I agree. The new all-Safran combo (Z535 + Z110i) interior makes MH look like American Airlines now. I mean...I get it that most of us have smartphones, but nothing can replace the grandeur of a personal TV, at least for me.
My suggestions on this: 1. I think they need to reconsider to refitted back the cabin like the a330neo , they deploying this aircraft to India and Perth isn't it? (Since the flight took 5-6 hours) 2. But for the business, it's really not suitable for using the Collins elevation on 737 , but I think the Thomson vantage might well suitable for that aircraft
@@arifarsyad2641 : For me, I'd pick a combo of Recaro CL3710, HAECO Vector, or Collins Meridian for Economy, and Thompson Aero Vantage/Safran SkyLounge for Business.
Great video, Jayden! It’s too bad that the new business seats are a step down from the old ones. I’m surprised they would take out the video monitors. That definitely lessens the quality of the product. Glad the food was good outside of the dry chicken. I thought the card in your hotel room was a nice touch. Very classy!
I noticed the display of the main dish is also not presented well...SQ will not allow a dish prepared with side marks ..it has to be cleaned out like in a restaurant before servicing...no excuse ..a flight attendant that serves in that condition will be written up...that is how strict SQ service is...
I agree with your comments Jayden. The new MH regional business class is a downgrade from the old product. The lack of a personal TV is a real issue for me in business. And the seat is less comfortable.
Looking good Jayden, I love your hair in this video. Incredible feedback on this video, I awoke Saturday morning to see 50+ comments. Congratulations! They had some very prominant coat hooks on those seats! This trip really tested your patience with the boarding process and then immigration after landing. But you always stay calm with no drama. So nice.
Spot on, budget quality hardware but charged premium price esp for the biz class. Hence Batik air would be better choice for Perth route. Some even make d effort to transit at Sin for the sake of flying SQ to Perth 😅
Nice vlog, you popped up on my timeline and I watched this and the other Taipei - Kuala Lumpur flight. As a Platinum Enrich / One World Emerald member myself, I fly Malaysia Airlines very frequently and relate to your findings. Slowly the airline is getting back on its feet and it is getting better again. Still a lot of delays and disruptions though, due to personnel shortages and necessary cost savings. KLIA airport is still sub par, but also slowly recovering. In addition to your vlog, do know that Platinum Enrich / One World Emerald and First class passengers can take the premier BMW I-7 limousine service from the main terminal to the Satellite terminal, entering at gate G1, where you'll be greeted by the ground staff and taken to your personal limousine. Quite nice.
Hi! Thanks for watching & leaving a comment :) I knew about the BMW but totally forgot about it when I was there. Flew HKG-KUL-MEL two weeks ago in economy but got to enjoy the ride as I recently reached Qantas platinum (emerald). It was awesome and such a nice perk! Took me a while to look for G1 though haha. Kept walking past it
@@JaydenWongYeah, if you do not know G1, it is easy to walk past it, same here. If you check in at the check in Business Suite counter at Malaysia Airlines on KLIA, you will be offered the service to bring you there personally. That way you won’t miss the gate. 😊
I would agree that the new MH's B737 regional business class is not the best out there, and I personally prefer the good old seats with the personal IFE. In addition, while the recline looks pretty good, the missing footrest makes it quite uncomfortable (especially for a longer flight). The lounge itself imo offers quite a good variety of food selection and that noodles looks amazing. The chicken does look dry but the curry looks good and could understand ur personal preference on skipping the mango mousse, I would eat it though since I love mango😄. Terminal 3 on CGK is massive indeed, especially since you landed on the old side of the terminal (between gate 1-4/5), therefore it's a long walk to the immigration. For sure they could have open more counters on the immigration to shorten the line, quite lucky that I can use the autogate (since for now I think is for Indonesians only), so immigration is very quick. Overall, great video Jayden
the old seat was great! Had it on the way back (sadly only a handful left) had slept well haha. I personally prefer footrest over leg rest so I didn’t use that function on this flight at all.
I was told those entering on visa-on-arrival (those who paid at the counters earlier) and ASEAN can use auto gates too but with HK passport it’s visa-free! Felt like a punishment 😂😂😂
I'll make it easier for the crew and bring home with me next time 🤣 but no seriously, I placed it nicely within the plate so it won't ruin the cabin crew's nails. Clean stuff out, dirty stuff together.
