I have a story even sadder than yours. I had $70,000 cash back in 2012 from a workers comp accident which left me with nerve damage in my leg. Bitcoin was still $60 a piece and I was seriously interested in investing at least $10,000 but instead let my friends and family talk me out of it. They told me how Bitcoin was a joke and would be gone in 2 years. My friends and family "borrowed" my money (which they of course never paid back) and now I'm living in an RV in somebody's backyard next to a cornfield. I don't own a car and what job I do have out here in the middle of nowhere only gives me minimal hours. If I had listened to my guts instead of doing monetary favors for people who only took advantage of me, that $10,000 would be worth over $11million today. If I'd invested the whole 70k I'd be sitting on $80mil today. I lost generational wealth that could have changed not only my life but other peoples lives as well. If you have money, the best thing you can do is NEVER TELL ANYONE.
