This was one of their early songs. It is a tribute to Iron Maiden, modelled after "Aces High". Lovebites have stated the Maiden were one of their major influences. The crazy thing is that this "tribute" actually surpasses the old masters, especially with Haruna's insane performance on drums. Thanks for finally checking this out!
I love the fact that Lovebites pays tribute to the bands that had influence on them, and it's such a sign of respect. There's so much going on with Haruna's playing, she really is a machine back there! Thanks for watching! 🤘🐺
LOVEBITES - The Crusade lyrics: Walking in shadows, immersed in deception While hiding our agony, faking a smile Pulling the trigger to lose my religion All of the truth ends up murdered by lies Dancing with demons, they seem to be fond of me Let’s start the ritual for the revenge Pulling the trigger to burn non-believers Being the odd one out drives me insane I’m a fool in disguise You’d never realize Found myself in its song Where else would I belong? Break free Fight to live on, forever strong Break free Heart made of steel, show me what’s real Deep down My heartbeat and blood burning with love Deep down It’s time to begin the crusade Wanting an answer, but losing myself While I’m hiding my anger behind empty smiles Pulling the trigger to punish the traitors All of your words were just nothing but lies Crawling in chaos, I’m losing my breath, tell me What do you see through your sinister eyes? Pulling the trigger to kill the oppressors I had no choice but to hide when I cried
Found myself in its song Where else would I belong? Break free Always believe, hope is the key Break free Heart made of steel, knight of ordeal Deep down Destroy the restraints, never again Deep down It’s time to begin the crusade SOLO: midori / miyako Break free Fight to live on, forever strong Break free Heart made of steel, show me what’s real Deep down My heartbeat and blood burning with love Deep down Be true to yourself and your beliefs It’s time to get up and breath ----- lyrics: miho music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Battle Against Damnation EP 06/06/2018
I follow Lovebites on their socials, and was happy to get the anniversary reminder for Battle Against Damnation! It served as a friendly reminder that I needed to check out The Crusade still, and I'm glad I did! 🤘🐺
Another great reaction to another great LOVEBITES song. This reminds me of an Iron Maiden song from Powerslave. In their beginning they performed a secret concert under the name Powerslaves. The funny thing is that they did not perform any Maiden songs that time. LOVEBITES pulled a fast one on their fan base by releasing Eagle Fly Free by Helloween and Painkiller by Judas Priest covers instead of Maiden. Maybe some other time they will cover Maiden. Miyako's upcoming EP contains piano versions of other metal greats. She also revived her RUclips channel recently. There's a lot of great stuff coming from her. LOVEBITES is known for playing their own great original music live. They are playing better live music than some of my favorite classic metal bands these days. Peace and LOVEBITES!!! 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Thanks so much for watching, and for the kind words! I'd love to see an Iron Maiden cover from Lovebites (The Trooper perhaps,) and I'm excited Miyako is active on her RUclips channel again! I'm looking forward to hearing some of the other piano performances on MIyako's EP in particular Metalica, and Yngwie Malmsteen! 🤘🐺
Thanks so much for watching, and for the kind words! I love Midori's aggressive playing style, and you're right she sure does make use of that tremolo! 🤘🐺
One I recently heard. I didn't know what album it was on. I need to start learning that. I'd recommend doing any song you have not done from Judgement Day, starting with "We are the Resurrection"
Yes, two guys from Finland do the mixing and mastering for all LOVEBITES tracks, studio and live. By the way, Nightwish is my other favorite band beside LOVEBITES. Shorecat, if you want to react to any other band this is my suggestion. Their fanbase called Nightwish Army is as enthusiastic as the Wolfpack 🤘🏼
Nice touch for the anniversary. First time I heard this I thought they’d reworded “Aces High”. So I listened to Aces High…not the same at all, just similar. The Japanese still like the physical music format, and so this was from an EP, not an album…🙂 I’m not sure if anyone else in other countries releases EP’s any more?
Thanks so much for the info! Definitely incredible production, and any band would be lucky to have those two mixing and mastering. Nightwish is a band that would definitely be new to me, and I'll have to put that on my list of bands to go on a deep dive soon! 🤘🐺
@@shorecat Just to let you know, a great performance to start with is "A Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken 2013. It sort of sets the scene for their other fantastic clips.
Thank you for your great reaction! 0:49 at your video, Asami calls in Japanese "IKUYO! TOKYO!". And that means "Let's go! Tokyo!" to be accurately. Just a trivial. 🙃
At some point it feels like I should stop being impressed by Lovebites and just appreciate and enjoy them. However, even for performances I have seen a dozen times or more, I am still blown away, even though I know what's coming lol. That was amazing. Amazing. They're always amazing. Agree to on the audio engineer. I think I read somewhere that it was the same person that worked on Nightwish. If so, that would not surprise me. They're another band that sound glorious live and have amazing production on their videos. I think I said amazing too much, but what else is there to say?
It's incredible that all aspects of Lovebites are on the highest level. 🤘🐺 Nightwish is a band I know I will have to go on a discovery journey with as well, because while I've heard of them, I'm not familiar with their music.
@@shorecat Nightwish will be another amazing journey and quite the rabbit hole. That's what got me into watching music reactions, and it is how I found the band (and Lovebites). I got to see them live in 2022 as a result (which was amazing). I then found Lovebites and they became my favorite band of all time, but I love Nightwish as well. Floor's voice is truly something else, and like Lovebites, they sound amazing live. Lovebites though - for me, they trump everything lol.
Great reaction to one of my fav Lovebites songs !

This is not "straight up thrash".
This is straight-up: IRON MAIDEN! 🤘🏼🐺🤘🏼
🤘🐺
This is so Maiden that Maiden's probably kicking themselves for not coming up with it 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤘🤘🤘
Awesome review Shorecat.
Thanks so much! 🤘🐺
