Jersey has many issues typical of an island: - High prices in stores due to low competition and high barriers of entry for new players, - Expensive land, which makes for expensive housing; - Small pieces of land, which make it expensive to buy a detached home; - The island services are concentrated on one place, St. Helier. Moreover, it is suffering with Brexit - because its major trading partner, the UK, is struggling with inflation, product scarcity, lack of labor, etc... Additionally, the qualification scheme makes it quite expensive to rent, which brings down the newcomers. Furthermore, the health services are quite... Not up to the standards people living in a first World country are used to. This comes from the fact that it is challenging to motivate both young and experienced Doctors to come to Jersey - and the Government is not doing enough. The "Current Year Tax Reform" was quite bad - and I lost some of the trust I had in stability from the Government. Yes, the weather is nice, and there are plenty of beaches and monuments to visit. But, I think you can do it in a week - 4 days, I would say.
@@hariharankrishnan3398 yes, I agree. But the fact that in the UK healthcare is not adequate, does not make up for the issues in healthcare in Jersey. In fact, many of the issues I found in Jersey are shared among the two systems, as the Jersey one was largely based on the UK one. Because Jersey has nicer weather, people are nicer and warmer, more diversity in culture and activities, and good food. What arguments do you have for Germany? I can only think about the variety of bread.

Lived there for 6 months during my internship in 2009. Great Island, great people, good memories!
I want to retire there. Our family has a property there but we can't afford to live in it ! I love the island and have done for over 6 decades.
Those winter months spoil the appeal for me. Living in year round sunshine from Palm Springs CA.

Seems alluring.
How about if someone took a break from corporate life for a while.
