Im in a similar position. It such a shame. As an experiment a few years ago i asked one of my friends to listen one of the cool songs i found the day before, if i remember correctly it was ,,rise", and he said its amazing. than i told him its from lol, and what a coincidence, from that moment he started finding a lot of things he didnt like. A lot of people feels like they need to hate videos like this, just because its from a videogame
I dont think anyone's mentioned this but in lore ornn hasn't used his forge for atleast a couple thousand years so him making something especially a weapon means he's preparing to fight
Lore-wise, Pantheon is one of my favorite characters. He is just so cool, badass and inspiring.
Basically and without spoilers, he is a human with the powers of an Aspect (gods of Targon). He is against every being more powerful than a human who uses those powers against them, whether it's a God, a Celestial, a Darkin, he doesn't care.
A cool detail found in this cinematic, is that when he fights those Targon soldiers (mere humans), he leaves his spear aside and uses only his fists. But when Leona, the Aspect of the sun, arrives, he grabs his spear back as he gives her a defiant smile.
YES! I think Necrit pointed out in his video how he puts down his spear to fight humans, such an awesome touch! Looking forward to learning more about him as a character 😁
You've gotten a lot right but there's a few more bits to add.
Pantheon is the Aspect of war, the one that currently resides in Atreus. Atreus is the human here.
An Aspect isn't a physical being, it's like a ghost but with a mind (and ofcourse godly magic/powers).
An Aspect picks someone (not always willingly) to bind with and empowers that *vessel* you could say. There's times where the original host have no control, and other times the Aspect let's them use their power without batting an eyelid.
Atreus, years ago, had a bunch of friends whom were attacked by barbarians. Leona - empowered by the Aspect of the Sun, just stood by and watched Atreus' friends get slaughted. It's unknown why, - maybe not something to get involved in?
Atreus later found himself returning to Targon that was in a battle against barbarians and came across another possessed Vessel, however instead of being controlled by an Aspect, this particular being was possessed by a Darkin. After a battle (avoiding spoilers) He vowed to never backdown and became very oppressive and growing a strong distaste to these "ascended" people because he thinks of them as assholes. He doesn't think anyone should be controlled and basically be given the power of a God, and do nothing to help (reference to him losing his friends).
Back to this cinematic, Atreus' show of *peace* is him standing his spear up, however the guardians weren't going to be peaceful, but he didn't want to kill them either, so he defeats them using just his shield and own hands. He only takes up his weapon when Leona (an Aspect remember) has come down as he wants to fight with the aspects.
Pantheon was killed by a godkiller and then the mortal man within just swung back harder. Pantheon goes hard as hell.
I can explain the video for you.. so basically the video is announcing the new void event that RIOT mentioned. But when it comes to lore this video represents the following: (Necrit is basically explaining the same thing)
1) It starts and ends with Ornn crafting a weapon (sword - which we see at the end of the video). His appearance in the video is very short but it foreshadows that ornn is crafting weapons for other champions cause the big war is coming (war between who? I dont know).
2) Sejuani, Olaf, Voliebear
You can see that Sejuani is walking with only a few of her soldiers. If you read the lore you will know that Sejuani scattered her soldiers into smaller groups around Freljord so they would have a higher chance at survival. She believes the fewer the mouths to feed the better the chances are of survival. You can see that Sejuani with her soldiers is headed to Earth sign territories to reclaim the cauldron of Ornn... long story short -> whoever sips from the cauldron doesnt have to eat for a year, and this cauldron was stolen by the followers of Volibear who has the cauldron at the moment. The reason why they stole it is because Volibear and his followers believed that this cauldron made humans weak and if they want to survive they better fight for it.
