My brother got a xbox that year. They really liked to promote staying inside for the healthy one and promoted me riding a mini board as the slightly overweight one. LIFE can be funny.

Only have a small piece of it left after it broke.

Kept the kryptonics board though, and swapped out the trucks and wheels and bearings and everything. Used it to try learning how to ollie (still on that) and snapped the nose off. Still have the nose in my trunk as a souvenir.
I have a Kryptonics Cruiser board that flies & bought it for $10, but I put different bearings and Super Juice 55mm wheels on it. I also put the grip tape in stripes at a 45 degree angle. I like it.
I started late 80s on a toy store board (€10 today's money) with vinyl for "grip" tape. The trucks somehow were GREAT, at least for me. With Slammer wheels and a random beat up deck I had something that worked, for me.
I like „it‘s just a 9 stair“ 😂 everything past 6 is not fun anymore. And unless you push yourself for a project or practice for said probably not worth it.

I got to say that i do like the polished alloy efect for the graphics though. And lol, when i was a kid, mongoose was what you would kill for in a bmx and i ended up with a chrome one with blue skyway tuffs and trick pegs that was the envy of all my friends. I still had it handing up on hooks as kind of wall art with my first deck ( zero single skull poppical shaped 7.75" , V pressing ) and 10 years ago and someone broke in to my garage to steal only my bike? Must be money in vintage 80s bmxs? Mongoose has come down in quality in bikes now. Thats a crying shame but we must not have had mongoose boards in Australia, this is the first ive ever seen of them.

He did the same with my first skateboard... he talked me into getting a Cabellero because it was REALLY big and goofy for such a small kid. It was literally the biggest board in the shop, I seriously only think he pushed me to get that because it was so big and dumb looking. I hated it. In retrospect. what a fucking dick. Seriously. (it wasn't that sleek looking Cabellero, it was that huge ramp style board with no shape... fucking hated that thing.
