One of those Foo's songs that when you get passed Learn To Fly, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Big Me etc you find beauty and really underrated material. Songs like Next Year, The One, Resolve and This Is A Call are the best work of art but yet don't reach the surface as Rope, Breakout etc do. I love all of Foo's music, but when I get past their more "popular" music I find these epic tunes, I feel like I'm hiding all the good candy from my brothers and sisters metaphorically speaking. It's great!

A friend of mine shared this song with me before she left. I miss her everyday, no matter how busy I get I still get the heartaches. Even when I have the strongest cases of passion or hyper fixations, at the end of the day I still wonder hows she's doing. Did she make it through quarantine safely? How did her trip go? I don't ever suspect I will ever be able to talk to her again, so the only thing I can do is spread the joy that she shared with me. I'm from over the "pond"... i always liked (UK) Indie music.... and then, these guys came along.... I was sent this song from a friend inthe USA who liked it (sensitive soul...)... I loved it the first time I heard it.... these guys took a a chance, coming over here (I mean.. who had ever heard of Foo Fighters before..??), ... BUT... they made their mark on us... the UK loves the Foos!!!
Dave must have written this on a plane in December. Also, there's a subtle Pink Floyd reference in the visuals. And overall, this is a great song and an awesome video. As a child if the '60s/'70s, having watched the early space journeys when I was five, and still enamored with flight in general....this whole thing speaks to me, to my very core. Thanks, Foos. Someone was on their top game when they put this video together. All the references to the 60s & 70s...subtle visual mentions to Viet Nam, Nixon, various moon landings, using duct tape to put parts of amps/speakers together (re: Apollo 13).... Never a fan of this band, with the single exception of this song, which is absolutely brilliant. That they chose to honour humanity's single most impressive achievement in the vid is to their eternal credit. Even if they wrote themselves into the story, there's enough unadulterated Apollo footage to bring a tear to anyone's eye.
