- This video will look at several aspects of invoices:
1.) Go to the reports menu under 'Business' and you will find three options for prebuilt menus.
2.) We will introduce stylesheets, how to create a new one, edit the settings, and apply it to an invoice.
--Background Images use 750px x 800px
--Logo use 100 px height
3.) What to use in the stylesheet: Background, Banner, Logo
4.) Finally we will look at saving report configurations so you do not have to keep changing the default settings on your invoices.

Great software for small businesses/self-employed Linux users, apart from stock retailers and manufacturers. If you are selling services or a few items repeatedly GnuCash it is good enough.
Folk's don't get wrapped up in pretty bills/invoices as they have no impact on most experienced accounts payable people (once you have seen one, you have seen them all). Your bill/invoice will not get paid any faster.
Tom @Switced to Linux has done a good job designing this invoice as an example. I tend to cut back on the colour detail just in case the tree haters want to print everything, which is a waste of ink and will increase overheads. A small logo at the top will suffice, but I always use text.
Ps: Quickbooks Online (QBO) allows you to attach a pdf copy of your bill/invoice to your supplier, customer or client account, which is stored for you in the cloud. Job done, on more filing cabinets. If you want to keep a copy then just save it on your computer in a folder or external harddrive electronically.

can you put in custom fields in the invoice ? it did not look like you could. i will need to look at your previous video because if i have to create the invoice in one area then go to reports to print my custom invoice that would be a pain.

@@SwitchedtoLinux in quickbooks i use custom made fields in my invoices that correspond to my service forms that i have my clients sign when i do a job for them.

Hi sir can you please help us, our problem is whenever i add an income (not only income but also other sales acount) transaction , it will
automatically duplicate this particular transaction but the amount is now tranferred to "Charge" resulting to zero balance.
whenever trying to add images, the invoice wont add it. Instead of the image it gives out a very tiny rect at that place probably showing that something is wrong while importing it.
How do GNUCash's invoices compare with QuickBook's invoices?
I like Gnucash better in that I can search for invoices, though Quickbooks does have a list of invoices per customer I have not yet found that in GnuCash, but it may be in there somewhere. Quickbooks has product lists which are nice, but GnuCash autofills...I would say they are pretty similar, each having positives and negatives.

Is there a way to send a payed receipt?
The invoice is the receipt.
Design a separate receipt template yourself and send it over manually if someone pays by credit card over the phone for example. Job done!
