Backyard Time Machine: The Time Travel Mystery of Mike “Mad Man” Marcum
Mike fired up the box and the lasers came to life.
The machine produced a small circular area of distortion. It was a vortex about eight inches across that looked like ripples above a fire.
This was unexpected.
Mike didn’t know what the vortex was or if it was dangerous. So he grabbed a sheet metal screw and tossed it through the field.
It vanished.
Mike just stared and blinked and waited. The screw was just… gone.
So Mike powered down his machine and turned to head back into the house.
Then heard something clattering.
It was the screw. It rolled to a stop about two feet from the box.
Mike thought he invented some kind of teleportation device.
He didn’t.
Michael “Mad Man” Marcum invented a time machine.

AJ's self awareness is astounding. Because yeah, part of the Why Files being amazing compared to so many channels is that it starts by treating everything as true. Then gives any pros and cons that can be dug up, but in the end, leaves it up to the viewers. Really, it's storytelling done in the best tradition of Art Bell's style.
I must have missed the ‘cons’ in this story. The whole story was told as if it was true and unquestionable.

I really enjoyed Art Bell… And I appreciate the fact that we had somewhat of a BS detector. Now, George Noory… Just tries to be or did try to be too polite… And he just like too much crap passed over the airwaves.
@@johnnyxmusic That was part of Art Bell's magic, and AJ's magic too, they both pay respect to the subject and leave it up to the audience to decide what might or might not be the truth. Steve Isdahl's How To Hunt RUclips channels are that way as well where he reads Sasquatch encounter stories. Too much of the mainstream propaganda news focuses on telling us what to think rather than presenting information and allowing us to think for ourselves. @@mikenodine6713 nicely put. I also miss the sitting around the campfire aspect of the Art Bell’s show.. You know, people would call in with their own opinions and experiences and stuff and I thought that was great. Also, just the idea that we’re all listening at the same time.

Art Bell (god rest his soul) was and continues to be one of the greatest storytellers of all time. He had the uncanny ability to keep his audience fully engaged, regardless of whether the story was total bunk.

Well we still have George Nory and all the co hosts that keep coast to coast show relevant.
Not saying George Nory is as captivating as Art Bell but coast to coast is still a good show. I've worked the night shift for long enough to hear some very interesting stories some of which have appeared on why files.

If you look carefully you'll see Art Bell looking over AJ's shoulder.
I worked nights at the time this happened.
I remember the episode, because I was listening.
Art Bell and Coast to Coast Radio was my go-to channel all night on WLS, Chicago.
Funny thing, when I would up going over the road, I would scan the dial for any local station that had C2C on it any time I drive at night.
There were a few times I was hundreds of miles away from Chicago, and got WLS due to the ionospheric “bounce.”
As time went in, I learned about that bounce, and it’s ranges. I could get WLS way out west, in certain parts of the Rockies, and that would change with the energy patterns of the atmosphere.
I either freaked out or impressed a lot of my student drivers doing it.
Art was one of a kind, as this guy is.
I can't tell you how much I look forward to these stories every Thursday. Absolutely beautiful storytelling

Also at 31:21 he mistakenly says "the higher the gravity, the faster time moves" but it's the opposite of that. He says "in extreme gravity like near a black hole, time would move very very fast" this is totally wrong, time almost stops 8n a black hole. I am disappointed AJ.

I've lived my entire 42 years a 20-60 min drive from all of these locations and I have never even heard this dudes name. WF, I love this channel, so much I'd give you a kidney. You and your team are a national treasure.
I live in Shawnee KS (right next to Overland Park, where the warehouse supposedly was). I hadn't heard of this either, but now I want to do some digging.
You never heard of it because it's probably not true, it's a story. You can't travel through time because our perception that makes us think there is time is only an illusion. There is no time. This existence is only a miniscule sub section of your entire existence which mostly occurs in a much higher plane.
I TOO LIVE 20 TO 40 MINUTES from these locations . I have seen some weird stuff around here. I ALSO think I may have figured put cold fusion. Like for real though, I need to know how to handle this , Because I solved the low occurrence of quantum tunneling in a palladium wire problem.
It not a true story, its a myth
@hendo337 I understand what you are saying, but I disagree. It's our perception of time that is man made, I.e. seconds, minutes, hours and days etc. These are just units of measure that man has created to put an order to our perception of time. Time exists, but it does not pass by at the rate of our invented measured units. Things are constantly changing I.e. we age, cycles of the moon etc. This in itself tells us that things are constantly changing and never stay in the present. We know that moving at the speed of light distorts our understanding of our unit measure. This demonstrates that an object moving at this speed actually slows our unit of measure down. So the theory exists that we could potentially manipulate the cycle of the constant present everyone lives in.
Never disappointed with this channel. Heckelfish picked a good human to do his stories.

