I have a 2005 Camry 4 cylinder that I bought used. With well over 200,000 miles, it's a solid car inside & out. Almost 19 years old, daily driven . Incredible build quality. Early 2000 Toyotas were in a special league. Toronto Canada
I have a 2001 Camry original engine and automatic transmission. Got 368,000 miles on it and it’s running just like new. Ac and radio still works. Cloth interior is still immaculate
Hey Scotty, I also own a 94 Celica. My Celica has over 344,000 miles on it and i drive it daily. BEST car i have ever owned. I took your advice and bought one in 2019.
I had a Camry before I bought my 2004 Toyota Tacoma brand new, it now has 121,000 miles, which included travelling across the country several times. It's starting to look its age on the outside, looks almost brand new on the inside, but it still runs like a dream and has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever had. I keep up with engine maintenance religiously and it has paid off! When asked if I'm going to get a new vehicle, I say absolutely not! I don't have a car payment (paid off Oct 2008) and the insurance is cheap! And I laugh all the way to the bank!! I love my Toyota truck!
I love mine too. I gotta 03 I bought in Feb 05. Got 126,000 on it now. Not my daily driver tho. Gotta new frame back in 15 which I keep rust proofed. People always laugh n say when u gonna getta real truck? I just say mine will still b running long after ur "real truck" dies! Plus it's been paid off for 13 years now👍😁

Bought my son a 2004 to replace the '02 LS430 that got wrecked. That car is a tank. It is slower than mud compared to my SC400, but gets great mileage.
My 2004 Camry is a tank. 121k miles and I’d say I’ve put about $5k in updated parts from the dealer. I plan on continuing service at the dealer and keeping it forever.
@@cormaro13 it’s always been serviced at the dealership with Toyota parts. I think it’s worth it. I know I could get it done cheaper, but the stuff I got some hadn’t even broken yet, it was just water pump, radiator, and other things (all added up quickly).

I racked up over 200,000 miles on the other three and never had a significant breakdown on any of them. The usual maintenance items, brakes, batteries, scheduled maintenance, etc, and that's it. Toyotas are bulletproof if you maintain them well, don't abuse them, and take good care of them so they will last. I bought all of them from a Toyota dealer and they were all certified pre-owned vehicles with a warranty. Get the extended warranty because it's worth it. I had a few problems that were repaired at no cost to me because of the warranties. The price of the extended warranty is negotiable. I was able to negotiate a much lower price than what was first thrown out to me. Same thing for the financing interest rate for your loan. Always negotiate and don't let them roll you. I am a Toyota driver for life.
Of course u can negotiate on the interest rate and everything else who said u couldn't ? Lol The actually thing u wanna do is go to a credit union first and compare interest rates , gap and extend warranty, credit union actually offer free gap at time and the extend warranty is a little cheaper than dealership , but gives u ammo before going into the stealship
I'm driving the car that will last forever, lol! And it's an '04 to, made by Honda though. An Accord with the K24A4 4cyl. engine with a 5sp manual transmission and it has 270k miles on it and it still runs and drives perfectly. It's comfortable, quiet, and reliable and I love it.
Love my 05 Camry beater.. currently 148,000 it's taken me on many adventures reliably. Best 2300$ ever spent, previous owner was a woman & didn't take care of it very well, the paint and condition is ugly but that's the beauty of a beater.. I don't stress about it. It keeps pushing and I am thankful 🙏 Looking forward to many more adventures.
The XV30 (this gen Camry) has so much untapped potential. The engine is extremely tunable up to 300 HP on stock internals. There are kits out there that really make this car stand out, also. You can get some nice VIP/bippu looking results with it. I myself turned mine into a rally car of sorts and have straight piped from the catback and that 2AZ-FE really purrs!
@@tmerema Well because when you own the car, you can do what you want with it. And it sounds like this guy here is a car enthusiast, it's part of the way he wants to express his love for cars with what he has available to him.
@@richsweeney1115 Perhaps, but you never know what the people at HQ are thinking, because they know at least someone out there is going to do it. And as long as you have the knowledge behind ya, I think it can still be a very solid vehicle and will not die if maintained.
This should have been about the VW Beetle. VW has licensed an electric chassis for the Vintage Bug. Most Loved car on the planet. One day they will be modified to drive themselves, Herbie. It will be around forever like it or not.
Hey Scotty! You mentioned "Little Trees", so you might like this? You’ve heard how some ppl talk to their plants. One day this guy was out in the forest and started talking to a tree. After a while the tree got bored and said, “Go away. Please leaf me alone.”
I own a 2004 Toyota Camry, bought new & it still runs & looks great, but Scotty, will you please stop singing the praises of this car? After 20 years of ownership & all the U-Tube videos about its reliability, I am starting to get worried that someone will steal it out of my driveway! I'm 78 & intend on keeping it, until I die or stop driving!
