I recommend adding ammo pouches to the quick access wheel. Go into inventory, hover the cursor over the item you want to add (in our case, a bag of ammo), click on one of the numbers (1-9), then exit, hold down C and select the item you want to use. You can do this with all types of consumables, as well as with weapons

Prolly you already know it, but you can assing number (1-9) to give them quick access long pressing "c" on your keyboard, so you dont have to open inventory and unpack some ammo (2:20)
Some advice - if you can afford it, put black plates on your quick wheel for pvp - the vss is better in the long term for you, however the val is also good - for snipers, the only two i highly recommend are the vssk, and the svd-m (slight spoiler, but after the main story, the north quest does give you a free svu) - its hard to tell if you have one,but even a simple artifact setup pre north areas will help you a ton too
If you can level up the pass to 500, you always get a really good gun, is gonna be easier in this event because it is a battle royale (6-5 days until it starts). Good luck. PD: maybe you don't know about this, but you can put a personalized playlist on the radio (the music that plays when in safes zones) just search a tutorial, it is really easy (put files in folder, press button kinda easy). Also, there is no bad guns per say, they are good in different ways, but you should stick to just one gun or armor until you make it "Master tier", because you will probably get master guns or armor's in the event's (be it crates, from the pass, or the crates you buy with credits later on) and resources to upgrade are pretty limited.

I'd love to grind straight for the 30 round mag but I need to get to rank 7 first. It doesn't seem great at taking down outpost commanders though, mostly because of the mag size, if you time it wrong you drop their armor, do little hp damage, and then they put new armor on by the time you're reloaded lol.

La VSS Vintorez es un buen arma, el problema erradica en su cargador de maxima 30 balas, lo que si no tenes buen aim, la vas a pasar muy mal

Por lo que es una buena opcion si queres, como dije su problema erradica en su cargador, pero si te manejas bien es un arma ideal. (Asi que es recomendable, junto a la AK-15 y la AMB-17) y por ultimo la PKP es muy buen arma, pero su peak es en PvE, en PvP es medio medio. Me parece que no lo aclare antes por lo que aca te lo dejo

You need to add a numbered hotkey to it. 1-9 and then you can use the hold C menu.