This is seriously one of my all time favorite channels! Thanks for giving “weirdo’s” like myself a place to get the 411 on “conspiracies” both past and present! Oh and one more thing, thanks for giving Art Bell the proper credit for breaking many of these stories to the broader community. Who knows maybe one day we will all be mentioning you and Hecklefish in the same vein as Art?!?!?! Never say Never!! 💕
It's crazy that one electrician can do experiments on things that "mainstream" scientists with millions of dollars of funding won't touch. I respect the hunger for answers. I also respect that no matter what topic you've covered, you always approach with level headedness. You don't down someone or even ask too many questions before you tell the facts at the end, you leave it up to us to decide to believe it or not and that's commendable. Keep up the good work, and keep looking for answers to the bigger questions.
Oh, make no mistake....they touch it. And then they use it against us. Project Looking Glass.
AJ hit the nail on the head about how to present these topics online. I'm a very hard-nosed skeptic and balk at much of these tropes, but I do have enough common sense to hear a story out and withhold judgment until I have all sides on hand. So having someone present it in an unbiased, matter of fact way helps tremendously.

@@krazykuz13cmc do you mean to say you think this really happened?
Okay, there are news articles about this but there's 1 BIG problem. When Marcum took the time-trip to Fairfield Ohio - the newspaper showed he had traveled 2 years into the future. The story then goes to Marcum's 3rd interview with Art Bell of the Coast to Coast radio show (in 2015) where Marcum "Caught Art Bell up on what had happened", then found the warehouse was empty & needed money. So, the fact that he traveled 2yrs into future didn't make headlines? Even with a world known radio announcer as witness?
Look how people reacted when US Whistleblowers first revealed that the government is illegally spying on everyone all the time and then telling everyone that UAPs are REAL and non-human biological entities are the ones flying them. No one flinched. Same with this story.
Thank you for the update, AJ..!! Long time ago back in the 90s, Art Bell had a forum on his website. In the early 1998, Art aired the time traveler line, and asked all the time travelers to call in. He asked the time travelers what would happen in 1998. One dude called in and claimed he was from the future. He said he remembered a cruise ship being on fire in Florida in 1998. If I remember it correctly, the dude was a student in 1998, and he remembered that incident was live on TV. I listened to that live show late at night, and some months later that incident did occur. So I went to the forum and posted how it seemed Art had a real time traveler call in, because that cruise ship on fire incident did occur in real life in Miami Beach, and that incident was reported all over the news. Then his wife Ramona deleted my post. I asked why she deleted my post, and she deleted that as well. Soon after that they closed the forum. 🥶
That’s creepy as heck!! Real cool story…..if only art was still around!
That's entirely unremarkable and coincidental.
Seriously, that'd be like saying "I remember a tornado ruined some houses, saw it on the news."
This is an old prank. People do it all over the world, all the time, pretending to be time travelers. It's usually only supposed to fool children, though.
Setting the bar for evidence SO low that any fire, anywhere in Florida, anytime after the call, on any cruise ship/100s is simply childish. Why not ask who the next president would be? Or something that *actually* doesn't have hundreds of possibilities at any time?
It's obviously fake. So no, "that event" did not occur. A ship caught fire as they often do, and you can't separate it from some magic story you heard from a known fraud, liar, and conspiracy peddler.
What's creepy is that you think that's remarkable in any way, shape, or form@@iknowyoureright8564