U must not drive much? got a 16 focus with 293k miles .It's a 5 speed manual transmission . Only normal things one oxygen sensor 5 sets of tires 2 sets of brakes oil change every 5k miles.
2005 camry, still running, 150k miles.. Little things here and there, soft steering. slight rust, finally, by one rocker panel.. Didn't think I'd ever see you rust at this point....hard to get rid of.

I was going to purchase a new 2015 Camry XLE Fully Loaded top model In 2015. I had it on the highway for test ride . What a car. 140km/r I stepped on it and within 2-3 seconds was at 220 before I quickly slowed down again . This thing was like a race car. Unbelievable power and comfort . Luxury Car of Toyota . What do you think of the 2015 and newer Camrys ?? I know the Camry has a bullet proof reputation. Lasts forever . Very reliable . Minimal problems . What about the newer 2020 and newer ??
@@Winterstick549 and it's still crap 🤣 why do u ask , cause so many owners with the cvt have had more problems than with toyota traditional transmission
I'm genuinely convinced Scotty either never had or experienced a lot of Cars (There are many that last forever and most of them aren't even Japanese) or he had a lot of very negative Experiences with certain Brands that made him have a Personal Hatred for those Brands (See that especially with a lot of Americans online for some Reason). That said, i 100% agree with this Car in the Video being one of those that last forever
Im still kicking around in my 98 Toyota Avalon with only 156000 because i put most of those on it since i bought it with less than 40000 on it in 2017 from the ssme lady i used to service it for as a tech at the dealership she bought it new from and never drove it. I used to have to service it by the date because she'd never put any miles on it. I jokingly used to tell her to let me know if she sells it one day and she did in 2017 with 34000 original miles. The plastic things are breaking but it'll make it another 100000 i hope.
Longevity is the only criteria for what you call a good vehicle. Most people don't buy a new car to drive it for the rest of its life. With that being said, you've discouraged people from buying American vehicles when they're usually great for the 3-5 years you own it. If you trade in and keep a newer vehicle Chevys drive better with a superior experience
My 2015 lifted Scion xB has a classic 4 speed AT. Still shifts like a dream. After I change my ATF made by Toyota, around 66k miles. It’s shifts beautiful.
Have a 2002 Camry xle v6 since new with leather and sound deadening package. 186K miles. Changed out trans fluid 4 quarts every 40K with 5/16 siphon tube. Never removed the trans plug or pan. Fluid is bright red. Never let engine oil go past 5K miles. Removed plastic body plugs and sprayed fluid film and engine oil in box cavities front and rear 15 years ago. Northern car. One timing belt at 100K. getting ready for the second. Changed front struts, rear sway bushings and alt in past three years. Gets 32 MPG Hwy. City a little disappointing at 18-20 MPG. Car runs and looks new. I believe this car will last forever at this pace. Had to brag.
Wait a min , you only change out the Trans fluid but not the filter ???? Do u think the filter is a lifetime filter now ?? It doesn't matter if it's bright red or not the old gunk and new fluid is still getting mixed dude and you shouldn't be proud of not touching those 🤦 cause u need to
My sister had any Toyota Corolla must have been made with a bad batch of Steel, because it had these huge rust spots all over it which I've never seen on any other car, as far as reliability it was one of the best car she ever had, and never broke down, like it was too ugly to die
What I liked about Toyotas if you're friends with the parts people they can tell you what to replace. Just tell him what it's doing. Toyota's are good cars.
When I got my 2000 Camry CE a few weeks ago. I was surprised to see a Pioneer touchscreen in it. That must be the norm for owners who have older Camry's. 😂😂😂😂.

Lol
The actually thing u wanna do is go to a credit union first and compare interest rates , gap and extend warranty, credit union actually offer free gap at time and the extend warranty is a little cheaper than dealership , but gives u ammo before going into the stealship
My 04 Corolla has 310,000 and I love it!
2002 Camry 215k Japan built cheap parts easy to fix amazing car not the best looking vehicle on the road but it’s reliable
I don't think that's the original engine. There was some telltale salvage yard marker on the valve cover.
"Only car that lasts forever" . That doesn't look like a Mercedes 300D W123 to me!!!
Going to look at a 05 Camry tomorrow for $4,700 if it’s in good shape probably gonna buy it.
Yeah, but why?
Theyrenot made for it.....yours will never last all long as a normal one will
@@tmerema Well because when you own the car, you can do what you want with it.
Shake & bake Nascar edition
Scott said prius was not good ...I rode mine to 230k miles and it was still driving ...never died even once for yrs
This should have been about the VW Beetle. VW has licensed an electric chassis for the Vintage Bug. Most Loved car on the planet. One day they will be modified to drive themselves, Herbie. It will be around forever like it or not.
Oh good most of those old vws leaked oil
Hey Scotty! You mentioned "Little Trees", so you might like this?