The reason why his followers (known as Ursine) look like Volibear himself just much smaller is that they are regular humans but because of such strong belief in Volibear and such high degree of worshiping him, the wild power of the Volibear took over their bodies and thats why they dont look like humans anymore. However you should know that there are 2 types of Ursines, Good normal ones and crazy wild ones. These in the video are the good ones. We then see Olaf throwing his axe at one of the Ursine's on which he defend himself and call upon the Volibear's power which then leads to us actually seeing Volibear's imprint in the sky. His call to Volibear's powers came and hit Sejuani which knock her down from her boar. Then we can see the lighting killing the rest of her soldiers.
3) Taliyah and Kai'Sa
They are in a small region called Zolan, which is in Shurima. Zolan is most known for the Statue of faceless God, which you can see in the video. In previous lores, it was written that people were talking that void was forming beneath this place. The reason why Kai'Sa is there is to fight off the void. The reason why Taliyah is there is that she was with her people and friends but Kai'Sa came to her and told her about the Void so she went to help Kai'Sa.
In the video we can see that Rek'Sai's brood which are known as Xer'Sai (yes the first one in the video was NOT Rek'Sai) ambush Kai'Sa and Taliyah but they manage to defeat it. However, the huge sinkhole opens up. They look at each other and on Kai'sa you can see the face of acceptance and the worrying face of Taliyah beacue they both know exactly what Kai'sa needs to do and is about to do. Rek'Sai emerges and Kai'Sa taunts Rek'Sai back to the Void. This is to make sure she leads Rek'Sai away from Taliyah so that she can stay safe and helps rebuild the Zolan. Although in previous lore we found out that someone was hired to fix the face of the Statue of faceless God, Taliyah smashes the entire statue to close the sinkhole and the Void. We then see Kai'Sa still faling into the Void still taunting Rek'Sai to keep everyone safe on the ground and keep Rek'Sai as far as possible from humans.
4) Targonian Story - Pantheon, Leona, Aurelion Sol
Pantheon is trying to reach the peak of Mount Targon. We dont know why he would try to do that but we can see that he is approaching a Solari portal which would take him directly to the peak. What we do know is that Pantheon really hates other Aspects (those are the champions who are Gods of something)... Some of the Aspects are Leona, Diana, Zoe, Taric... and Pantheon himself). He hates them because he believes that they dominate the humanity and treat humans like worms. So we assume he is going to the peak of Targon to fight the Aspects.
We can see when Pantheon approaches the Solari portal, the Solari soldiers tries to stop Pantheon on which he sticks his spear into the ground (which is his symbol of peace) so we know that he does not want to fight them, he did not come for them. However, Solari still attack him so he defeats them all fighting without his weapon just with fists cause he does not really want to harm the humans, only the Aspects. Then we see the Sun coming up from which Leona descend from the Heaven. After seeing that the Aspect showed up, you can see Pantheon picking back up his weapon. The fight between Leona and Pantheon is broken up by the falling star which came from Aurelion Sol. We can then see that Pantheon has fallen to the bottom of Mount Targon. When he looks around him he can see the weapons of all the other people who tried to climb it and failed (that is the shot with many weapon on the ground). We know the weapons are not from the current battle because the sword in the ground is Demacian sword... and no Demacian character is in this video. In the background we can see more stars falling down and in the middle of them on the mountain you can see Leona's light. Now it is just a theory, but why there are more starts falling down is believed to be because the Pantheon is the one who held Aurelion's reigns. It was the aspect of war that held the Aurelion under control and now that the Pantheon (aspect of war) is taken down, Aurelion had gain back his control. This might indicate that Aurelion wants to rebel against Runeterra and that is why Leona was also surprised by the falling starts. But that part is just a theory it is not yet confirmed. Then we can see Pantheon call upon the remnant powers of the dead aspect (those lights around him going inside him). The last scene of Pantheon we see him jumping into the sky right into the starts (his ult) which we believe he is on his way to Aurelion Sol. It is important to mention that the only one who has the ability to close the voids is Aurelion Sol so maybe Pantheon is trying to make Aurelion Sol close the Voids. So he want to retake control of Aurelion Sol.
It’s actually Xolan and the god is known as Xolani
Atreus, the body of Pantheon was found worthy by him and thus controlled him. In a later story Aatrox defeated the aspect of War, Pantheon, but Atreus remained alive and defeated Aatrox. Now Atreus is a human that can use the power of the Aspect of War.

