroom! Only two more days! And I also started re-doing some bitty of things in my classroom including my teaching cart I got a year ago from IKEA! 😍 ❤️Aaron
This is probably the video I was looking for without realizing it! I’ve been trying to figure out how I was going to label everything (first year teacher). This makes it easy!
I just wanted to say that I love you and love going on this teacher journey with you! This fall I'll be a senior in college and will then do my student teaching afterwards. You make me excited to teach!!
Yesss!!!! I’ve been looking forward to this video! I tried making labels using PowerPoint about a week ago (not printed yet), and you just gave me lots of cool tips on how to make them even better.
Thank you Shelly. I will be a first year teacher this coming fall and I couldn't find any labels that I liked anywhere. This will save me so much money and my labels will be customized to my liking. :)
I love this! Thank you so much for sharing! Have you ever done a calendar for the classroom? If you have, would you mind doing a tutorial showing how to do it? I’ve been looking for a good calendar to hang up on the bulletin board but I just don’t like any😩 Love, Nelly💕
Awesome video. I couldn't find the style I wanted either and with a lot of trial and error, made my own. I kind of wish I waited for this video though...would've saved a lot of time!
Thank you for this video! I have been making so many poster and labels using your directions. I am always finding great resources, but I want add something or match it to my classroom theme. The only problem is my husband complaining about my printing activity. 😉
Shelley, you can also create a blank template in ppt so that you dont have to change the format each time. Mine is literally called "blank letter size template". 😊
You can also add text inside the shape just by typing, instead of separately adding a different text box. This is helpful so you don't have to worry about always properly centering your text just right inside the shape.
Where was this video a week ago before a spent money on tpt for labels? 😫oh well. I will definitely be using this method during the school year. Thanks a bunch!!!!
You can do the same in Word and you don’t need to change any setting! PowerPoint is for slides/presentations (which you almost never print) and Word is for actually printing
Oh my word!! Wish I saw this earlier. I just bought labels off PTP which I enjoy for my toolbox but love a purple/blue theme. You are amazing for doing this!! Sharing on my Facebook so my teacher friends can see this!
Hi! We love your videos and would love to collaborate! We make safe and exciting chemistry experiments which are fun for the whole family. It would be great to get your teachers opinion on them. How do we email you?
I got super anxious that you didn’t cut your labels before you laminated. Is this just a UK teacher thing where we cut, laminate, then cut again? 😂🤦🏼♀️ super video though! I can’t believe I’ve never thought to use powerpoint like this before
@@iyaitssuzanne I think it is because sometimes when you cut the laminated card, the laminated sheets get separated and do not adhere to each other anymore... you have to buy really good quality laminated pouches for it to stay in contact when you cut them... At least, it's my experience. I laminate a lot of games for my class (memory, cards...) and if I don't cut them before then laminate, this happens and it makes me really mad!
So, whenever I laminate (cardstock) and then cut it, the lamination does not stay adhered around the sides that were not part of the original rectangle. Know what I mean? Does that happen to you? Not hot enough? I let it warm on on high for a loooong time (same Scotch laminator). Run it through more than once? Thoughts? Thx!!
Great video! I have a question about the watercolor background that you downloaded. Don’t you have to make sure that it’s okay to use it? Almost every picture that you see in Google is copyrighted and you are not allowed to use it even if it’s only in your classroom. If you go to settings you can click on different search options and you can see if you are allowed to use them. I recommend Pixabay if you want pictures that are okay to use. Best regards, Teacher Mari Ledin

I’m so excited for first day of school and set up
Congrats on your pregnancy! On 5:51 I caught a glimpse of the hospital bag checklist :) a few weeks ago.
Awesome video. I couldn't find the style I wanted either and with a lot of trial and error, made my own. I kind of wish I waited for this video though...would've saved a lot of time!

Great job explaining this👍

Thank you so much for sharing!! ❤️
Thank you! This was amazing
Love this!! Thank you!!!
It was a great help. Thank you for sharing that with us. Could you do a similar video but on how to create calendar?
Another great video!

Thank you! So helpful!
Thank you so much! I have been waiting for this tutorial! ❤ing it!🤗
Thank you for this. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Omg this is so smart! I need to try it
What are the measurements for a standard sterilite drawer set?
Amazing!!!
KG Blank space is my go to font also!
I have been trying to down load it or purchase but have no idea where to do this !!😭
Love using glue dots to adhere the labels to my plastic storage boxes
Thank you!😍
Oh my word!! Wish I saw this earlier. I just bought labels off PTP which I enjoy for my toolbox but love a purple/blue theme.
You are amazing for doing this!! Sharing on my Facebook so my teacher friends can see this!
I always make my own labels also.
Congrats on 60k 🎉
OMG Thank you so much. I would have been so stinking lost LOL!!!
Another thing I would do is click on the button that allpws you to align text to the center. This eliminates the guesswork :)
Do you know if I can follow this same process for the spine of a binder label?
Question !!!- do you use a regular at home printer ?!
Im going to a new school and starting over with decorations 😩😩😩
is there a way to add even more borders around the shape?
Hi! I noticed you used Pen&Gear brand for the laminating sheets -- is it any different from the Scotch brand?? Any ways to save money are great!
Thank you for this, darling!
I am in ppt and there is no way to change margins. Can't even find it in the help menu
What do you use to get your things to stick to your whiteboard?
I'm not even a teacher and I'm going to use this lol
r ur labels on those bins at the 1:46 mark on ur tpt store?
How the do I delete the shape format I’m so slow with these things

iyaitssuzanne that seems counterproductive and a silly use of time to me 😂
Early EDventures it totally is! I have no idea why that’s a thing we do 😂

How do you do your screen recordings? Do you do the audio at the same time?
I screen record with quicktime then do the voiceover after with iMovie
#random I really love your lip color 😍
dafont.com has free fonts and there are so so many of them

Sal Ritz could you run it through once more after you cut it? That might help really seal it!
Cut paper first, laminate the cut parts, cut again. More time, but they last longer.
Great video!

Shouldn't you cut out the labels before you laminate them?
Ilse Keizer then I would have to cut, laminate, and cut again. This way I only cut once...
I expected that the labels wouldn't be sealed properly, but I'll try! It will safe a lot of time indeed!
8th like 🤣🤣💗🤣🤣
