- Powder-coated steel Amerimax gutter guards snap in place on 5 inch gutters to keep large debris from clogging your gutter system. Installation is easy, requiring only a ladder and tin snips to trim guards to fit your home.
If you have helicopter seeded tree, it will clog these up in a year with no way to pull them out. They get stuck in there.
You better have a nail puller if you expect to slide those plastic snap-ins under the nailed-down shingles... Be prepared to replace several dozen shingles or more during the installation.
Don't waste your money, or time with the Huxley or Amerimax plastic gutter snap-in screens... They do not work ... After a few hours if you manage to get one or two installed, the plastic will crack and fall apart from the sun rays in just a few years ... (Oakland Home Inspections LLC) Metal gutter guards are the only ones that work and actually fit, and do not crack or fall apart ...
Lol wont show how to do a corner though
He said to miter it for a corner. If its a 90 degree corner, cut both ends at 45
mmmmkay
Thank you very much - easy, short, precise instructions!!!
I have conflicting information on these. One place says to slide the back (straight) under the shingle and the front to lock into the front lip of the gutter. This video says to just place the back inside the gutter, not under the shingle. Which is it?
Pretty sure this type goes in as he shows. They have other styles that goe under the shingle.
I concur...the installation instructions on the Amerimax website shows sliding under the shingles...I can't figure out how they 'lock'. Which way is it, Amerimax???
It is done BOTH ways, depending upon the steepness of the roof.
Well my gutters are 5" deep and these gutter guards are 6" deep. They are listed as 5.25" deep...huh? How can I snap these into my gutters if they are bigger then my gutters....but the listing says it can work on 4" 5" or 6" gutters. Talk about confusing.....all I want is to put some guards on my gutters. Makes no sense
Since your gutter should be under your shingle. You would place it under your shingle and into the lip of the gutter on both sides of the gutter. It's a piece of metal that you're covering a gutter with. It's not that complicated.
Didn’t really show how to install on a standard four inch gutter. These are for 4,5,6 inch gutters. If you are installing on 4” gutters you will have to cut to fit. Good luck.
A better illustration.

Maybe you should replay the video a few times and listen to the part where he says that this is for a "five "inch gutter. If you have a different size gutter, and this would not apply to you at all.
The ones I bought that they had at Lowe's were too wide for my gutter, they didnt fit even though it said they were for 4, 5 and 6 inch gutters.
You slide the extra width under a course of shingles
@@Seacrakker the guy just gave you instructions telling you that they do not go under the shingles. Was that too hard for you to follow?
I would imagine you could press it into both sides of the gutters and it would just "Bow" hire, and afford you better resistance to debris.
@@wiley0714 Amerimax sells several different varieties of gutter guards. The guard that fits 4, 5 and 6-inch gutters is designed to be slipped under a course of shingles. Is that too complicated for you to understand?

I don't have a tin snip. Can I cut it with a Dremel?
I am sure that if you chose to chew through it with your teeth, that would be a personal option. And thus, that would negate your question.

When they say common sense is not that common they are referring to people like you
@@wiley0714LMAO RIGHT?! Thats why youre on here watching the same instructional cause you already know everything
I know how to use a comma, which is obviously more than you.
It is amazing to me how helpless people are
Don’t judge. You will be helpless one day, chances are. And then someone will judge you.
