In my country, that song was presented as a Rod Steward song in the State radio back then, and every time I went 'Wtf, morons??!' And, no, it's a double neck belonging to Paul Stanley, and he just got it back, after having sold it ages ago.
This song is proof that the radio stations had it out for them. Had this been rod Stuart it would no doubt have been a huge hit. For as many people that listen to them with their eyes, more people should listen with their ears. Kiss was a damn good band.
This was all over the radio back in the day and actually had much more airplay than "Beth" did. Always loved this song, still do. Paul Stanley wrote this song to send to Rod Steward as a kind of follow up to Maggy Mae, but Peter Criss heard it and insisted that the sing it on the next album, glad that he did. Garth Brooks did this on the kiss tribute album. Because Garth Brooks is a long time kiss fan that's why Garth Brooks had fireworks in his show being the first country guy to do that. He loves kiss. Garth Brooks wanted to do God of Thunder but his management would not let him. Garth actually did this on the Tonight Show and kiss back him up. Very cool

Peter has an amazing song that a lot of people forget or overlook, in my opinion. Dirty Livin from the Dynasty album. Its probably his last song as a member of KISS.
This song was a great answer to Rod Stewart at the time- they made indirect versions of other folks' songs a lot, "inspired". Garth Brooks covered it and also performed it with Kiss on I think Conan O'Brien. Yes, check Hooligan!
