This really shows how brave Lancer is in this scene. He's still a kid, but he still finds the strength to stand up in the way against Susie and his dad's wills (Susie wanting him to let her pass and the King wanting the Lightners to die) for what he believes to be right. And that's really cool.
He was so dedicated to not letting the two people most important to him get hurt he ends up surviving a ridiculous amount of damage.
(Just to give you an idea lancers health in this fight is like 5th highest just behind jevil, spamton NEO, king and giga Queen)
In undertale monsters strength is based heavily on emotions.
I have a feeling darkners are similar.
Either that or, since he's the King's son, he's extremely powerful, and up to this point, we were actually depleting his bike's HP, just like Queen with her chair. Actually both explanations might be true.

I noticed a bunch of details:
The song starts with Susie trying to scare Lancer away, by singing with her terrifying voice.
When Lancer takes the challenge, by singing back, she starts to regret what's going to happen, and she smiles to Lancer, laughing at him.
After the first hit of Susie, Lancer starts to sing long notes, as if it hurts.
Susie snaps at him after he started to sing with her and interrupting her.
There's some moments when Lancer tries to take main lead in singing when Susie sings, but then she hits him, to stop interrupting. After this, she snaps second time.
At the end, she noticed what she did to Lancer, and calmed herself down.

I like this song the most out of all of your songs, it's such a bop to listen to. Also Lancer with a Child-like voice than the voice people in dubs give him is still great overall.

Lancer's childish voice and Susie's dramatic change in vocals after she loses her nerve is just chef's kiss
What an awesome mod! My only suggestion is that at the end of the song reduce the player’s hp to 1 and let susie do the “slash” animation,but only for her to miss lancer,that would make the ending dialogue make much more sense
Or do the slash animation, then have it miss. With lancer looking confused.
I thought that was implied with how her last slash brings him to 1 hp but I get how adding in a final slash that misses would really drive it home
I just realized, "In My Way" is the file name for the slowed down version of Anticipation that plays a few times in the Geno route.
Extremely fitting name here for all the wrong reasons-

dude can i just say i always love vocals that seem like out of place and dont sound like singing cuz they make really unique sounding vocals and the fact that you mixed that idea into the song as a way to give the song more emotion and character is amazing. ur work is actually one of the most creative and inspiring things to play. keep going bro!

Also love how Susie gets more and more pissed off over the course of the song!
Shows how brave and strong Lancer is, he even kept up his composure after repeatedly getting hit by _a magic aXe_ . I'm pretty sure anyone else would have _died._ its sad seeing how uncomfortable he is throughout the song and how he clamps his teeth together (or whatever it's called) whenever he gets hit by susie _WITH A _*_MAGIC_*_ AXE.-_

Jeez, ever since the first showcase of this mod I've really liked it! From beginning to end this new update has been great, you along with your team has done some really amazing work. You all have some really great talent. This has become one of my favorite mods for sure. I can't wait to see how this will continue to grow in the future! can we talk about how in the game lancer takes a serious amount of damage, and shows little sign of slowing down (he only stood like that in the start cause he didn’t want to fight susie)
I can hear the emotions on susie's face change, this song is crazy.
After the first pause, her vocals seem more confident
of course after she says "stop singing!" she sounds aggravated.
This is an amazing song, however it's not my favorite in the Seek's cool Deltarune mod soundtrack, yet it shows a lot more emotion than other songs.
Honestly Jasper's voice fits Susie perfectly. Love the song too!

Susie's expressions are spot on, the voice(s) are perfect.
Jasper from Steven universe was a genius play for the 2nd voice on Susie.
Lancers voice was odd at first but I kind of like it now.
The way the song switched from person to person after the drop really greatly represents someone yelling while you try to get a word in.
I was re-playing chapter one and just got to this scene again. The timing bro, was perfect.

I noticed that there are hints of Chips Ahoyeth in some of Lancer's parts, a nice nod to Rouxls being Lancer's _lesser dad_
Should add a mechanic where lancer has to hit notes to try and hit susie with spades and what not. Like a spade arrow so he has a fighting chance but then ultimately when you hit them he purposefully misses.

I love this song a lot, easily one of my favorites. So I'm sorry to complain a little, I'm happy that you released midi files for the songs, but the part where Susie yelling seems to be absent in the midi. I've tried to find if someone made a version with that part included, or trying to recreate it myself, but to no real avail. I hate to be complaining here, as I am really grateful and happy with all of this, it's just, I don't really have anywhere else to turn to for this issue (as my recreating skills with midi's are less than optimal to say the least). Sorry to bother you, really big fan of your work, and have a good day.

I know that sounds strange, I just want you to know that you make great stuff, the little details in everything, and just the effort you put in does wonders for the product. I like the changes when she is smiling and gets upset. It changed inbetween the both during singing then stuck to upset