My goodness, I love this channel. I’m learning about stories, myths and theories that I’ve never heard of, but I’m so fascinated! Thanks for another cracking mystery. I sure hope you’re out there Mike Marcum!
This episode is by far one of the greatest, and AJ's comments on how to story is even better. Thanks TWF team. Your videos are my must watch on RUclips now.
👍🏼
Not really sure why, but yeah it's my new favorite episode, made me feel warm and fuzzy inside LoL
I met Mike Marcum in 1996, he was a real genius but you'd never know it to look at him or speak to him!!!
So ask him what he has figured out about the disappearing object? Let us know!
Real Genius starring Val Kilmer?
Where's Kitty??
And the other animals ??
And what exactly are “geniuses” supposed to look like then?
@MichaelDebrown sounds like a “you” problem to be honest.
Cant wait to see Hecklefish just floating at the top of his tank
:(
hahahha dark lol
Awe, that is dark.
😂
Yeah I'm not a fan either. He ruins the flow of the story. His jokes aren't good, either. Big L for Hecklefish. The lil bastard.
When I heard "Mad Scientist builds backyard Time Machine," the picture I had in my head matched up pretty close. Growing up in Arkansas, I've met a few junkyard inventers that look like Jackle roadies, but could build a rocket ship out of a refrigerator and a few car radios
This channel continues to surpass itself. Aj's storytelling is fantastic. I could listen all day, if only I hadn't already binged the entire channel

Just when I thought you couldn’t top yourself - you do it. This show is so darn good it should be on a major streaming channel.
This IS a major streaming channel.
No no they should stay well away from mainstream infact you've is becoming way too mainstream for this show and others alike.
They'd replace him with a diversity hire
It is, fucking RUclips
It’s so good if y’all could see me I’m car camping in my truck in the mountains to go snowboarding tomorrow and it’s a blizzard outside. Two episodes in a row now have started out with the phone resting on the dash. By the end of the first I had found myself uncomfortably leaned over the center console, wide-eyed, with my face inches from the screen lol, and by the end of this episode the phone was in my hand and I became completely oblivious to my surroundings haha it’s 1:19 AM. Enthralled with your work AJ you da man 🤙🏽
There's a fine line between genius and madness.
Great job, AJ! Thanks for walking the walk. I have to say, this is my favorite to date. I've watched since near the beginning. I'm a single dad with sole custody of my 2 kiddos, so I don't have the extra funds I wish that I could contribute... if I could, I would. You definitely make it worth everyone's time. Keep it going, they make my week.
Spend that money on the kiddos, Joe! I'm just happy you're here.
@@TheWhyFilesbad financial situation for my wife and I too AJ I love you and HeckleFish and I tell her about your stories, she's terminally sick and I do my best to take care of her but thank you so much for the entertainment and facts and for your demeanor it means a lot to me.
I really miss Art and you nailed it, no matter how outlandish the guest, Art spoke to them with dignity and respect.
An very old sounding lady used to call in once in a while and say she was dead and calling from the other side. He would ask her all kinds of interesting questions and thank her for calling in. Class act.
The fact that Mike is still here doesn't disprove his theories or his machines at all! It simply implies that the future is either unreachable, or worse, undesirable.
Or maybe he got cold feet and never jumped through again.
Time travel is possible but just past time. If the future has yet to happen then there are no holds to reach it. No matter how much gravity or power you convert
@@mambaking77 only if time is linear, that's just how we perceive it
The fact that we don't have a time machine means that it is impossible...the only way to travel through time is to move faster then light which can't be done because not but light can move that fast so unless you can ride light you can't travel in time other then at the speed we already do
@@mambaking77 we dont have a full understanding of how time works. nor gravity, nor electricity
I totally agree with your assessment that your success in storytelling is by treating subjects fairly "no matter how bonkers a topic is." You're totally right that it's about the story, not about whether it's correct. Millions of people enjoy stories that are intentionally fictional; whether the ones you share are legit or not, they're still entertaining, and your treatment of them is perfect and entertaining.
The Why Files is a treat every week, but this was an especially good episode. Bonus points because it might actually turn out to be true!