A little bit of a synopsis for anyone who doesn't really read lore:
Taliyah (Earthbender) and Kai'sa (Symbiote Lady) are investigating essentially a new void incursion in Shurima. They are attacked by these Void Packhunters called the Xer'sai, who are lead by the modern league Void leader, Rek'sai (The biggest one). Kai'sa decides to lead her back from where she came so that the Void creatures are delayed and don't rampage anymore.
Sejuani (Boar-riding warrior) and Olaf (Horned helmet dual-axeman) are fighting against the tribe of shamans in the Freljord called the Ursine. They worship the god of thunder, Volibear, who can be seen in the clouds as his avatar sends down lightning.
Pantheon (Spartan dude) is climbing up Mount Targon, most likely to challenge any number of the aspects and gods that call it home, through the portal. He fights the Solari warriors than is attacked by Leona (Sun shield woman). He almost wins but then some Targonian power (Which can be Aurelion Sol, another Aspect, or something else altogether) blasts the area around Targon in an attempt to stop him from climbing further. He then uses his Celestial Weapons, which he reignited with mortal will, to fly up to Mount Targon, most likely to fight whoever sent those comets.
Is Aurelion Sol an aspect? thought he just was one of the earliest creatures other than the watchers

@@oli_7883 Sorry for the confusion, but yes Aurelion Sol is NOT an Aspect. He was one of the first beings in the universe, but was locked up by the aspects.
Every region in runeterra has an inner conflict right now, freljords clans, ionian pacifists, the mage revoloution, lunari and solari, noxus just being noxus leblanc being leblanc and of course arcane

@@ChocolateKieran Definitely a mix of toxic people in game during league but honestly in my opinion, play with the right people or friends you know and you’ll have a WAY better experience rather than pairing with randoms. It can be a hate & love relationship with league due to some of these said randoms but I love it at least lol

So just to let you know Icathia which was swallowed by the void is on shurimas border and the void has tears throughout shurima. There is also a frozen tear in the Frejlord(Frail - Yord) and targon is responsible for sealing these tears even if they don't know it
I see, so that is why all of the areas shown in this cinematic connect! They all are affected by or have a connection with the void? 😁

The Call is like another teaser for a big event like the Ruination. Like how Ornn is making a weapon, which means he is preparing for war.

In Order of Scene:
Ornn is the Ram-like Character forging a Sword. He's the God of the Forge, one of Several Primal Gods in League of Legends (others are Aniva, think frozen pheonix ) and Volibear (thunder Bear). He's forging a Weapon. We don't know what or why, but we're glad to finally see him in a cinematic. Aparently it's a big deal if he's crafting a weapon because he ahsn't done so in a thousand years plus.
In the Freljord (Frozen North), The Boar is named Bristles and is ridden by Sejuani, The warlike leader of a clan called the WinterClaw. Her people are starving and it is rumored that the Cauldron of Ornn can create food. So they are searching for it. The male Viking with the cool helmet and the amazing axe throw is Olaf. he's a Berserker. They are fighting against the Ursine(bear people). Ursine are Follower's of Volibear and Volibear had them take control of the Cauldron of Ornn because Volibear thinks Ornn is to soft on the mortal races. The Ursine are trying to keep Sejuani and her people from finding it. The Ursine channel the lightning of Volibear and do a good number on Sejuani's People. It's worth noting that Sejuani is a 'Frost Born' and one of few people able to hold 'True Ice' weapons, which are weapons' of permanent ice/frost that cause extreme freezing pain to non Frost Born who touch them. She uses a True Ice flail. Her Bola that turns the Ursine into ice is also True Ice and is her In Game Ultimate Ability.
In the desert, the woman picking up the cloth is Taliyah(sp?). she's effectively an earth bender and is part of a tribe of displaced people in the Shuriman Desert, a land that was once ruled by ascendant god-kings (think Pharoahs) that went on a war rampage, tapped the void for death magic, and ended up corrupting the god kings and turning almost the entire continent into a vast desert. It used to be verdant farmland and jungle.
The alien armored woman with Taliyah is Kai'sa., she became lost as a child and fell into a Void Cave and had to survive in the Void, the armor she wears is actually a living void organism that has formed a symbiotic bond with her and helped her survive the void (it can't be removed though). She's actually only just recently found a way out of the void and re-entered the world. She recently met Taliyah while attempting to clear out some caves of void creatures and decided to try and help her people safely navigate the desert to their homeland (they both know it's inhabited by some void desert creatures similar to the Tremors Worm movie). Taliyah and Kai'sa exchange a knowing look once tey see the big mama void spawn (Named RekSai) is comming. Taliyah knows they can't defeat it and the only thing to do is for Kai'sa to goad Reksai into chasing her back into the void, but that means Kai'sa will be trapped again. That explains the tender, worried look that they exchange to each other. Kai'sa sacrifices herself, attacking Reksai all out while falling back into the hole that leads to the void. Taliyah tries to fill in the hole behind her to stop other creatures from getting out. Kai'sa shows her determination as she falls, she has survived the void before, and knows she can do it again. She ensured Taliyah and her people would survive too.
The Spartan Climbing the cliffs to a Magic Gate is Pantheon. He once was the Aspect of War (aspects are gos, effectively). When the Aspects claim a mortal as their vessel, they typicaly kind of take them over, it's not really pleseant for the host mind/body. Pantheon's Aspect is slain by Aatrox, but the man (atreus) survives and still ahs god-like power. He determines that all super powerful beings should eb destroyed and decides to kill all the othe aspects, among othe rpowerful god/demi-god entities. One of the places the aspects interact with the world is through a gate to the aspects Realm on Mt. Targon (think greek Mt. Olympia), which is guarded by sun worshippers called the Solari. Pantheon at the Gate of the Aspects fights the Solari defending it and then faces of with Leona, the Heavily armored Female warrior, who is the Aspect of the Sun and Leader of the Solari. Fun Tidbit, Leona's willpower was so strong that when the Aspect of the Sun invaded her she remained in control. Then Pantheon gets hit by one of two things, which hasn't been confirmed yet:
A bolt from the Universal Dragon, Called Aurellian Sol, a literal star forging dragon the size of a nebula the creates and destroys stars and worlds. The Aspects long ago humiliated Aurelian Sol and tricked him into wearing a cursed crown that siphons his power away and keeps him weak. Thematically it looks like his in game bolts.
Or a bolt from the Aspect of Twilight, Zoe. She's mischievous and a trickster. In game she throws some very highly damaging and long ranged bolts. Interestingly, most of the other aspects Ignore her and she has befriended Aurellion Sol.

