Absolutely LOVE the "key points discussion" after the game. It's also interesting that for a brief period after the valkyries got rid of the mutas, Terran was ahead of the Zerg in both overall supply and workers, but didn't last long.
"Artosis dumped his post agame analysis straight on guys in the comments. His knowledge of the game was thick and rich. The guys were blessed with RT's wisdom being pourev all over them"
Broodwar has truly aged like a fine wine. I used to watch a little of it before SC2, then I thought (foolishly) it was just a relic once SC2 released. But watching the meta and gameplay evolve in Broodwar versus SC2 has been night and day. It's an amazing game that I look forward to watching here every day.
Staying after a good match and giving us an analysis is actually way more engaging than you think. I love the info I get while I am watching, but sometimes things happen so fast at this level that you can't possibly explain everything at the same time for us who know way less about the game, but doing so after the match is done is a great way to give us tools to figure it out in the future, love it!
This is wild, I was watching the video yesterday where you suggested commenting more specific requests. I was going to put games featuring Soma's mutalisk play but then my wife went into labor and didn't. Now I have a daughter and Arti read my mind. What a Christmas!
What sucks even more for the terran is that he was constantly floating 300-400 minerals. So there was no excuse to not have 2-3 missile turrets to defend with his units.
Love the breakdown at the end!! It's good to see exactly where the difference was made! The key points! Especially as I'm kind of learning a little bit more about the game it's good to get that expert opinion
I’m really loving watching these casts every day. I also really appreciate the explanations of the finer points in the game, and the history of the players. I’ve loved StarCraft since the day it came out but haven’t followed the pro scene much.
Arti you are doing absolutely awesome job to entertain die hard fans and due all analysis bring even some new players. I get back to brood war after 15 years coz of your casts and have a lot od fun even though i suck and stuck in d tier.
I’ve been replaying the campaign recently, and although I’m at a level where I find it very easy now, the mechanics of the game are still crazy hard. It’s easy to forget how hard this game is actually to play if you just watch the videos, but are completely reminded of how difficult it is mechanically even just playing the campaign
Keeping the valks alive to prevent overlords from detecting mines could have been the play perhaps? Just mass vulture mines so when Dark Swarm appears it isn't autowin?
Sharp was sitting on a lot of minerals when Soma pushed in, could've been a bunker on the production and 4 missile turrets, or another barracks and more marines. Either would've been more useful than 500 minerals at that time.
Artosis, you should buy yourself a 4k monitor so that we can see these great casts in higher res/bitrate streams! Thanks for the great casting, as usual!
i think i 100% agree with your analysis of Soma, he may not be the best at either huge macro or deadly aggression, but he is still so good at both that he is a TERRIFYING player to play against, because you dont know if he's going to feel like doing a more standard foundational macro game or if he's going to go straight for your throat, and both require very different and somewhat incompatible responses. being very flexible and unpredictable but still incredibly strong and powerful is probably the best thing you can be in BW in my opinion
Just a tip Arty, when you're zooming out to show positional play, dont zoom out to the max til the point everything becomes ants. Do it with at least one level before the max.
High level BW today looks like it’s SC2 in its own right because it’s played so differently and players figured out ways to fine tune unit movements. Which is wild, because it’s still the same game.
Sorry RT but I believe you’ve already cornered the market. The 30 people in the comments already are all the foreign BW fans who still haven’t died of old age. And we already use our second accounts to boost the number of comments.
I have ZERO issue with your post-game analysis. In fact, I welcome it, and ramble all you like! The game is over and the worst that can happen is that we can cilck away if we don't want the post game analysis. I for one value your analysis and encourage it!
hello artosis, i've been watching a bunch of your casts and gameplay, i think they're great! if i could ask for a certain matchup...i would like to see more of flash's zerg!
Brood war is live-action chess and this is why I love it. Granted a game developer could create a new game that is as well-balaned in the context of brude War. Why has no one done that? Every new game creator wants to put the Razzle Dazzle on it why not just make a good game like brood war?
Two reasons. 1: StarCraft got lucky. Blizzard had fun ideas and were creative, I'll give them that, but they did get lucky. 2: Few people understand what's good about StarCraft, and fewer still understand how to recreate (and indeed improve on) that while still having automine, multi bullding selection, unlimited unit selection, etc. These features are necessary for a modern game to be accepted, but it's not simple to include them while still having the mechanical and tactical depth of StarCraft. In other words: How to lower the skill floor without lowering the skill ceiling?
GG Soma. GG as in Great (not merely good) Game. He worked those mutas like a master surgeon works a scalpel. I kind of think Soma ought to give Sharp and tons of other Terran players brain surgery. I see this over and over and over and over and over again - Terran players starting their science vessels too late, tanks too late, turrets too late, valkyries/wraiths too late. Keep the view zoomed out more throughout the game.
We love your post game rambling arty, don't apologize! One thing tho, in all casts you call terran scans "comstats", while actually these are "comsats" 😅
Don't be sorry about the rambling Dan, it's actually very fun and educational. Or thank you for your fake modesty, but is not needed. Casts are so good because you are a smart guy, you Terran user.
Absolutely LOVE the "key points discussion" after the game.
It's also interesting that for a brief period after the valkyries got rid of the mutas, Terran was ahead of the Zerg in both overall supply and workers, but didn't last long.
14:17 Please don't be afraid to dump on us. (your post-game analysis, that is) That's why we're here.
Totally agree - love the game analysis!