You’ve heard how some ppl talk to their plants. One day this guy was out in the forest and started talking to a tree.
After a while the tree got bored and said, “Go away. Please leaf me alone.”
I have a 2000 Chevrolet cavalier with 193,475 miles on it. After owning it used in 2014, I can feel it can go 50,000 more!
I own a 2004 Toyota Camry, bought new & it still runs & looks great, but Scotty, will you please stop
singing the praises of this car? After 20 years of ownership & all the U-Tube videos about its reliability,
I am starting to get worried that someone will steal it out of my driveway! I'm 78 & intend on keeping it,
until I die or stop driving!
My 2002 Focus ZX5 still gets 25-27 city/hwy combined, low 30's on freeway. 143k miles, 5-speed manual.
I wish you were here in California, I need a mechanic that knows his stuff, and honest
So you didn't know mechanics are more honest than politicians, BANKERS, CEOs, cops, doctors, judges, lawyers, preachers, generals, king, queens, media, salespeople, etc..?? 😊😊
Interesting video as always sir.👍🤟
You gotta love Scotties stories.. Just cruising along on a nice quad ride and oops.. a fence; no more head. lol.. sure
Thank you. I did not hear that. I only heard him talk about a Camry. Thanks for letting me know.😊
Nice a actual honest guy on car repair
I was going to purchase a new 2015 Camry XLE Fully Loaded top model In 2015. I had it on the highway for test ride . What a car. 140km/r I stepped on it and within 2-3 seconds was at 220 before I quickly slowed down again . This thing was like a race car. Unbelievable power and comfort . Luxury Car of Toyota . What do you think of the 2015 and newer Camrys ?? I know the Camry has a bullet proof reputation. Lasts forever . Very reliable . Minimal problems . What about the newer 2020 and newer ??
If It has the cvt it's trash especially on the new ones lol and it's v6 calm down big boy lol
Toyota makes the only CVT I would buy as it comes with a launch gear.
@@Winterstick549 and it's still crap 🤣 why do u ask , cause so many owners with the cvt have had more problems than with toyota traditional transmission
@@cormaro13
It's not crap, but I'd rather have a stick, or the pre-CVT automatic.
Hi Scotty!
Scotty to be the Big Guy.....
Brake pedal going to far is because the rear drums aren't self adjusting properly.
Can't beat an old Camery for reliability
Took delivery one week ago on our new XSE Hybrid. This is our 4th Camry. We've only replaced the others because after 10-12 years we want a new one.
Thanks Scott y
My car is only 140k miles but still it will run forevee to my job and backwards
Im still kicking around in my 98 Toyota Avalon with only 156000 because i put most of those on it since i bought it with less than 40000 on it in 2017 from the ssme lady i used to service it for as a tech at the dealership she bought it new from and never drove it. I used to have to service it by the date because she'd never put any miles on it. I jokingly used to tell her to let me know if she sells it one day and she did in 2017 with 34000 original miles. The plastic things are breaking but it'll make it another 100000 i hope.
Well Scotty said the car with manual transmission will last for long. So go for it.
428,000 on my Toyota Senna. ! . Still going strong. 🎉
My 2015 lifted Scion xB has a classic 4 speed AT. Still shifts like a dream. After I change my ATF made by Toyota, around 66k miles. It’s shifts beautiful.
oxygen sensor so easy to fix, then do a full tune up after.
BABY TREES!!!!!!!
My 2004 burns oil at a rate of a quart every two weeks. It is the common engine defect with the rings being it was assembled in the U.S. SMH
My Celica Gts manual I bought in 2002 still runs great with 403k miles. It should last another 12 years when I retire.😂
Could you do a video comparing Camrys to Corollas? Thanky
Nothing is better than an internal combustion Engine Toyota👍
Nothing is better than a 94 Celica.
My ‘95 Camry is still going strong.
Scotty I’m going to go look a 2002 Toyota Camry with 118,000 miles in good shape this weekend I thinking about buying one :)
I owned one, l'il fella. I'm 6'4 and couldn't get in without smacking my head.
Had a 1987 Toyota Corolla hatch back had it with 2300 at the end 350,000
This guy is the best
When I got my 2000 Camry CE a few weeks ago. I was surprised to see a Pioneer touchscreen in it. That must be the norm for owners who have older Camry's. 😂😂😂😂.
Nah, I still use my tape deck haha.
It even has little trees!
Old Toyota was a gem..Recent days Toyota uses Suzuki engine.. Shame on Toyota
Hey scotty from England 🇬🇧
Cheers Mate!!
I HAVE A 1999 MAZDA STILL GOOD BUT DO CHANGE TIMING BELT@5YRS
2004 toyota sequoia would like to argue that toyota knew how to rust proof.
Thnx I see why my Camry engine light comes on when I go through a puddle I can assume the connecters to oxygen sensor is not water proof
Scotty my transmission does not work i change transmission speed sensor help help please
