    You guys have a good thing going in the DR but you can do more. This country can be a first world country by just improving on a few things. Reduce poverty by introducing social programs, clean up the streets, improve medical care, improve infrastructure especially electricity, enforce traffic laws(if they exist) and reduce crime and corruption. You guys have a beautiful country, don’t muck it up.

      That is the clear goal for just about every up and coming latin country that matches DR. These things happen over time of course and not overnight.

    The country is more rich as it is being sold to international investors. But the citizens are poorer. And 50% have to go into debt to put food on the table.

    Hispagniola, the true story of Haiti is that Spain, where the Dominicans came from, joined forces with the Africans on the island to expel the French from the island after the treaty between Spain and France. Spain wanted to regain control of the territory and pacify it in 1804. After a few years of coexistence between Africans and Dominicans, they decided to divide it into two parts. : Santo Domingo and Haiti. same island governed by two different governments. Spain is conspiring against France to monopolize the entire island of Haiti, which has not been possible thanks to the fact that the second official language is French for Africans and Spanish for Spain. It is a paradox for a single town on the emancipation train. Haitians are not going to choose the Spanish more than the French, especially because they are from the same family.
    I wish peace and coexistence to everyone, that is the main thing.

    • @lambvett
      @lambvett 9 месяцев назад +2

      Everything you said was incorrect. Dominicans don't come from Spain. Dominicans were made on the island by the mixing of Spaniards, the native Tainos, and the African slaves later brought to the island by the Spanish. Haitians are descendants of African slaves brought to the island by the French 2 centuries later. Spain and France divided the island. Then the African slaves of the French revolted and with the help of yellow fever defeated the French temporarily until they returned and forced Haiti to pay them for their independence. Haiti then invaded and occupied the Dominican side of the island. After a 22 year occupation the Dominicans claimed independence from Haiti and fought for 12 years defeating every Haitian invasion into Dominican territory. Honestly you need to just do a google search and read the history.

    LIAR: It's a common river, shared by both countries. Dominican Republic built 11 canals on the river without any prior consultation with Haitian officials. For once, Haitian farmers are trying to finish the first and only one canal on that river, which both countries agreed on under the Moise administration; but unfortunately the greed of power made you take foolish decisions that ended up jeopardizing your future in politics. This is an international river shared by both countries that can be used EQUALLY although most people with sense cannot see how 11 canals = 1 canal. Even if Haitians could care less about the prior 11 canals, you've done the worse by reopening the 12th canal in order to deviate the waters, so that small amount could reach the Haitian side where the canal will be connected (these are your own words answering a journalist's question). If Haitians want to use your own words, your action with the 12th canal, it's a clear violation of the 1929 treaty.

      11 canals in Dominican Land, not in the part that is shared by this 2 countries. Haiti also can build 11 canals in Haiti, but not in the small part that is shared but Dominican Republic and Haiti