can’t be a surgical anti spoiler because he had to edit a comment with two words.

Are we going to finish off the 14 games series of Rain vs Zelot?
What sucks even more for the terran is that he was constantly floating 300-400 minerals. So there was no excuse to not have 2-3 missile turrets to defend with his units.
Spend em or lose em
As a new player its really insightful to hear you break down the games afterwards
Thank you Artie. I'm waiting for these casts everyday
The rambling is good. It's great to get some further insight into key moments of the game.
You should do a series reviewing legendary historical matches - Tense Flash games, ASL finals, etc. Loving your content, Artosis!
Love the breakdown at the end!!
It's good to see exactly where the difference was made! The key points!

Enjoying the post game analysis I've seen in the last few vids! Wouldn't mind more of that. Thanks for the videos everyday!

Happy New Year, Arty! Thanks for your casts!
Another amazing recent game found by your incredible prowess, Arty. Much thanks.
Never be sorry for rambling, it is frequently the best part of the cast.

As John McAffee said "dump on us baby!"
The post game analysis is totally fine. Most of your consumers will listen to it

Soma has exploited the very timing before the range completed to clean marines
Hate that Soma started his military service yesterday. :(
Expressing my continued support for post game analysis
Much more interesting than yesterday's replay, especially with the valkyrie counter. Dunno if you actually read my comment, but thanks, Artosis.
No need to apologize for rambling. You have insights to offer.

Finding that firebat is just crazy to me.
I'm imagining flying bananas with scalpels
Yes do more post game analysis!, some of us are still learning. Thanks for the great work.
Wow what a great game! Thanks for your post game rambling.
I've considered laddering again, but it's intimidating to rejoin now

Great game, fantastic post-game analysis
Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses! (Except for Flash who is good at everything) lol
hi starcraft fans out there, are there bars or pubs that broadcast sc1 or sc2 matches in your local region?
High level BW today looks like it’s SC2 in its own right because it’s played so differently and players figured out ways to fine tune unit movements. Which is wild, because it’s still the same game.
Has there been any more TvTs?

Artosis should get some actual shares of the game for how much he helps to develop audiences
Keep the highlight piece at the end
Miss the longer vidz
Can we get some more Light games?
hello artosis, i've been watching a bunch of your casts and gameplay, i think they're great! if i could ask for a certain matchup...i would like to see more of flash's zerg!
@artosis Why is the big muta blue? Is it sad?
Nah, I don’t think you were rambling. Love the analysis.
Artie, I wanna see you play more Wraith builds. Make it the meta!
Where do you guys find these replays?

How about casting iv0ry's (Z) games in ladder?

Communication Satellite
I have no idea what a "comstat" is supposed to be. Communist Statistic?
nope.
what
@Pico141 I think it's sort for communication satellite. I think spy satellite from Command and Conquer makes more sense.
@@davidorawe3931 yes, and in game it's called "comsat station" - not "comstat station"
Good game

Is anyone else here Ryan Schutt?
Of all the units in the game... I hate mutas the most. 😑