If you are travelling on business class with Malaysia Airlines, instead of taking the bus MH have provided BMW i7's to transfer between Main and Satellite Terminals
Good practice to knock on the hotel room door before entering! Last year we were really shocked to open the door and see a guy standing there by the bed going through his suitcase. Yikes! It could have been so much worse. The front desk had given us the wrong room keys 😵😵💫
I'm not a frequent flyer, however i love my National Carrier, but not happy with decision to remove comfy seat, and IFE. The color selection of the seat looks, classless. Let see where they are going, if i have the dollar, MH will always be my preferred flight both Domestic-Intl. Nice coat hook you got there.
Meanwhile ASEAN airlines are deploying wide body & upgrading interior fitting for regional routes, MH has decided to cut cost at the expense of customers that willing to pay premium for the flying experience esp 737 is consider their workhorse fleet.
It looks like the same as your American Airlines narrow body videos. If you have to choose a B737-800 SQ vs MH which one would actually win out? I wonder if the Malaysia Airlines lounges in Kuala Lumpur do give Hong Kong the pier business class Lounge which you went to with your mum and my father using it frequently a run of it's quality? One thing is missing personal television what they should have done is actually put the screens otherwise Malaysia Airlines would end up like a Philippine Airlines A321-231WL that is configured with Mabuhay and Fiesta class no IFE Screen
All is good, he started a new job and Jayden gave an update about this a few weeks ago on one of his videos. And he was mentioned on the previous video as well.
Looks more like European Business class on most carriers. Skimping out. I used to work for them for a few months in the mid 1990s, based in Darwin, nice carrier and way before their woes.
European business class is a joke, British airways for example it’s like normal economy class except they block the middle seat to make it look “special”
Heyyy Jayden!! I just got off my flight back from Cabo and I am happy to report that the Business Class meal was really good on American Airlines. Haha so my chicken rice was better than yours on Malaysia Airlines! Seems like AA is improving ❤️✈️
Good to know! I will upload my trip report onboard AA JFK-Charlotte-Tulum soon. No hot meal on the first leg but lunch on Charlotte to Tulum was delish!
Another informative trip report. Travelled the new J from COK-KUL the other month and it felt like they regressed back 10years with those seats it was disappointing only made good by the crew who were excellent. Great charging ports but my tablet is now one opposite side so cables going everywhere. Those micro toilets are also horrid not truly designed for great passenger experience.
Yes thankfully MH crew are usually super nice and warm. Flew HKG-KUL-MEL two weeks ago. Was supposed to be 737 MAX and A330neo. Got 737-800 and A330-300🙄 Got Qatar’ed!!
It’s both, MH 737s do both domestic and international. In the past they may hage but now now they don’t have a domestic configuration or international.
finally someone said it 🙏🙏, these seats are just a downgrade from the previous ones disguised as "modernisation" if u ask me, it looks more like a nicely presented ryanair seat
It's sad that many full-service airlines now always use interiors like this on their narrow-body aircraft, including those currently used by Malaysia Airlines. 😅
I don’t understand the logic of the move to this kind of seat, from a passengers point of view. I mean, from a business sense, yes. More lightweight etc. But in terms of the company’s imagine, this seat looks anything but premium.
Not just that, I’ve actually had a person in my room before and thankfully I did knock so that person wasn’t screaming haha. Another commenter here had similar experiences
My experience with Malaysia Airlines was utterly dreadful. The staff were unwelcoming, the food was subpar, and the seating was uncomfortable-just to name a few issues. Transiting through Kuala Lumpur Airport was an entirely separate ordeal, akin to a nightmare. Never again 😮💨
Well, it is business…. Bangkok Airways serves a full meal on flights from BKK to HKT & back. I’ve got to admit, they are a little smaller than what you would get in long haul Thai airways, but even SQ serves a hot meal in economy from SIN-BKK & return, being a 2hr flight!

Lousy business class. Just like most low-cost airlines, it doesn't have a TV screen. Can you believe that? Most airlines, even non-low-cost ones, have TV screens in economy class. Ridiculous.

I too feel that ditching the IFE screens is a poor move by MH, especially in the Business Class. It makes MH look like an overpriced budget carrier….😫
It's like being on a budget airline absolutely horrid especially when flying 5.5 hours from Perth to Kuala Lumpur not at all comfortable
agreed flying this to Perth isn't pleasant in any cabin