What alot of people think is that the bear you see fighting see fighting against sejuani is volibear but it is the ursine the followers of volibear. My guess is that you can see volibear in the background at 1:28 of the cinematic because voli is in lore alot bigger then they are.
Pantheon is one of the recipients of the targonian aspects, the aspect of war but he beat the aspect inside his body (or something like that) and he is not a murderer like most aspects, the others who want to conquer runeterra and he se I swear to destroy them all, they are not gods but are treated as such as they are entities known as celestial
Kai'sa is originally from shurima but when she was 10 her and her village got sucked into the void. And when she attacked a void monster with her knife if fused with her and gave her a 2nd skin so she fights against the void now.
The thing that hit Pantheon was a Bolt from Aurelion sol, the God. Pantheon is just flying up there to teach him a lesson.
This is the trailier on the on going story line and events it leads to.
Kai sai just got out of the void but choose to go back in to lead that monster away called reksai.
Full Blast Context! Part 1
The Freljord scene (Snowy Mountain), you follow Sejuani (lady riding the boar, his name is Bristle) & Olaf (the giant twin axe Viking. Her father figure, he's looking for something BIG enough to kill him.) who are leading a portion of her people to find Ornn's Cauldron a mythical item that one sip can feed people for weeks. She's in desperate need of this cause while she has a "Less mouths to feed" policy she does want her tribe to survive.
Ornn is the Ram headed blacksmith you see, he is one of the 3 of 5 sibling Gods currently in-game of League along with his brother The Volibear (in the clouds above the battle) & Anivia the Cryo-Pheonix.
The Ursine (the bear faced people in this cinematic) Volibear's followers killed Ornn's followers & took the cauldron cause in the shade of grey area you were talking about, Volibear believes in Survival of the Fittest.
He thinks if everyone is just sitting around sipping on Ornn's creation, they'll become lazy & complacent. So there's that conflict.
That Ice chunk sure wasn't big enough

Fun fact, Pantheon slamming his spear into the ground initially was a sign of wanting peace by his people. Which means the Solari said F U to that.

@@ChocolateKieran Well ... most of the latest league cinematography are based on pure Lore. Runeterra is so big and there are so many stories to tell that I think Riot could have decades of Arcane

3:03 the sejuani and the ursine (polar bear zealots) conflict is that their God (demi-god) Volibear stole Ornn's cauldron that can feed a whole tribe cuz it prints out food. and sejunai's tribe is starving so theyre gonna steal it. back. we only find out bout this in a short story they wrote last year. theres no vid for this info

Unlikely to actually be asol, given that asol probably wouldn't give a damn if Leona won or lost. Besides, while pantheon is certainly impressive, asol is on another level (he's literally the STAR FORGER).
Tenebrix and Necrit are both good for lore. I like Tenebrix a bit better cause she explains the lore even from the shorts and comics, tying it into this cinematic. She has a reaction to this, where at the end she explains every lore behind it and the background how it came those far

About Kai'sa, she is not "from" the void, she was cast to the void as a child and managed to scape as she is now, the fact that she appears a lot in shurima is because the Void Rift is located there, and she hunts voidlings that come out to Runeterra through this rift.

@@ChocolateKieran I find it quite unlikely that asol is the one who ambushed Pantheon, given that:
A. Pantheon is still alive
B. Leona doesn't hold Asol's reins
C. Asol is more concerned with the void right now rather than the affairs of mortals.