Loved the episode, it's well done. I tend to believe it.
I really think everything he takes the time to talk about is true
Whether it’s true or not it makes people believe it (because it’s intertaining) so if you believe it’s true then it’s true?! RUclips content is literally changing the world! TRUTH
I did not sleep through the 90s and early 2000s listening to Art Bell. The episodes with Marcum were amazing. One of the best stories. RIP Art Bell.
Ye ye Respect the Legend 😎 on Hoodstas 55th 55th art just like Cmac real Ñîgg@ last of the dying breed he keeps it 5 with ya ya 5 me on hoodstas mane 55th
For a girl who was more into literature and art it’s so nice to have you break down some of the science in layman’s terms for me and allow me to feel included during these episodes. I wish I had known about coast to coast and listened growing up. This channel has allowed me to grab some of that magic now. The comment section is always so positive and the videos are always full of hope. Thanks for not dashing anyones hopes no matter how wild the story.
What color--never mind I won’t make a troll comment this time.
i'll send you some grass to touch@@ReptilianXHologram
You can still subscribe to Coast to Coast and listen to older episodes. I've subscribed to Coast to Coast on YT.
It's always awesome to see a young fan of the unique, absurd and paranormal.
Happy journeys
Enjoy the rabbit holes.
Spotify also has some classic Coast to Coast episodes. I discovered Art Bell in 2001 after graduating high school and working nights. Lots of great guests and a wide variety of topics
Thanks for the great story. Always nice to have a cup of coffee and listen to AJ. Keep on keeping on, my friend.
The Why Files seems to be fastly developing some classics of their own! Thanks AJ...for knowing how to tell a story.
Art Bell ❤ Man oh man did this guy get me through some long nights throughout my life. A true one of a kind storyteller.
Art will be missed
loved Art Bell & his show was awesome.
This could explain the photos of people in years past holding cell phones and people who just appear out of nowhere.
Waiting for the Why Files is unbearable. It is the notification I love the most but then the wait starts... Best channel ever, anywhere any time, hands down. Thank you, you make my day every time!
I know right. It's agonizing.
Makes my night, too. AJ and Team really puts out outstanding episodes!!!
My wait is longer, on Tuesday, I kept thinking it's gotta be Thursday. It's Thursday isn't it. It's Tuesday and I'm on the wrong side of Wednesday. Damn the wait.
Lol it isn't just me then!! It's worse as I'm in the UK so 7 hours from now is 2am! Damn!
@@83moonchild I hate waiting until Friday. Lol
I love the fact that you liked Art Bell. I listened to his show all through the late 90's and you are right. Art always respected his guest regardless how crazy their stories were. Now he did speak up if something didn't make sense or the story they told contradicted itself, but other than that, he was always kind and respectful. I see the same in you, AJ.
'Robots in disguise." HF is a hero. This gag really helped soften the blow of being reminded that we are one Art Bell short of a better world.
Story is full holes. For example: the transformers the power company uses are step down not step up. They take the 14,400V incoming voltage down to 220 and 110V your house uses The lasers mike pulled oof the CD players are in the milliwatt range, incapable of doing any kind of heating. Even if you had an industrial metal cutting laser zero heating happens until the beam hits a solid object. Stepping through a plasma tornado? Mike would have flamed out faster than a moth caught in an acetylene torch. Plasma cutters are used in industry to cut through solid steel. Cute story but is total fiction.
“No more wire hangers”!
Mommy Dearest scared me as a kid and it wasn’t even a horror movie 😂
Thank you hecklefish! Great episode.
I got the reference, too, and don’t know whether to feel proud, or old. 😂
What's the reference from
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 One of the most horrifying women on the planet. Joan Crawford's scariness was legendary. And they picked the perfect person to play her in Mommy Dearest. Dunnaway is the latter day incarnation of Joan Crawford! 😂😂
I'm still traumatized from that movie
I wish I would have seen this before I commented…I thought I’d be the only one who knew instantly what the reference was to, but I’m old, too!
The only guarantee here is that if you watch this entire video at normal speed, you'll travel forward in time 38 minutes and 57 seconds...
Driving in a car is the same thing…
@@therealcnn5346 not really you "gain" some attoseconds from the speed of the car and, when you are in motion, contracted a planck length maybe.

