The comforting part where he talks about recognizing your efforts and finding a different place to work literally had me in tears. It’s something people don’t hear a lot but should, and it gets hard sometimes. It helps that this felt really in-character with his softer side when one of the kids needs him.

A couple years ago, I had been working for schools for a while. I loved those kids. They would come back year after year to say hi and I'd get to see their progress. I would stay after clocking out regularly to help with stuff that couldn't get done during the day. (You'd be surprised how much needs done that doesn't Get done in a classroom.) The last year I was put to work with someone new and well.. it didn't work well. (Me wanting to help how I had been for years, them doing things they probably had been taught to do, but seemed to be affecting the kids in a way I don't think the teacher realized. They were technically in charge, so I didn't really have say. ) I ended up experiencing burnout/ breakdown by the end of the year. That's when 2020 issues started. After realizing how often I found myself crying to or from work, I decided to quit. I was terrified, but it also felt like a relief.
These audios are part of what helped me during those times and various moments since. I know va's change over time but thank you for all your work, and thank you Anigomi.
I didnt realize how much I needed this. Its the last couple weeks of HS and we are just getting over state testing and all of the class testing that goes with it. ❤
