@@theoneafternineonine I've owned german V62 vioin bass, but the sound of this bass has been captivating me for a long time. Yes, I know it's in your hands, but I play with similar technique. I'm gonna have to get me one.
@@TheBassfresh It does have an amazing sound for fingerstyle, I love it. I do have a feeling that these höfner bases are more made for playing with a pick because there's not really a very comfortable resting position for your thumb, but the sound is worth it to me
Holy!!! I just found this after your cover of eminence front by the who. That was the first video I saw of you and damn you've progressed just I as I hoped you would!!! Brilliant!!!!
Hey man, been looking at getting one of these instruments. This is the nicest demo I've seen, great playing and you have a really nice sound. Appreciated.
Hey, appreciate the comment. RUclips isn't my main thing at all. I'm just lucky enough my mate's able to make these amazing videos for me so I can put some of my favourite songs to cover on here.
@@theoneafternineonine It kind of enhances the whole tone that is already there in that particular instrument of yours. Try it :)

that was good... I came here for the verythin, not for the song (first time I hear it). I do not know if the original sounds like this, the bassist. It is a very free and melodical way of playing bass. You got talent, really.
They're actually just Höfner roundwounds, put the bass can be set up in such a way that it gets a really warm, less trebly sound. Though I think that is also generally characteristic of Höfner basses.
Sounds very cool. I have a club and violin Hofner basses that also have this same deep sound. I am thinking of getting a very thin bass to add to my collection. Your cover helped swing me towards getting this same type of Hofner bass.
Hey thanks man. Yeah it's a Höfner HCT-500/7-SB. The neck is one of the reasons I bought it too. On this song I'm just playing through a digital amp but I have an Ashdown MAG 300 EVO. Gets me a great sound
Oh no, I'm very happy with it so I don't think it'll ever go. They're not tooooo pricey though since it's the contemporary series so you could look into what they go for
I love the Verythin just for the sound. It's maybe not as comfy for my fingerstyle of playing but that's something you easily get used to. I'm mainly about the sound, and the Verythin for me just has that perfect mix of a vintage but still contemporary sound. I never played a Guild but honestly from what I see of it it doesn't look like a bad bass either (and it's cheaper). The choice to get a Höfner for me was also influenced by my love for the Beatles. Bit of a long story but hope it's of use to you.
You're a fantastic bass player and your cheap bass sounds soooo much better than 5k euros basses. It's lovely, I really love that fat sound. I love Hofner and Gibson basses.
Appreciate the comment. The contemporary series is really good for sure. But even so, Höfner just know how to make instruments so even their budget lines are good.
Just Brilliant playing, feel, tone, can't fault
Um som vintage muito bom!
Love the bass, love the playing, have always loved this song - I think you nailed it. Inspiring- thanks!
Outstanding cover of Lee's bass playing. Please do more Sklar covers!
Outstanding !
That bass is in amazing condition
Yeah, I can really recommend the contemporary series. They're amazing looking and sounding instruments

sounds great - i just bought another Verythin for 3rd time - tone on this video is superb dude
Very nice
well done!
Well played! Love the tone of that bass! Gonna have to get my one and put flats on it :)
Hey thanks man. I didn't even have flats on mine but I really want to try, I think it will really work amazingly on a Höfner

Perfect low bass sound. Are those flat wounds? Fantastic.

Joyfull! What strings are you using?
Is your bass a Hofner?
What amp or pedal are you using.
YOU SOUND AMAZING!
I love the neck on that bass👍🏽

Very nice playing, would you like to sell this hofner?

How do you like the Verythin? Is it better than a Guild Starfire?