The Call easily is better than in terms of the CGI the texture is almost live action in the face shots compare to Awaken and Warriors but still every cinematic, animation, music is a masterpiece I love these 3 season cinematics!

So for the events in Freljord, everybody's main goal is survival. Sejuani's tribe, the Winter's Claw, is facing hard times, but an elder told them about Ornn's Cauldron, a magical item crafted by, you guessed it, Ornn for his worshippers so they didn't need to hunger. But the ursine, Voli's worshippers, stole it. Voli's whole deal is that he doesn't want the people to be "tamed", if they wish to survive, they should fight with tooth and claw for it. The reason why she took just a handful is because the Winter's Claw is split all across the Freljord so that they have an easier time to survive/don't have to feed as many mouths. And yes, that bear was an ursine. The Volibear is canonically double the size of those mountains, as seen by his shadow. The big red fluffball forging a sword is Ornn, another demigod and Voli's brother.
Pantheon is a human who uses a aspects power (gods) to kill aspects because he hates them. Thats why he is fighting leona. He hates aspects because they treat mortals like garbage.

Ornn forging weapons are for those that knows his lore. after he had his fight with Volibear he stopped making weapons. The fact that he started forging them again is him getting ready for war.

This cinematic is pure canon and many have explained here. Amazing isn't it? A man with the remnants of a god shooting to the top of Mount Targon like a star, a war mother beating the shit out of some Ursine shamans (followers of the God Volibear), a void creature fighting a hot chick who hunts them...all in the same verse as Arcane (tbf it isn't canon ......yet)

You should really watch Necrit. His lore videos are amazing. You should also watch the Necrit video where he rank the most powerful league champions according to lore (he doesn't go into their lore, just kinda why he place them in the order he does)
The video follow three stories, basically pantheon trying to reach the top of the mountain likely to fight the gods, he is very kratos like.
Sejuani with a group including olaf (who is supposedly immortal because a profecy say he would die peacefully on his sleep) they are trying to get a magic cauldron that ornn forge because they are hungry , but turns out the ursine, followers or volibear have it ( volibear and ornn hate each other)
Taliyah and kaisa fighting the xersai and eventually reksai the queen of the xersai (basically void land sharks) kai sa realize she can't kill the big one and gives a lot to taliyah of "I lure her back to the void, you close this I will be fine" (she been in the void before and probably can get out again)

Hands up was my reaction too. It was well made, but "What is going on?" The trailer and music built and fights, however it didnt seem to really have any content that was engaging if didnt already know it from elsewhere.

The chat is saying that it could be Zoe but I doubt it would be. In her story, Zoe's Q (Paddle Star) Skill alone, nuked an entire village (And she thought the villagers just played hide and seek with her when she literally dusted them, on accident). Plus, I doubt Zoe would care.

Hey Kieran, could you react to the Falconshield "This is War" Songs? They are basically Fanmade Rap Battles between League of Legends Champions. The first ones have themes like Demacia vs Noxus, Zaun vs Piltover and The Void vs the Shadow Isles. They are really well made and some Characters are even voiced by Popular League Streamers or even Nicky Taylor who sang the 2015 World Championship Song for League of Legends. I think you would really enjoy them.

Necrit is a good person to watch. Check out tenebrix as well. Shes pretty knowledgeable when it comes to lore, plus shes pretty good at explaining and running things down. Necrit is good but he likes to throw alot of speculation into his vids, the newer ones anyways, so its easy to go off the rails.

Also some of necrits videos such as the zeri video, the sejuani video and the malzahar video (that all came recently before the new cinematic) are kind of going over short stories that are put out in a audiobook kind of feel with some visuals on screen, I highly recommend you check out those one's too if you want to know more about what's going to happen this year in terms of lore, he also gives his own thoughts at the end of the short stories about the lore implications.

You should try reacting to "The principles of strength", "Sejuani is going to fight Volibear" and especially "Where Icathia once stood". The last one in particular is a story that easily competes with Arcane in terms of narrative and world building. It is by far one of the best stories Riot has ever made and one of the best stories I have ever read period. So I highly recommend you check that one out on Necrits channel

I actually liked The Call a lot less than both Warriors and Awaken but it clearly had an AMAZING visual quality. Those details were insane. I just think the fight scenes weren't nearly as cool or as visually inspiring as Jhin vs Camille and Riven vs Draven for example. Also not as wallpaper ready as those two shots were.
It’s also not my favourite of the three too! I’m not sure if its because I watched the other two more but I agree the combat and scenarios were interesting even outside of a lore perspective for those! This was too, but Riven vs Draven was awesome! I still really enjoyed this one though, all of them have been great
