The cylinders did not get hot because they are dummys. I bought a pump just like this one, although I could not say it was the same make as this one, I took off the plastic look alike cylinder heads and found only one side had a small pump fitted, and the other side was empty, so beware when thinking of buying a so called ( TWIN cylinder ) pump.
Got one of these on eBay and it only really has one cylinder. Looked inside and no joke missing the second cylinder. The plastic looking heat sink is deceptive. Take the 4 screws on top out and you can see if you have been suckered like me.
I believe it. But I'll stick with my 12volt 150 psi Pittsburg it works great had it for 4 years and it's never let me down I also carry plugs because you never know when you may get a flat tire.
It looks like the coiled hose is smaller in diameter than the black hose, or is it the same? If it is smaller and creates some restriction, would that cause the high heat issue" I imagine filling a typical automobile tire would not get it as hot. Thanks for the review and all of your great HVAC videos.
please advise me ' I am doing a Diy air compressor 15 liter tank using the double piston is it advisable? for this pump to be install to work as a air compressor thank you
Interesting.. Thanks for the review. Can you do a video on safety precaucions. I am sure you have seen or experience accidents. It is dangerous to work with high pressure devices. I would appreciate it.
I would install a set of alligator clamps the ends of the wire. Then connect to the battery direct. A bit of caution: connect the positive (red) first, on the battery. Then connect the other to the frame of the vehicle away from the battery. GFM
We had a link belt crane mounted on a chain drive wheeled gun carrier using a 110 volt little air compressor it took 9 hours to fill up . Did we get our money's worth? I'd say so
These are not twin cylinder , the cylinders are plastic housings , one has a tiny pump system inside the other is empty!, its just a totally standard single cylinder tyre compressor in a fancy box that makes it look like a twin ,, Dirty scam
Hai Hollie, Yes you are right about the plastic housings, but inside there really are 2 metal cylinders with die-cast pistons and teflon piston rings. Instead of dissipating the generated heat from the cylinders, the plastic housing actually insulates them, thats why the housing feels relatively cool and the hose gets hot. Best is to completely remove all of the plastic parts so the unit stays as cool as possible and runtime is prolonged before thermal shutdown.
@@chamagical There is a review on amazon showing how one of the cylinders is empty inside. they save some cents just removing one piston and rod and having a smaller crankshaft down on the motor for just one of the sides. If you have one, you should check that. The one on the amazon review is the same exact model as this. You can tell the difference between the real and fake ones because of no pressure dial on the pump itself and the handle.
*This is INSANELY nice.💫 **allabout.wiki/Viair** i got a Bostitch 6 gallon pancake and the regulator broke, and it was stupid loud. Also, the gauges barely worked. it wouldnt even power a die grinder. But this little dude ROCKS. Its not only 1/4 as loud as the Bositch, it works like a fine tuned machine should. Kudos to California Air Tools! This performs EXACTLY as advertised. Cant beat the price either.*
I like these genuine, straightforward, no nonsense reviews. Hats off to grayfurnaceman!

Its actually larger and it did not get hot. Could be the insulating capacity of the black hose.

OK, thanks. Yes, probably the black hose material absorbs the heat.

I will put it on the list.

thank you
Is there a thermal shutoff? What are the duty cycles limits?
I never found one.

I was expecting two burnt up pumps with plenty of dripping molten rubber and plastic lol.
This safari inflator always damage my cigarette car fuse what should I do?

Interesting I buy this
I got a 10 amp one cylinder and it could not do anything......could not pump up a tire before smoking.......
Sounds like a turkey.

Ok , it's got its faults but the price determine it worth. Sort of like shopping @ Harbor freight which I shop regularly
The first thing that goes on small compressor is the Schrader value lock down once that goes , that is the end good for 10 fill ups
