Since they brought Ashley Johnson and Troy baker and some of the other voice actors into the show in small or big roles I hope they bring Laura Bailey she deserves it after the hate she got from playing Abby
She was already the nurse at the end of last season which is the same role she played originally in the first game

I don't doubt that they'll both do great in this scene, but this season isn't going to cover the whole game with 7 episodes, so why are they doing this scene now? I thought the scene's placement at the end of the game was perfect. I don't know why they'd put it here unless they're switching its order.
Off topic, but think it’s safe to say that MAX has been giving us bangers after bangers. Even their mediocre stuff are still better than most of what’s coming out on other streaming services imo. MAX may not be perfect, but at least they’re consistent in giving us quality.

It has some pretty unfortunate pacing issues but it is a master class game in every other respect.

@@machodgdon I had a feeling they'd switch it up in terms of narrative so that Abby can come across as more sympathetic as well. Starting from where the game did, it's hard to pull the audience back into understanding that character's perspective. This will give them a chance to build her up before then so you can better accept how things turn out from her perspective.

I think that the tv series audience is a bit more tolerant then the gamers. In TWD a lot of main characters got the same treatment

Tv it's not the same format. The issue with the game was that it made you play half the game hunting down Abby and then tried to make you understand why she did everything.
The narrative structure of the game was a bad choice. The tv show won't have that problem.
The story is great, it's just that the game tried to be a tv show too much and forgot you are not a passive watcher here and after 15 hours of hating someone you have to play as said character.
This wouldn't have happened if the narrative would jump back and fort between Ellie and Abby from the begining.
Cailee spaeny would have been the perfect choice for Ellie in the last of us 2 😞😞😞😞

@@tobyb1018 Nah, hating on the voice actress was dumb and immature, but hating the character isn't. You talk about "well if we played as Abby in the first one" but the thing is, we don't, we play as Joel for almost the entire game and learn why he is the way he is and love his relationship with Ellie, then the second game drops and Abby gives the players a reason to hate her right off the bat, and then they go and make you play as her for 12 hours in an attempt to make you feel for her and make Ellie look evil, they destroyed the bonds that made people fall in love with the first game.
Thing is, ever since the second game came out, a huge chunk of the fanbase took a liking to acting like Joel was nothing but an irredeemable monster, just because they fell for a simple "revenge is bad story" (Unless you're called Abby).
So yeah, people aren't dumb for hating on a character like her, just as people aren't dumb for liking her either, both have their reasons, but it's a shame that so much of the fanbase decided to act like the only parts of the first game that exist are the line about Joel killing a bunch of people during the twenty years before meeting Ellie, and him killing the fireflies and dooming a mankind that had done nothing but take from him since the game started.
@@tobyb1018I loved both Joel and Abby, and I loved Ellie too but in the second game she loses points for me due to being blinded by rage, but it’s understandable rage.
I think the whole story and characters were written so well and there’s so much more depth to them than just “that buff girl killed off Joel! She’s evil!”. Literally every person in that world/universe is more than black and white and I love the second game as it gives the NPCs names and has them cry out for each other when we as the player start picking them off.
I 100% agree with you, anyone that just blindly hates Abby is immature and are missing out on some absolutely incredible writing!
The Last of Us 2 is a masterpiece. If they deliver, we're going to get a wild season of television.

Most likely fine. A majority of the people who played part 2 liked it. You'll always have to just tune out the obnoxiously loud minority.
It's different. We've impersonified **** for hours, they watched him in the show for like 4-5hrs of actual screentime at best
Much better. Happily, most TV viewers are not emotionally immature men.
We shall have to wait and see, but probably significantly better. The gaming community as a whole can be very... toxic. Your average TV viewer is a lot more even-handed, if only by comparison.