I have never, in the history of this platform, enjoyed a channel more than I enjoy this channel. I was hooked from the moment I found it and I don't miss a single episode. Keep up the amazing work!!! We appreciate you back :)!!!!!
Not if I appreciate you first!
Man I love this show. Gives me the same feeling as the old Unsolved Mysteries, X-Files, early Ghost Hunters, Amazing Stories etc. Nice work as always!
Who else was waiting for AJ to say “this never happened the way you think”?! It’s a bit creepy that this story is TRUE.
Maybe just that, as far as we know, we can't DISPROVE this time travel aspects.
Something was built, the guy knows his stuff, but did it function as such? The idea of conservation of momentum, speed and velocity through time - without looking up the talk about gravity locking details - certainly raises eyebrows.
@@ChronoSquare yeeeaaah time travel is just a bit too much out there to be believable in the way it was represented here.
there is no reason why a time machine would use the earth as a plane of reference for locations, while earth, sun, and galaxy are hurtling through space.
cool story tho :P
@@underarmbowlingincidentof1981 f'real
shame there was no embellishment on the state of the animals that went through

I don't know but it could do with momentum. Objects in motion tend to stay in motion. Ie someting hurtling thru space would keep moving in said direction while transitioning time.@@underarmbowlingincidentof1981
@@dot1298 the fact that speed of light is so absurdly slow is a real bummer. Without some undiscovered aspect of physics, it basically locks us into our solar system for better or for worse.
It's probably for the best that we don't have the capacity for time travel shenanigans anyways.
It's amazing that you guys are able to pull off a show with this level of research, production, and presentation in just a week. So glad i found this channel a few months ago, keep up the great work, i'm addicted 👍
South Park is produced weekly, too. Smart people can manage this kind of magic. 😄
@@SoberOKMoments Yeah but they have an actual studio, team, and network behind them doing it, genius. Also, don't they have seasons? As in, they get months to work on the episodes then release them all.
@@-FAFO- WF also has support staff and maybe the first episode of a season has more time but in season South Park is made week by week. There is a whole documentary about the process.
@@ymmij5217 Good for them, but i assure you they have 10x the resources of WF to make their stuff. Just let them have the praise i gave them and go be a buzzkill elsewhere.
South Park hasn't had weekly released seasons in ages. Why are people assuming a South Park episode and an episode of the WFs takes a week to make? Do you not think they plan out episodes and start on scripts before that ahead of time? I think you'll find they even have a back log of unreleased videos ready to go. You couldn't do this if you took one week to research, write, record, edit and upload as well as release an episode each week.
I enjoy listening to your episodes for the exact reason you point to here, you tell the story without judging the audience and present the facts where available. It is a very fun time. Thank you.
Such a fascinating story! AJ's storytelling - and Hecklefish's jokes - elevate the whole deal. Really cool adventure, like every week ♥
Hecklefish is funny but the end credits song is even funnier. "Gertie loves to dance" 😂
@@AMG-on-2nd The end song (and the original version) is a banger! Once I found out what it was called (Victor Lundberg ft. Matt Bloyd - With Music on Repeat), I added it to my playlist! 🎵
Listening to an Art Bell show from 28 years ago is still as magical as it was when it was first aired. Art would say that Rush ruled the daytime but at night Coast to Coast owned the night. At Art's peak he drew over 15 million plus listeners nightly. Art knew that many listeners would fall asleep during his 4 hour broadcast so he suggested they use their video cassette recorders to record the show's audio. He explained in detail exactly how to do it and many did. It was a genius idea and helped forever keep his voice alive for many years into the future.
shameless glazing
I met Mike in Hawaii in 2015-2016 with a group of hippies camping deep in the rainforest while I was hiking across the Island, traded some hemp cord for some seashells he collected, still have those shells and made necklaces out of them.
This is one of my favorite episodes I never thought I had any interest in until I passively listened.. ❤
Well said AJ. Your openness, natural storytelling ability, humility and humor are the recipe most others can't match.
Yeah I like how he said that the Mike guy went into the portal and no one ever heard of him since, only to 5 minutes later say that all of that was a blatant lie and that he was actually still around and had a job, amazing storytelling
@@artv.9989 Would you rather have him lie and let you walk around thinking a guy disappeared into a homebuilt portal? Your comment is a perfect example of exactly why I love this channel, it provides the fanatasical, and the reallistic version. You can decide for yourself.

The Why Files is just becoming more and more Brilliant!
I loved this episode and got goosebumps when I heard Art Bell's voice.
Bring on the crazy stories...we love how you present them...balanced and unbiased. This sometimes leaves me disappointed when they turn out to be untrue but I am always intrigued.

Art Bell is the absolute best. He is a legend and you reviving his story's and phone calls is amazing. I only clicked this video because I already listened to the calls with mad Mike on midnight in the desert, with that said you did it justice and keep up the good work sir 🎉
I thought I was gonna hear the story of a crazy person. I am pleasantly by surprised how wrong I was. I loved this episode. Hope Mike can achieve his goal
He suggested listening to the Art Bell interviews... I agree you must as Art is a excellent interviewer with a open mind and a boundless imagination
AJ, thank you so much for mentioning the issue about traveling through time and space. This is always been my problem with time travel also. I don't know that Mike sufficiently addresses this with what you've described about as machine but I'm glad that somebody has brought this up. Another great episode! Thank you!
Agreed, but more and more scientists are theorizing that time and space can only move together, and may even be interchangable, the same as energy and mass. Remember all this is based on our current, widely accepted understanding of time and space and how they interact, or connect, or if they are the same. Our current understanding may be completely wrong, the same as our incorrect record of mans history over the last 20 thousand years or more. It is all being rewritten as we learn more.
Why files Thursday baby!!!!!!!
We are all literally watching AJ become the next art bell 2.0 and I for one absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!
AJ and the why files crew are the best of the best.

Except for at 31:21 he mistakenly says "the higher the gravity, the faster time moves" but it's the opposite of that. He says "in extreme gravity like near a black hole, time would move very very fast" this is totally wrong, time almost stops in a black hole. I am disappointed AJ.
I think this episode is the best one you've done so far. I agree with what you said, present the facts and let people decide for themselves whether or not it is true. I think you are right about Mike still being around. I hope he is and I hope that he figures it out. Your explanation about the earth, our solar system and our galaxy all moving at incredible speeds is something I'd never thought about and Mike's explanation about being tied to the Earth by it's electromagnatism surely addresses the issue. I hope Mike figures it out and gets it right.
Amazing as always AJ. You and your team have outdone yourselves this time! ! !
It interests me that with less gravity, there is more speed. This could include how the aging process works. An astronaut traveling at high speed in space will, theoretically, age slower than someone on Earth or any planet with a greater gravitational field.
Outstanding video, Why Files!
Bravo!!!
I used to work in startup companies and sleep on the office floor. I listened to all the famous Art Bell episodes first hand. The real phenomenon for me was his delivery. It was as if you'd accidentally tuned into a ham radio operator telling you what was happening on the ground. There was no "talking head" or "radio personality" syndrome. I have never heard that kind of experience replicated since, yet we have even better technology covering the planet. Art seemed to know we had our eyes closed imagining a voice from somewhere far away in space and time revealing hidden secrets. He took full advantage of an audience in that state of mind. As far as the Mike Markum story goes, I think we need more investigative reporting. If he stumbled onto unexplained phenomena we have every right to look into it further.
He used to say he could only work during the night, as the world is different at night time. Things are slightly more real and people are more open minded. I wish Art was around to see the upcoming disclosure, he would have loved to be proven correct regarding alien existence
@arostwocents When is this supposed to occur?
‘Investigative reporting’ has a new definition now?
It's nice to now and then get a good story that isn't scary. Mike sounds like a cool dude.
Everytime I hear the Art Bell intro I just smile to myself because I was there many nights listening to him live!!! Here's to you Mr. Art Bell!🥂 Thanks for making graveyard shift not so bad!
Great job Why Files.... Here's to you too🥂🥂
This guy reminds me of my father, who was an electrical/mechanical engineer. In 1983, my father had a computer that had a startup system before Apple. He even taught me to program dos at 5. I was disqualified from my 6th grade science experiment for my radio made of nails and wire that got fm/am. My dad was thrown out of his home town in high-school for blowing up the school twice. The city knew he liked to fly a 4ft rocket with his friends and often showed up at the house thinking their rocket fuel had burned down the barn. We had a full lab in the garage until he passed in 2007. I miss him, but the fire department and town judge does not.
I’m from Saint Joseph Missouri. Grew up listening to this with my pops. He had another warehouse here in our town in the 90’s. Always heard he disappeared one day.
I remember when I heard this live on Art Bell. To be on that show you didn't need to have a degree, a publication, or anything. Just a cool all-American story. Loved the concept.
Both interviews with Mad Man are on RUclips. I've listened to them maybe five or six times and I'll listen again. Can't get enough of Art Bell. John Lear and Bob Lazar interviews are fantastic.
I used to drive around all night chasing repos and Art Bell got me through the long boring hours driving around the city. The week of 9/11 was a memorable time on his show.
You are spot on AJ. One of my biggest reasons for being a huge fan of TWF, is because you cover everything neutral. You lay out the facts, and let everyone come to their own conclusions. Amazing episode, like always.
At 31:21 he incorrectly states "the higher the gravity the faster time moves and in extreme gravity like near a black hole, time would move very very fast" but this is wrong. Schwarzschild's equation for gravitational time dilation states that the more gravity there is the slower time is moving. That's quite a substantial mistake, that's like saying time moves faster for objects in motion than for objects at rest. Its a little bit disappointing cuz usually this show is top tier.
